  1. i dont think youll do it either.
  2. being that times are tough i cant go all out and modify my z car to take high boost or feed a big compressor(saving money for a rainy day), i was looking to rebuild the spare one that i have at home and just bump up the compressor wheel, im wondering now what to do. is teh 300zx turbo the one with the .63, or did 280-300zx both have this size on the turbine side, ive searched and found the .63 to be the more desirable, and the compressor wheel on the turbo looks pretty big-but i m not sure though. will the stock housing take the 60-1 wheel , or do i need a bigger compressor housing completely? i mean, can it be ported out to take a bigger wheel setup? if anyone could guide me to a site that shows how to rebuild a turbo or some good literature that would be great too, i would really love to learn how to rebuild these things. thanx.
  3. went to Napa today to get some fuel line to replace ones by the fuel pump, they are starting to leak a little bit at the clamps and figured replace them altogether to be safe. anyways it looks like the rear fuel lines are 3/8-1/2 diameter and the store didnt have either one in a high pressure fuel line, but i do have a lot of line left over from doing an oil cooler install, and was wondering if that stuff was compatible? my oil does get pretty hot (but a lot colder than before, noticibly so) and i show at least 65 lbs oil psi on a freeway speed. im wondering if these will hold fuel, the hose is big enough, whacha think????
  4. i am always up to smoking that twompsac swisher sweet to the cranium with a french inhale, just tell me when. just kidding-like. how about big bold hybrid Z letters with images inside the letters like I was talking about before, with images of lots of car go fast type stuff in it, turbos, gnoses, flares, su's, triples webbers, or something like a big letter "HYBRID" with a Z superimposed into the lettering, and then in teh lettering have a full frontal z shot from like a foot away, the minimal distance needed to capture the whole front?
  5. do the 455, it will be sickly fast on the street. i make fun of my buddy every time i see him about rebuilding his 350olds motor, when he could plop a 455 right in that sucker.
  6. i wont do another NA car for a while. and i like the L28et over a v8 in my car because im not building a race car- im building a true daily driving soldier personalized to ME. and the only V8 cars i would ever do are a 62-64 Chevy 2/ Nova, 69-72 Stingray Vette, with barely any preference in the two, im actually hoping more that i can find a nova in the future, because of the stock market value of an earlier vette-you cant get as much when you do BBC if it came with an SBC-and i wont even think of doing anything less than 468ci-no smallblocks for me ever ever again. if i do a smallblock vette, it would have to something huge like the 1970 Lt1 ported and bored out to all heck and a lot of cutom head work, like a 11:1 388 at the least. small blocks cant touch big blocks if the builds are equal, thats the real. that is not to say i didnt LOVE my 327Z with the four speed i was way faster than my turbo car currently is with that setup in my car but it took me a long time to get them all to agree, but if youre looking to terrorize the neighborhood that v8 will do it. i really just got bored with the v8 car, i work on a sbc or bbc at least one a week, you gotta switch it up.
  7. i dont think youre going to do it. but it would be nice though.
  8. all you had to say was four speed and here i am. stock t10s and muncies are invincible behind an sbc, especially in a small car, im living proof of that one. that M22 is beautiful. i used to have an m22 in my z, but i had a rear seal leak i didnt check up on, and lost it. i say go with a regular t10 or m21 first, and BREAK IT FOR ME.
  9. how much do the euro springs lower the car by the way? i dont want to lower my car lower than 1.5 inches and dont want a bone jarring ride.
  10. yep, thats it. ill keep my eyes open for a bov, i think the silvia uses a recirculating valve. a lot of the intake piping gets sold first i think with the intercooler, i think he parts out the clips for the quick money stuff first, and only sells them as a complete unit with motor if its completely souped up. ill keep my eyes open. i wish that the silvias wore watanabes, id have a set, they usually have some rims on em im not into, but the silvias still carry the og 4x4.5 lug pattern-so maybe ill get lucky and get me some rimzos, i can still get wats, what size were you looking for? they do cost ALOT i have to say first off. 15x6.5 goes for around 700.00, and im sure you want bigger, just warning you. ron-make me a list and i see what i can do.
  11. you gotta take a stand, relationships are a two way street and it seems like shes got you licked pretty good. if she doesnt put in her half you guys either have to resolve it somehow, or get out cause its putting you through the wringer. there are plenty of fish in the sea. i hope this isnt just because you cant dance?
  12. im really interested, i want a set just a hair bigger than the stock injectors those lucas inj. supposed to flow really good.
  13. one mans trash another mans treasure. going through the pile of JDM parts that fall off the clips, get cut but still useable, or just get slept on, man i found some cool stuff. -Focuz Intake 3" with Tbolt clamps, HKS honeycomb air filter, and a 2.5-3" silicone coupler! ( this JDM guys seem to use these things on everything, and tighten them to like 25lbs!) -Earthing ground booster kit, its a wiring harness that consists of grounds only, its a bunch of 8 guage wire that snakes around everywhere, has these weird provisions to bolt to the block or to the frame in at least five places ( it looks like the clamps that hold the heater hose near the block on a L6) , and has junctions to lug in new grounds, then goes to a 4 guage with a funny lug like a battery cable, but with a smaller hole ,so that you can secure to the block/frame with a 10-12mm bolt. TURBO magazine has a writeup on this i think, this thing is fresh. -a nice handful of GREDDY 2.5" silicone couplers with TBolt clamps! been checking out the silvia motors closer now, my buddy and i carried one across a large warehouse without even straining! that thing is light. man a really nice setup just left the warehouse too, it had a big ass Greddy turbo, some crazy looking throttle body, a turbo header, a crazy clutch with this anodized blue pressure plate on it that looks like a burst container or something, AN lines with earls braided hoses on it from the oil filter adapter, this is nuts man--------the JDM motors i have seen with AN fittings wrap their braided hoses in wire loom! and they put these wristband looking things on the master cylinder resevoirs. my buddy picked up a scented shifter that is see through and has a fake flower in it! theres this big stack of aftermarket exhausts over there too, one of them had a freakin 4" mandrel exhaust to a 4" in and like 7-8 inch out muffler! cant wait to plumb that funny ground strap thing-im actually gonna add some grounds to it, man my efi is gonna LOVE me!
  14. what a bunch of ricers. i have more JDM than you
  15. theres not enough forced induction v8z cars out there. my dream goal for the fl327 was to swap out my 10:1 slugs for at least a point or two lower forged pistons, headstuds, and drop a small blower on it, like the single carb weiand/holley on it, and try to hide it with a huge cowl hood, problem with that is the high mount of a scarab conversion would need like at least 4" of cowl to conceal. i ran 100 dry shot nitrous about three big bottles worth, FOUR SPEED. I should have run it with the juice at the track, i would have locked down mid twelves minimum with that juicy juice right after the 60ft. oh well, three years of holding it down with the v8 was awesome, i just went through my photos of that car, dang it was fun.
  16. 2.5" inch is fine i think. 3" is pretty expensive. im happy to hear someone actually woke up and went with the ca18det, its tougher at the high hp.
  17. sectioning your struts is the true way to lower your car, it makes the suspension travel even out, handles better, say you lower your car and didnt section the struts, your suspension travel is going to be funny-i havent sectioned my struts but i do understand the principle. just be careful, my buddy runs the same suspension you just mentioned, but he cut his struts down too much, so every bump he hits really hurts, and he has to run his adjustable shocks at MAX or else his wheels rub everywhere. sectioning is good thing if you are going to lower more than 1", i would also watch those spring rates, 375 is hemeroids waiting to happen on the street, ask auxilary.
  18. how is it shifting in any other gear besides first, and how is reverse? i would first bleed the clutch at the slave and get that out of the way of suspects. i would also check the pedal height, you might not be getting enough throw down there. sounds like you need to bleed the hydraulics a bit, because you said you have to pump it to go into first. i had the same thing happen and it turned out to be the pedal height, just reference it to chiltons- i dont remember how high off the floor it should be, but once i set it, it was nice... good luck. gimmie a call if you need helpl
  19. do it. ive had three of those t2s, one of them had a third gen boosting +35psi?? dont know but it was FAST. why not? rotaries are a strange animal aux, 4.11s are good with the high boost, why you ask, cause you shift that thing at 9500 with the low cr rotars, lower numerical gear ratios really stink with the turbo rotaries-factory turbo 2s have 3.9-4.11 and the NA have 3.70. y. weird huh? we got a rotary guy if you need to get a rebuild or just about anything, hes really good. do it if rotaries are talking to you.
  20. OK,now go get that stant part. it doesnt exist anymore, at least in my area, and it isnt chrome like mines be.
  21. the sunset district is the place! dont go to the local yards, they suck, and they want too much for what little they have, best bet is to go to the yards in fremont, richmond, and hayward, they got the good stuff. also, check out the weekly free paper, every other week somebody is trying to give away an SBC. theres a lot of import street wars out here.........
  22. supercharging a z will cost a lot mroe than turboing one, and produce lower hp.
