  1. I'm not sure how you would get no voltage though, ground should be grounded and + receives power from the key. The coil transistor though like Len said is what fires the coil. I hope I am remembering that all right, been awhile since I've looked at mine.
  2. Wont be too many years (months?) before speed limiters are 75 MPH mandatory on all vehicles, bah.
  3. Play on Spaceballs, "My jiggle is bigger than yours."
  4. Damn, too many users. LoL, I'm in now... The only thing that tops this in embarrasment, is the Berkeley U student, who accidentally put his own video cap of him with a hooker in his dorm room, in his SHARED directory for KaZaA. Most embarrasing moment? "You know I'm asian right, dont expect much."
  5. But, according to Tim Allen and Jay Leno, adding a turbo for example is just a safety modification...
  6. Idle Air Controller (GM anyway), does not serve the purpose of TPS which is a seperate unit.
  7. That was hilarious LoL, BTW those guys work out to help them put up with the abuse. While they aren't pro bodybuilders they are pretty likely going to be twice as strong as the average looser.
  8. Einstein was quite the womanizer himself. Promised his second wife all kinds of mental challenges working along side her, then ignored his kids and her for the most part, for the remainder of his days.
  9. Summit is getting bad press on another board over some ordered parts numbering in the thousands of dollars, some items in bad condition, and just plain rude service he says.
  10. Win2k is VERY stable for me, but I still would put my life support on DOS before Windoze. Problem with DOS is if something crashes it wont restart itself, like it could on Nix or a properly working Win2k box (provided it doesn't BSOD). So if all systems are go, DOS should never lock up doing a flash If there is any hiccup in programing, you have 400ms to fix it! So turn off screensavers/powersaving stuff.
  11. Clues: Had gout later in life. Liked tying keys to strings on kites in bad weather.
  12. Comparing my former dual Weber L6 to my much heavier Camaro in itself is a huge difference, and my Camaro is nearly stock currently. I feather the throttle the whole way to work, or I'm off the gas entirely in or out of gear, where with the 240 I was half throttle sometimes to get up hills without lagging. Contrast to the Camaro and again I can feather the throttle in 5th and fly up a hill at 1500+ RPM. Throw it in second and wham, take-off. Between the two cars was about a 2 second difference in the quarter, thats a big friggin difference. 240 just doesn't have the grunt like a V8 does, a V8 in a 240 though must be a blast even if making modest power. FWIW, one of my Korean friends was a Civic and import fan-boy, until his first ride in a Buick GN. Then he later got to ride in a Camaro. He says he is proud to have other asians look down thier noses at him, he now owns a black/black Z28 6 speed. No more rice for him. A torquey engine is an experience to be lived, if it has top end too then all the better. http://www.csboyfriend.com/mycar.html
  13. I can agree with that on some small avenue, while they didn't mean too they still took that risk, and they knew the risks. I gotcha, you wouldn't believe how some people defended that other ___. Actually, I have never raced on the street in my life. Now on the interstate, or freeways going to work @ 3AM, I'm guilty of SPEEDING, used to drive to work @ 130 MPH every day in my Firebird, used to see between 3 and 5 people on the way.
  14. That doesn't give anyone thier life, or thier brain back. This is the same stuff I heard from people over the young girl burned beyond recognition due to an alcoholic driver, I think that is a CROCK of an argument. YOU KNOW ITS A RISK, AND YOU TOOK THAT RISK = YOU STILL ARE UNDER THE LAW. Ahh but my ego killed him Judge, it wasn't my fault. I like having fast cars, but lets not be dipshits about it.
  15. That sucks, for all parties involved.
  16. I have an RX7 racer buddy and even he says the V8 conversion guys all use Darius as thier defense mechanism against those that say V8 conversions suck.
  17. Not sure what a mild V8 is (245HP?), but TORQUE is the difference. An LT1 as an example, although more expensive than a carbed V8 will have alot more balls, even in a much heavier car. Like Mike said, there is no way to compare them, unless you look at big versus small.
  18. Oh well, everyone starts somewhere I had a 97 Slobra, I know obviously with a blower its going to be a much more potent ride, but I was not all that impressed with the 97 in terms of handling or speed. Now what I DID like alot about the car, was it was very comfy to drive, easy to get in and out of, easy to park (smallish), overall the interior was just human friendly no matter the plastiqué, it just wasn't scary to drive. Thier rev limiter schemata is also wierd, takes like 4,000 RPM for the power to come back after you go past the limiter. Ok, yet another set of horror stories, I came across a guy on Corner-Carvers.com that blew 4 of the DOHC Cobra engines in racing. Can you say cam $$$wap? All that work to make a dinky engine that weighs alot, as potent as a larger engine that weighs less or the same, with 1 cam. Go high-tek, yay.
  19. Sounds like a sit n spin, but that had no wheels that I can remember...
  20. I think sometimes when people figure out the answer to thier own problems, they dont neccessarily want to revisit it in someone elses thread Kind of sucks I spose. Zcar.com usually has some good stuff around, but your right it sure is confusing. Some say they are "the same" other say "no", I guess they are only partially the same which is believable. The splined shafts are not the same, so it makes sense thier attachment is different.
  21. Hope everything works out. If you need anything give a holler, I can swing by a weekend or something if needed. I'll fire off that coil pic tomorow, bed time now
  22. You can also use an MSD system for the same thing Even my stock Camaro PCM has a different first gear RPM limiter, because there is less strain (chance for knock) in first, which is another reason why you dyno in 1:1.
  23. One important, and sometimes difficult thing to remember is that there is always something to be thankfull for, just as there is always someone worse off.
