I think we should let EvilC either make a decision or start a new thread with a poll. Clive? By the way, TeamNissan, I used to race BMX bikes over at Braddock Park over near you. I used to live right over the GW from you, in da bronx.

Someone is going to have along haul either way because we are all fairly well spread out. The majority balance is in NJ which tends to draw the common sense location towards Northern Jersey or Central Southern, NY. CT would be a haul for everyone in NJ, especially those more Southern. A two hour drive in a well prepared Z would not stop me on a nice day. A rainy day might be a different story. Meriden is 1:30 from me and I am pretty close to CT already. For everyone in NJ, that would be 2+ hours. Danbury is fairly doable though if we want to move it East an hour. http://maps.google.com/maps?client=opera&rls=en&q=danbury+ct&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wl Danbury hosts car shows at "Marcus Dairy" right off of route 84, every weekend. maybe we could tie into that. I think it's on Saturdays for cars and Sundays is Bikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhVPvbmXlm0&mode=related&search=

I just finished looking at the maps and I think to be fair we should do something, near Northern Jersey/NY border. The Paintball field seems like a good spot or to be a little more neutral maybe we can meet in Harriman State Park. There are a few day-use-areas that we can use for parking and hanging out. There are barbecues and benches and tables. There are also places to swim in the lakes along Seven Lakes Drive. Harriman State Park http://maps.google.com/maps?client=opera&rls=en&q=Harriman+State+park&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wl If we do a cruise from Harriman SP, there are plenty of places to cruise to: Cold Spring, NY Millsan's Paintball Field in Jersey Rag's Place Bear Mountain Perkin's Memorial Drive (hillclimb). Route 9, 9D, or 9W wind along the Hudson River. Backroads in the Wanaque areas of Northern Jersey. Should be fun.

Thanks man! LOL. No one even called me today to say Happy Birthday Maybe because the lightning gods still have my phone line... May the boost be with you!

Damage List so far: One Network Card One Router One Answering machine Garage door safety sensors Coffee machine....(I fixed it already reset internal breaker) Cable VOIP Modem..no more VOIP but the internet works. BIOS on my PC wiped...I reloaded it and it works fine. So far that's it. Not too bad considering the amount of electronics we have.

I step on the gas pedal and watch to see if the throttle % gauge moves.

Even if it's less than you hoped for it's still one fast moving vehicle with those numbers. Good luck with finding the gremlin. What systems are you using that might cause the hiccups?

90210....j/k 10579 Z if it don't rain. Otherwise the WRX.

On my old laptop it takes about 10-12 seconds to load an entire msq onto the ECU.

I researched SDS, MS, and some other systems. I chose MS because of the original purchase cost/flexibility, future upgrade-ability, and the amount of support available all over the internet. I figured if I was going to learn to tune, I might as well do it with the cheapest, most "repairable" system I could find. You can get more features from higher end systems. Next time I do a system, I will be much more knowledgeable having been through the MS and can tackle a more advanced system with confidence. MS just seems scary at first but once you turn the key, and the car starts, the clouds dissapear and the tuning all begins to make sense. If you are not looking for the last 1% of performance, MS or SDS will get you running nicely. BTW, MS requires LOTS of reading and careful reading. Sort of a BS in fuel injection for free, but to me, that's a plus.

Yikes, a sanding block! Did anyone else cringe at that. Dude, that's basically putting sandpaper in your crankcase.

Yes, I think I remember that. How are she and she doing together?

I was sittin on my couch reading Classic Motorsports magazine, the baby just fell asleep, wife went upstairs to change for the night. It was not raining, and there was only distant rumbles of thunder but nothing too close. All of a sudden WHAM! Shock and Awe! All the lights flashed, I damn near fell off the couch. My cat, my wife came screaming down the stairs, the baby starts screaming bloody murder, all the smoke dectectors are wailing, one of the baby's battery powered musical toys just starts playing music out of the blue! Talk about adrenaline rush! My wife said she thinks the roof was hit so I go around looking out the windows but see nothing. Lightning is coming down more frequently. She gets the baby under control and I walk into the kitchen to a nasty burning smell. I scope around and notice nothing strange. Not even the clocks are flashing. Weird. The clock in the babys room on the opposite end of the house is the only one that's flashing. I scope around more for the nasty smell in the kitchen. Check the phones...no tone. Holy shyt, the answering machine is smoking, I ♥♥♥♥ you not, "God left a message", Oh crap it's Friday the 13th. I run up to my PC to check for internet. The PC is on but no screen comes up. I reboot and "invalid setup" message pops up forcing me into the BIOS. Holy crap again, the BIOS got WIPED OUT!!! I reload the BIOS and it boots up but no internet. I go to the basement. I find a tripped breaker, a tripped GFCI, and a smoked router. Time to check the well pump. Whew, the pump works! So I jump the line for my office over to the cable modem and get internet. Still no phones though. A project for tomorrow. What a nice way to end Friday the 13th. I need a tall, stiff, drink right about now.

I drove my Z to work today...the long way. It's about a 100 mile round trip and I DID NOT want to stop driving. The car is running so well, I wanted to just drive and drive. So pick a nice day and I'll drive all day. Let's try to make a rain date as well so we have a backup plan. CT sounds nice....but MOST of the list is from Jersey. Northern Jersey or my area would be cool too. It's Putnam Valley, NY somewhat centrally located to most of us. The roads here are phenominal and we probably could use the town park. It has all the amenities, sports fields, sand volleyball, roller hockey..., ..but no alcohol.

I am not sure about the 81 but if it's an 82-83 dist..... There are some jumpers you need to move around on MS-II and add the resistor in the dist wiring. It's detailed on the DIYAutotune page. Did you wire it like they said? http://diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_280zx_turbo.htm Here are some of my settings and msq file updated tonight. http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=774480&postcount=32

Cool! LFS is a really good sim too. Anyone????

The fuel pump should go back on once you start cranking and you get a spark signal I think. I do not believe there are any LED's lit until the car is running. Then you should have one flashing with spark, and one indicating Warmup Enrichment.

The one they made for me is not a showpeice but it is stainless and it breathes well. Good luck on fabricating your own. One thing I have limited experience with is welding. Someday that will change.

Yes, it's a good company but as of late, some strange decisions have been coming down from the top. From the top, it may look like an appropriate direction for the company, but it leaves me with a bad feeling. Being a loyal, manageable, employee, with patents, millions of dollars of documented money saving projects for the company, and I get a, "Need not apply." note when I ask about a minor technical promotion after 11 years. And then top it off with being yanked away from what I love to do....oh well. I can only continue practicing Solidworks and begin networking in the SW community. My wife goes back to work in a few months so I can jump on her benefits plan....once that happens...I'm going to jump ship unless something changes. I have already spoken my feeling about this at work and am waiting to see their response.

This should be very interesting! I can't wait to see the project progress.

It took me about an hour. I did it totally "freehand" just splining, extrude-cutting, and filleting untill it looked right to my mind's eye. If they don't want me to use my skills, I can just sit here, read hybridZ all day and collect a paycheck. However, it's not good for my mind and my future so I am going to shop around for "Solidworks" jobs. I already have the BSME, Machine Design experience, Manufacturing experience, and now I have about 1.5 years of Solidworks under my belt. My only mistake is that I didn't make this company pay for me to go get my masters degree, and they would have. Oh well. I don't care about the money. I want to like what I do, and still have time left over to play with my kid and my car. Moving right along.... It's their loss. Not mine. Jon you are right. I am going up there to edit my statement to be less political....

My job was getting so slow and boring that I started doing work for other departments to keep myself occupied (with permission from my boss). I figured I would keep myself from getting rusty and do design work somewhat related to my hired position, CAD work, and model making. I started to get real popular and people were lined up for my models, and CAD drawings. All of a sudden, I was told to lay off the "extra" work and just do my base job even though I was balancing both with no trouble and for no extra money! Now, my base job is so unchallenging and so light that I will go batty. So attached is what I did this afternoon. LOL. I will be job shopping very soon. I asked for a promotion to another position that I was thoroughly qualified for, and they told me NOT to apply. I was like WTF? I have been here 11 successful years and fully met the requirements! A few weeks later they pulled the job listing, and added a single, minor, requirement to it, out of the blue, to make me unqualified for it. My track record with the company is golden, but I refuse to kiss A$$ so I live with the consequences. Big Corporations Rock!!! <-Edited
