if you are running stock turbo efi, no box needed unless you are running a whole buttload of power, then why are you still running stock efi? turbo setup only allows for like 26 degrees advance, adn with 7.4-1cr you have a lot of room to play. msd 6btm will do the do for you, but not neccessary.

wire it up like its a points system. a pertronix system does turn you inot a pointless mag pickup, but its still wired like points. my buddy almost blew his pertronix the same way wiriing a 6al into his car. if you have an early 240z you may need a tach adapter, just wire the tach either the tach port on the box, or the wire from the box that should go directly to your tach.

2.5 will be fine, 3" usually is only mandrel bent and not every shop carries pipe that big, if youre worried that much about flow dont run a muffler. i got my 3" system prefabbed as part of a trade, or i would have went 2.5" with a cutout.

are greddy kits based on the mitsubishi style turbos, and will they bolt up where a t3 used to be? reason im asking is that there is an sr20det loaded to the teeth with greddy components here at the warehouse that im working out a deal with to pick up, it looks just like a t3, but it has a ball bearing compressor wheel and its bigger than my mini me t3 for sure. and i know that the silvia turbos will bolt to a t3 flange, they are just kinda small for the 2.8. i was wondering if there was a place on line i could do further research about running this turbo or if its for me. its a big T3 with a 60 wheel on the cold side, hot side i wont know until i pull it off the engine. thanx folks.

for some reason, i really dig carbs on a v8, its so natural. i would love to stick in a nice bone stock tpi 350 700r4 in a nice 75-78 280z, that thing would make one smooth riding car.

supercharger is nice eye candy though, but extremely expensive, ive seen those camden blowers go for 2000.00 used and still need a rebuild and fab to work on a L motor. you can always make one off a grand prix work, but once again the turbo setup for the same money will smoke it. if youre really interested in some straight line terrorism, do a V8 swap, it will cost a little more to get dialed due to the other modifications, but once its in and putting power to the ground, youll love it. -
good question, lets see: 1972 v8 240z (sold after three hard years reaming import and domestic @ss with a vengence, low 13 second car with a best of 2.1 60ft on DRs, this car is a legend in my neighborhood and has destroyed at least two cars in every local crew from San Francisco to San Jose and i once took down an r32 at the montague drags-four speed, had to be the moneyist car i ever raced and beat, i estimate a win loss record of 88-12-i street raced that thing at least 100 times in three years, an average of a street race every 3.5 days or so, i want to see anybody match or top that. Ive broken and modified every driveline part in the process. fun to say the least) another great race of interest was the infamous two mile race vs. a 1971 camaro with a 454 th400, we took every light from mission block excelsior to army street, a total of eight lights of malicious mischief, and came out on top 6 out of 8, it hard to stay consistent with the stick trans- it was crazy, racing through the main strip that intersects every GETO, with people on every block and bustop cheering us on, i felt like the true SAN FRANPSYCHO native that i am with antics like that. i leave that behind me now and look to just drive a beautiful car everyday, but it cant be no punk.) (i twisted that frame into a pretzel, straightened and welded it, and bent it again in a very unrepairable fashion)(i lost money overall, but i learned so much about the sbc, four speed trannies, carbs, and the s30 platform when it comes to viscious acceleration that it was worth the time and expense on my part, it was like going to a technial institute or something.) 1973 240z bone stock (sold) 1971 240z dgv five speed r200 (sold) 1978 280z black pearl! (sold) 1971 toyota corolla(sold) 1987 turbo 2 rx7 with 13btt swap(sold)(smoked a z06 in it!) 1988 turbo 2 rx7 (sold) 1985 mr2(sold) 1987 firebird(sold) 1987 toyota p/u (wont sell) 1983 280zxt (his heart lives on! ) 1989 civic four door sedan (sold) 1983 280zxt-new arrival 1975 280zt-my buddy. paperwork and registration is nothing man, but like i said before game is to be sold-not to be told.

randy, is this seal replaceable? im leaking out the speedo gear i think, i leak enough trans fluid to worry about it and im sure its not the fill or drain holes, im also missing the lock thing too, ill get them all this friday at pnp, but i would like to replace that seal with a fresh one.

you could use it as a core, or a paperweight.

9" solid rear axle ford, if youre truly serious about 700hp to the ground or you could do an r230 setup that MIGHT take it, since you are still going to be running the stock stub axle.

i like the stock bumper with no rubber or overiders, if i could cop a euro rear bumper i would. for now im gonna do a 240z turn signal conversion with no grill, my 240 front bumper, and an INTERCOOLER

been done a few times, cmon now. best setup ive ever seen was a scarab with a 355 8.5-1cr , with a blower atop with two sidedraft webber carbs, all polished and it fit under a stock hood, he ran 11.1s all day long on drag radials with a clutched up 700r4 his son had a jag with a 383 that was running 12.9 all day on street tires.

picking up a 83 zxt 5speed later this week, ttop 2+2 white with a booming system, 170k orig and bone stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont know what ill do with this car, but for now im gonna drive it, and use it as my diagram to match up what ive done right, wrong, better and what i can do to make the s30 be a better car. probably wont do anything to this guy but cruise around with the beat. im pumped! this is my first zx that im not gonna cut to smiters, yet

Wheel/tiresize/backspacing/welding question

thats after the rotary, sr20det, and lt1 right? -
you really have to be in the stands to appreciate roundy round, you can see and feel what the drivers are going through. i dont like watching cone racing unless its drift style, which i know its slower, but it looks fun as heck. the z car is a very predictable car, its one of the reasons i like em so much.

jb it where it meets the block, and when you have to back it out just back out the T fitting -
you end up spending more money on hook then you ever spent to make your car fast, i dont care about hook that much, hook breaks stuff, and hook doesnt get me to the club no kinda faster, i figure with no hook halfshafts are forever young. but my car does hook, its not my tires or my suspension, its having been the king of import racing with an r200 suspension with an v8 in front of it for three years of drag race launches and clutch dump action, theres hook in the setuup, you do have to find it in any particular car though. i find the L28et car hooks up good if i drop teh clutch at 3k or so and feather it out the hole, but i run tons of squat, and it will just squat, spin, chirp, and go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trans am cars are wonderful machines, and yes, they dont hook til fourth at all, and bearly in fourth, thats the true beauty of the sport, if you are watching in the stands, you know that those savage four speed v8 machines have no real traction the entire time they are doing the roundy round, and the other guys are trying to erk em into a spin or to slow em down, its just beautyful.
