  1. You might want to look into using the 5.3 heads insteed of the 98 heads. You will need some new valve covers with the 5.3 heads. Your car should be down for only 1-2 days if you get all of the parts 1st. 224/228 cam is a good cam, are you going with a 114 or 112? I made 405rwhp cam only in my 240z 225/225 589/589 cam. Good luck Mike
  2. Ls1 motors are not small blocks. They are ls1's ,and they are larger than the Small block motors.
  3. Looks like you are almost ready for paint. Looking good. mike
  4. Joey I was not sure if you where going to buy it. You bought a RX7 with the same color as mine.
  5. Mike from JTR came over and used his car scales on my RX7 before the swap and after the swap and it only gained 28lbs. We also used a engine scale on both motors. You can not just compare engine weight to engine weight, this is why you weigh the car before and after the swap. Rotary(93 tt) with 5 speed 565lbs LS1 with 6 speed 590lbs On my new FD it was a auto pig before The motor and auto 635lbs
  6. Scottie-GNZ, you are right. Hypertek take that talk back to RX7club. The fact is that I only gained 28lb from the swap and the balance of the car is now better than it was with the rotary motor. I have allways liked reliable power over problem motors that do not make any TQ...
  7. My 1st ls1-fd was alot of fun and it was very fast. It had all of the comforts that my z-cars never did have,ac,ps,pw,pl. A ls1-fd will drive just like a normal car, it does not have that engine swap feel. Handling, braking, looks where all very good on this car. I sold this car to build my new 402 ls2 FD rx7. My new car is almost done and it will make over 500rwhp with a good idle, it will also have ac,ps. I still love my 240z-ls1 but the FD is just a better car all around.
  8. Some more exhaust work, cage and tunning and you will be in the 10's. LS1's sure do run alot better than the older motors that i use to play with. Way to go Joey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. z-fan The 235/60/15 drag radials always worked out ok for me. I later used 275/40/17 with alot of 1.5 60' times and this was with the stiff coil over setup. 1fastZ car, That was my old car that I sold to Dean. Just a basic build 383 with 225 conquest heads. I sold the car when I moved to California, It was a 280z and smog was a problem. I broke a few u-joints in that car, and a few r200 rear ends. This was not a safe rear end setup at all. dean went through many rear ends after he bought it also.
  10. Pics of my car launching and running a 11.1@124mph all motor ls1 are in my Sig. On the 235/60/15 drag radials it was able to get a 1.50 60'. It was close but the tires are still on the ground.
  11. ULISES Thanks for the vids of my car. I am not sure where my z-car video are. Mike
  12. When I was making 320RWHP with my lt1 I was running 11.8@114. You will need at least 310rwhp.
  13. pm Ls1240z I know that he has a aluminum drive shaft for sale that wil fit a 240-280z with a ls1 and r200 rear end. He went with a q45 diff so he can no longer use it. Mike
  14. Dale it looks like you only have a few days left on the swap. Mike
  15. I didnt know that there was someone so close building a ls1 240z. Looks good. Mike
  16. Buy something that will put out at least 10 cfm. I just replaced my Craftman 6.5cfm with a 11cfm unit, no more waiting for air now.
