  1. Yep, Check the input spline count, then look at the bearing race that is seated in the front of the casing. If it reads Timken, then it's a World Class T-5, BUT if the input shaft has 14 splines it has a smaller internal gearset. 26 splines and your golden. I bought a V6 WC T-5 unknowingly at the time and ended up buying a rebuild kit and a Cobra "R" Gearset to upgrade the internals w/. Interesting project.
  2. Painless or other aftermarket kit is definitely the way to go. All wires are marked, super easy to put together.
  3. Thanks for the input Mike. The house is GONE and the lot completely cleared as of Yesterday. It cost us (my brother and I) 6300 which included the Sewer Cap, Removal of house, garage and slab, basement, and the backfill of the basement. They ended up clearing more trees than they wanted but it's ultimatly what I wanted. Taxes are like 350/year so I think we are going to sit on it for a while. No reason to sell now that the liability is gone. The lot next to it is for sale and is basically an asphalt parking lot. I'm going to make a lowball offer and see what I can get it for. If not for an investment, for a possible future shop for myself, which may or may not be a commercial deal. Will see what the cards lay out for me
  4. By the Scenery and the Dress of that driver, looks like the Mid East, I'll keep and eye out for a stranded Skyline...
  5. I'm kind of stuck between 2 and 3, car is running but only once and it's not driving...
  6. I'm thinking your ok. When I put floors and rails in mine I did it on jack stands placed on the front and rear subframes when the shell was completely stripped and my doors still like up as well as they did before I cut the car up.
  7. I've heard some stuff about the other lots, basically I think there is an investment firm that has multiple holding companies that have all the lots under their many similar company names. They have been buying the lots up for like 20 years or so. About 2 Years ago the city voted for a Vision 2025 down town rejuvination project, and I'm betting that by 2025 some of that land is going to be worth a good chunch of $$.
  8. How did you manage a ride behind the wheel of that? I saw a 63 AMG the other day(I think it said 63). Of course here in Dubai, its towards the lower end of the spectrum. It's unreal the cars you see here in one day.
  9. you could make a chucking plug that fits snug inside the tubes so when you chuck up on them they don't deform. You could even make one that they threaded into if youre head stock allowed them to pass through I'd get yourself a decent set of dial indicators to checking trueness and all that if you havn't already. Really helps!
  10. Looks great! I think my Z is going to sit just about like yours is, and I'm happy w/ it.
  11. Well, i think the past couple of day's I've been too jet-lagged to count. Was thinking about it, and the trip was really about 30 hours total, on top of that I lost 10 hours so I think that's where I got the 40. Tulsa - Houston 1.5 hr Layover Houston 2.5 hr Houton - Amsterdam 9hr Layover Amsterdam 6.5 hr (PUKE) Amsterdam - Dubai 7 hr Wading through Dubai AM Arivals, Customes, Taxi to Hotel 3.5 hrs I think i'm over the jet-lag today, things are going well so far.
  12. The trip took almost 40 hours from Tulsa to the Hotel in Dubai!!! It was ROUGH to say the least. Getting the feel for the time diff today I'll start a dubai post when i get some pics taken...
  13. Replaced rear brake pads yesterday since the right rear wheel hat gotten locked up at some point while up in the air. The Pad had cracked and i guess stuck to the drum. Moved the Temp sensor, still need to chase some wiring down on the ignition side but it's hopefully the switch. Leaving tomorrow for Dubai, so I'm packing and finishing some things around the house today. Hopefully I will get some time to play. I'll be back in 3 weeks from today. C-YA
  14. you are right about the electric pump, i'd say if your car has always ran fine but had the 2nd pump unpluged then you could remove it. As far as the gas cap goes, I'm not sure.
  15. I too used the Lokar 24" universal cable. I'm not sure what the ZX cable mount looks like, but I took that L/Z bracket, drilled out the ball and hooked up the supplied lokar coupling through that hole.
  16. I'll be taking many pics while i'm there, so whatever I'm able to capture will get relayed here.
  17. need to find a bolt of THAT fabric
  18. They didn't use hi-temp paint. I'm not sure that there is any spray on paint that will hold up to exhaust temps? But I'd bet that's what the issue is.
  19. $1,900 for my (almost) rust free 260. I think I got it in late 2004, took it apart in late 2005.
  20. Sometimes I wish I was back out in the machine shop honing my nun-chuck skills instead of on this computer all day...
