  1. another scarab, quite a vanglorious automobile replete with chrome and a wonderfully stock appearance. i run a muncie four speed behind the scarab positioned car, and have had to do some mods to the console to get it to stop banging my knuckles in third and reverse, but the mods i did to the shifter and the trans tunnel are much easier than shifting the motor three inches back in order to obtain the clearance. i believe that a t5 or t56 would actually fit a lot better than the muncie, the muncie is shorter than both of these trans, another couple inches or so gained from the five and six speed gearboxes would put the shifter closer to stock, and would be nice to have some overdrive. i dont notice any ill handling effects from the scarab, and am an avid scarab fan. my car has the carb legal sticker obtained because the car had been converted before the z car had obtained smog exemption, another reason i wont change it, its a scarab scarab! i'm very happy with my car with the way it handles and drives, granted i dont autocross it at all. i figure, the hard part has already been done, making any tranny fit is just a matter of creativity, and you can make it handle better with suspension and putting the car on a diet, the suspension you would do to either conversion, and by diet i mean you can reduce the weight of the car, or you can build it up with more power and torque to bring hp to lb up. scarab.
  2. i dont know about that one, but i know that people use nitrous to cool the charge in big timer apps like one above, some of the gnx's do that one, oh boy.
  3. 30psi is crazy, my boss built a gnx (grand nasty, we like to call em) that ran 11s on 20 plus psi, it wasnt getting oil to one bank of cylinders so we rebuilt the motor and stuffed it in, during the tuning, it overboosted and blew off all the piping several times at 30lbs overboost, a grand site to see indeed.
  4. gimmie the supercharger and sell me the 300zx for player price.
  5. i say leave how it is, two great cars, even if i am more partial to mikes, which is what i want my z to look like, somewhat.
  6. mike c, your car is beautiful.
  7. the z pattern is 4 by 4.5, most of the cool rims are 4x100, and we cant run em without adaptors, man...
  8. you can also go to the local town dump and weigh your car, just clean out your garage as an excuse, people do it all the time.
  9. on all but one junky model they still make its 4x4.5
  10. same here, i have a 10k autometer tach and i rarely get past six, i would like an 8k tach or so, that way i could turn it sideways like the autocrossers and honda guys have it, that would be berry berry nice.
  11. and could you whip a nice figure eight for me please, or a loose one would be cool as well,
  12. hes right , i have a mini hi torque tilton, man that thing will crank in any weather after heated long driving sessions after about two seconds, its bad, and yeah, chevy starters do love to hate you after they get hot.
  13. great advice again from both of you guyz, ill try it out, you think i could push em out to get more wheel spread, that would cool, not too far though, ill try it.
  14. those motors can make some nice power, the cubes are all there you know.
  15. hey guys, planning on running some mustang rims, the bolt pattern is the same, but they are 24mm offset, will these work, im lowered with coilovers and short springs, i havenet test fit them yet either,im wondering if i could get away with a small spacer??
