  1. The rivets are totally non-functional and the wheels actually seem pretty well built when examined closely. For $99 each, I laughed all the way to the bank and can now put slicks on the Panas. I still would not hesitate recommending these for street use.
  2. Look into the hitch type. It will be less destructive to the car. Mud, dirt, grease, won't be falling all over the car. When my Z was the daily driver, I carried windsurfing gear and bikes regularly on the roof rack. It usually made a mess of the car and the rails are still somewhat crushed from the clamps.
  3. It is also a pet peeve of mine. NOT going back to reveal your final answer is VERY selfish. Even if you never found the answer, tell us.
  4. Take the pump off of an old refrigerator and plumb the suction side to the AC loop in the car. It is a pretty good and cheap way to evacuate the system. Let it pump for a few hours.
  5. I think you have two lefts and not a right. classic! I can't place that bracket though....it sure looks like a Z part but I don't think my 280 has one....hmmm.
  6. Yeah you know how many lunches we had where Clive "forgot" his wallet. J/K Clive works very hard for everything you see there!
  7. I thought I was the only one that didn't know this so I didn't post how to fix it....USER CP, OPTIONS, MESSAGE INTERFACE, pick the bottom option.
  8. FIXED IT!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOO LIFE IS GOOD!
  9. Wait a minute!!!! Someone stole my options and buttons......where are they?
  10. Whoops, I don't use IE, I use Opera. Although I was an excellent speller in grammar school.....my screen looks nothing like the screenshots you show.
  11. While we are discussing... Is there anyway to integrate a "speel cheker" into HybridZ? It would certainly help clean up the forums as we proceed into the future. Copying and pasting into Word and vice-versa is a hassle....SuperDan?
  12. Very late follow up. DemonZ, those are the tires I had. They feathered like nobody's business on both my WRX and my Z. Yes alignments were correct. They were so bad that at one point I was looking at prices for new wheel bearings as I though the wheel bearing were worn based on the noise. When I put on the snow tires, the noise went completely away. Another thing you don't get in the review. Look at the channels in the tires. The grooves go from wide to narrow. Gravel gets in those grooves and wedges right into the ends of the grooves. It sounds like you have nails in your tires until you get going about 50mph than they slam into your wheel wells. They also feel very soft-walled in the steering wheel. OTOH, great wet traction. I am absolutely loving my BFG T/A K/D tires. They are silent, very precise, and no tramming. They are very sticky in the dry once they warm up a tiny bit. My only gripe is that they have fairly rounded shoulders which makes them look somewhat less aggressive than they actually are.
  13. Sorry Aux if we kind of hijacked the post. To get back into useful information mode. Check out these Sumitomo HTRZ tires. Someone else on here (memory fails me now) bought these about three months ago so you can possibly get a review of them. The price is right and they are based heavily on the Dunlop D40-M2 tires which kicked @ss in the late 90's and early 00's. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z
  14. I assure you, my GF TA K/D's are 16". They are NOT KDW's they are, the nearly track ready, K/D models. Tirerack.com
  15. I had one custom made many years ago. Any old style rack that clamps to the drip rails will work. The problem is that the roofline is so short that long items are pretty unstable. A bike or two should be fine though. Thule 300 Foot would work on the Z drip rails. An nice alternative would be a hatch mount rack with straps that hook to the top and bottom of the hatch. This is what I would do--> Mount a box hitch to the back of the Z and use a hitch rack. Oh and a word of advice with rear carrying bikes: Make sure the tail pipe is not blowing on your bike tires unless you like them extra crispy.
  16. Z-YA had a dyno day shindig this past weekend in NH. I guess you missed it though, as did I 10lbs+? you better richen the mixture (beer) and pull back some timing (relax). Enjoy!~
  17. I THINK, these are original "sport mirrors" that were either a factory or dealer option. They are metal and were originally black. I am not exactly sure but I think MSA sells plastic knockoffs of these.
  18. I absolutely love the whole color scheme of the car and the motor. I hope it runs as good as it looks! Great work! What coating is on the manifold and valve cover? It looks very nice.

  20. My garage door and the floor behind my Z's tailpipe looks like someone spray painted it black. I get the same thing. Just make sure it's running well, and you are getting the right MPG.
  21. I got out of work early today and spent three hours tuning the MS-II and I took some time to get updated photos with the Sportmax wheels and the new engine layout. Sorry about the weird color cast in the photos. I used the wrong colorspace for the digital processing. Always convert images into sRGB if they are going on the web. These are not sRGB color. 22. Let me know how that works. I have everything I need to make an exhaust vacuum generator. I just need time to do it.
  23. I used the MLV to correct my VE maps today after three 1/2 hour logged/corrected drives. The car is running much better and with the VE table closer to correct, I was able to dial in the AE better. I am again beginning to feel the power of the L28ET come through so I must be getting close.
  24. I got the BFG T/A KD's and they are really sticky with responsive walls and no tramming. The car tracks as if it had power steering. Not sure how the two models are related but I am happy with my BFG's.
  25. Yeah that disc has a sprung center. Mine is solid! No give. All the chatter goes right to my teeth. Where can I get just the Disc? I can't seem to find anyone that sells just the disc.
