  1. This is awesome. Â I love to see criminals go down in flames.
  2. I used stock mount on the diff  and trans for now.  I just changed out all the bushings for black poly.  I've been pecking at the car here and there. The interior is almost complete. The engine bay is almost fully dressed. The car is ready for wheels. Once it's rolling, I will back it outside and build the motor for it. I polished up the paint on the drivers front fender. Lots of "age" on the paint. It came out really nice though. I hope the rest of the paint comes out as nicely.
  3. I was going to say that, but in his defense, he never mentioned anything about public roads...
  4.  By removing the front bumper, you have allowed a lot more air into the open nose.  That air is getting into the engine bay and pushing up against the underside of your hood.  Simply blocking off a good portion of the grill will get you where you were, or better. This is all covered in the aero thread section. You want the air to go around or over the car, not into the engine bay or under the valence, generally speaking
  5. LOL. Â Fittings worth more than the regulator! Â It's my stock turbo fuel rail pressure regulator converted to AN.
  6. I like that safety feature. Â The motor blows out of the vehicle and acts as a wheel chock to safely stop you!
  7. We are not expecting anything! We have birth control in the form of a 3 year old that runs like a Nuclear Reaction run a muck. Â
  8. In honor of their victory, I shall refer to my Z as a Zed for one full day!
  9. Not sure if this applies here but here is a tip that helps me access the manifold bolts. Â Use just the right amount of socket extensions to reach completely past the carb inlets. Â Put a universal joint and a short 12mm socket on the end. Â Wrap one or two wraps of duct tape around the u-joint. Â Tape each of the extensions together if you don't have locking ones. Â The tape keeps the socket and u-joint straight but lets is flex just enough to find a sollid home on the manifold nuts.
  10. Thanks to New York State Gas and Electric for getting our power up just in time for the game! Â Great game but I agree, US was out played. Â Congrats Eh!
  11. Â I'm back on the grid!! Â Thursday 6pm to Sunday 3pm without juice. Â They got it fixed ahead of schedule! Â The problem we have, is that the terrain is steep, and the woods are dense and jungle like. Â We don't see this kind of snow often and the trees are not conditioned for it. Â They can't handle the loads. Â We also tend to get ocean warmed snow which is very wet and sticky. Â It sticks to EVERY little branch and then freezes in place. Â Thankfully, this storm didn't end with a cold front, which would have easily toppled about 50% of the mature trees. Â The winds were almost dead calm, and we lost power for that long. Â Had there been a breeze it would have been much worse. Up the right side of this photo is a driveway that goes up the hill. Â Can you see it?
  12. We got hammered up here. No power for about five days. No phones. Cell towers out. Half of the roads impassible. Lucky we have firewood and generator. 240Z project blocked by heavy snow. See you soon. Sending from cell on some lan i found.
  13. I do play a Yamaha acoustic a lot more than the Gibson.  The Sonex has a bolt on neck.  A cost saving measure.  It still sounds great though.  It has a wood core body with some sort of high density, plastic(epoxy?) shell over the core.  They are available with solid and laminated necks.  There were four versions made. Thanks for the amp advice, I will check out that amp.  I really need a decent amp.  Thanks.
  14. He is just adding up receipts. Â Something you just can't do when selling a modified car. Â Good luck to him. Â If it does sell at that price, all of our cars values just went up. Check the link I posted in the LINKS section here for determining collector car values.
  15. My 1972 240Z was an automatic. I bought it as a roller. The four speed I am installing has a reverse and neutral switch. The engine bay harness has four wires that enter the tunnel from the engine bay, on the passengers side, and then two more connectors that enter the tunnel on the drivers side. I think the wires are for: Pair One: Reverse (R and RB) Pair Two: Some sort of neutral safety from the auto. Pair Three: No clue. What wires connected to the automatic trans or ran into the tunnel from the engine bay? What functions were on the auto? I knnow I can just short most of them out but I still want to ID them. The FSM is not helping. Not detailed enough. Thanks! Dave
  16. I have two choices at the bottom left. IP. board and HybridZ lo fi. Now its blue-green anyhow. I like it. I too prefer darker colored sites. What are our color/scheme options supposed to be, if any?
  17. I really want to see a Z in a satin color. I think a dark silver or graphite would rock. I really like what you are doing with the black one jkgts1! Keep the pics coming.
  18. Can the site color scheme be changed? I am not asking you to do it. Just asking if it can be done, and a can poll be taken to chose a color scheme. BTW not fond of the maroon/grey. I actually prefer the blue green when I am not logged in. Much more relaxing but I will respect whatever decisions you make....or can it be changed in my profile on a user basis?
  19. B-C-D-D Valve. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/70142-bcdd-removed-now-backfires-at-downshift/page__view__findpost__p__673663
  20. Other than the weight of the body on my Sonex, it's a great sounding instrument. Easy to play too. I am a beginner, playing (fooling around) for 20 years lol. Good info. My brother just picked up a "lawsuit" Penco. Sunburst knockoff.
  21. Testing out the search feature of the new forum software. I dug up this old thread...which reminded me to dig out my old AXE. Gibson Sonex 180 Standard. VIntage early 80's. Originally satin black, I repainted the body in Corvette yellow. Tone of a Les Paul without the $$$. Not me:
