Get an empty 44 gallon drum and whack the top off, tip in a bottle of degreaser concentrate such as simple green et al, run a garden hose in and drop in the block. leave it to soak for a while and the cleaning will be easy as.

Well, since Betamotorsport lists the OS Giken on the site as $1590 USD, after exchange rates + shipping I would say if UK OSG is also pricy you could likely get JohnC to post you a OSG superlock for less than 1200 Sterling. XE.com says 1200GBP is 1819USD, giving you 220USD for postage. What would VAT and Duty be? And JohnC, I note you list the OSG for S30 R200, but not S130... Did you just save website screen space and programmer costs, reckoning S130 owners would just buy a S30 unit on the basis that a R200 is an R200, wherever it is installed?

So which of you is doing the roadtrip? -
Welcome to what most of the western world have to deal with, NZ has the same basic thing, car Warrant of Fitness, or WoF checks. every 6 months we have to get our cars checked against a list of required performance settings. If they pass, we get a sticker in the window. If you fail, you can't drive it anywhere except home from the testing station or from home to the testing station after repair. The UK has the MOT test. Japan has something in kanji, same idea. Australia the same... So does Germany... Even Ukraine has it. China has it. Every year you troop down to the test centre, they make sure your car won't endanger other road users, and pay your vehicle tax.At least in chinas case a few Yuan tucked into your vehicle ownership papers handed to the tester means you get the approval, never mind the state of the car. Yet most of the US doesn't. From what I hear, if it runs, they let it on the road.... You just gotta have insurance to cover your ass when it breaks in half on the interstate and causes a pileup.

I hear rumbling through the motor press that Ford may be looking at releasing the new mustang outside the NorAm continent... I would love to see RHD mustangs in NZ, or even Japan or the UK since we get used imports from both places -
Yeah, there was a thread some time back where you basicly thumbed your noses at the mods, went "Do your worst, Bozos!" and sat back to see what your title changed to... Some pretty interesting titles resulted

Any way to edit\delete my member project thread?
kiwi303 replied to badjuju's topic in Non Tech Board
Not for YOU to do, the story of Why that is so predates my arrival at the forum but I learned the basics. Some guy did a build project and contributed a lot of very useful information to the forum, then later had an argument with another user and went and deleted every single post he made. So a lot of good information which was of great use to other users was lost. As a result the forum system was changed so after a while only Mods can change posts, so no-one can unilaterally remove useful information. Once posted, always posted, so think about what you will be saying before you say it. But for clarifications, streamlining data and generally correcting mistakes or making it simpler to understand if you PM a mod they are usually amenable to changing it for you. Just write it up so the mod can Cut n Paste from your PM rather than having to tediously re-write it himself. -

Given it is heavy, powerful and handles well, how would you stack it up against a Z32 twin turbo? Ok, the 300zx was a high end sports car not a cheapish pony car, but the years mean design and suspension have changed so cheap cars these days can beat expensive cars from decades ago. -

I hear they are talking about making the new Mustangs available tot he rest of the world, not just American Continent... I wouldn't mind a factory RHD mustang... -
GSXR fan here, but that looks more comfy for longer trips...

Closed Circuit Rebreather?

Agreed value is just exactly that. you and the insurance company agree on a value you think the car is worth, they look up their statistics and figure out how likely you are to crash or be crashed into, they multiply their statistic by the value and come up with a monthly premium. You get totaled, they just subtract you the excess on your policy and write you a cheque. No blue book, no pricing ebay, no digging up receipts to argue they should pay you more than their basement price. A simple, known figure on a cheque. Buy-backs, salvage titles, all the rest of that set of issues is up to the companys own policy, I would expect the same policy for buy-backs for totaled agreed value as for replacement or full cover. All you are doing is eliminating the argument of whether the blue car with 215,000 miles the company found in the rust belt as replacement is equivalent to your just totaled rare sunset yellow colour with 90,000 miles from California. You either get back your car in the same pre-crash state, or a cheque for the amount you have been paying premiums on. That is all there is to Agreed Value.

AGREED VALUE COVER! Yes, caps lock is intentional.

The thing about choosing a car is the same as Rule 1 of this site... There is no BEST. In the end it will just boil down to having you arse planted in as many different seats with your foot planted on the gas pedal until you find one you just don't want to get out of. Go bug the dealerships for test drives and rack up a few hundred miles and then come back and tell us what you just bought -

AE86 is the sports car of the year here in NZ, just like france, through Toymota NZ is calling it the AE86 not the FT86. If used is in the mix tho, Boxster/Cayman or Z3 would be worth a look. -
"kicking sand in the face of a 17 yr old wantign to wire his starter"? hell yes, High volume leafblower blasting him and dump a bucket of sand in the airstream! For that case, there is Zcar and Classiczcar... it is AFTER those site run out of utility that HBZ comes into the picture.

minimum battery requirements???
kiwi303 replied to Rusty Bomb's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
V8? 350cca in good weather with decent wiring/spark. 450-500cca if it's a bit less ideal/high comp/cold/poor spark. If you're cranking for half an hour in snow past your cars roof, move somewhere else and re-wire the ign system with new wire and good parts. -
All good then. I saw "Sweden" in your location which is why I helped you, if I had seen no location or a US location I would have just ignored the post with a few mutters about morons that can't do a simple whitepages/online phonebook search. Figuring English is not your native language and Sweden is too small to have the problem of multiple locations with the same name scattered through different states, I thought I would be nice Hope he answers your history Q's

Or take an hour to finally decide to load when something kicks the cache or some other software does somethign else strange. Didn't see that winking face before... or now either... grrr... bloody copper wires... I miss the fiber to the basement connection my China apartments had.

This is the Bonneville car Wiki D is talking about. No doubt what they do now with no real push by challengers for the title forcing them to get the last little 0.005% of performance out of the car to keep their record. ANY car at bonneville is by definition reaching the point of diminishing returns where adding a Zero to the budget adds a few percent improvement at best. How much would the difference between eyeball tuning the cylinders vs individual cylinger wideband sensors gain you? 2%, 5%? at HOW much cost? Best wait until it is needed to stave off the challengers.

I think I can guess one who is placing YOU on HIS list... Z Greek seems a bit miffed about chain guides for some reason

So many fun small nifty cars that never make it stateside, and so many big land barges with Massive engines that never leave NA continent... Sometimes life sucks, I would like a RHD NZ New F250 or F350 or Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4wd as a farm hack, almost the load space of a Mitsubishi Canter or Isuzu NPR/NPK truck and far more capable offroad scrambling up tracks where the canter would spin it's wheels.
