  1. i too would recommend a stim board ONLY if you assemble it yourself. i mean you can use it with a pre-assembled unit to see if there are any failures or shorts in the future.. but you dont need it
  2. Man this is an OLD thread... and really outdated pictures.. here ya go http://www.cardomain.com/ride/330795/13
  3. I had the same problem when I had the twice pipes installed on my 280z... years and years ago when I had no idea what I was doing. Twice pipe exhaust is designed for a 240z.. not a 280z. It will require work and fitting for a 280z
  4. haha thats funny as for the movie itself.. eh. no interest in watching it to be honest
  5. gogriz91.. im confused by your signature.. "Day/Night VFR street fighter" tell me the story!
  6. Sean.. excellent pictures, but the front wheels need to be adjusted properly Take a peak at some car magazines and photo shoots.. The direction the wheels are turned with angle the photo was taken isn't working very well for me.
  7. I think a lot of people confuse sequential twin turbo's.. or just a set of parallel twins. Everyone i've talked to talks about how quickly the twins spool up and provide full boost over a single turbo.. then we have the long talk about sequential setups lol Now a *true* sequential turbo setup does have it's advantage... BUT thats not 100% feasible and more costly for building it yourself.
  8. yeh the extension cord is primarily the biggest issue.. the welder will only pull 15a at max... so the 14ga wiring in the house is fine. 12 ga would be for a 20a circuit. As long as all the lights or appliances on the same circuit are off he should be able to weld perfectly fine. Good advice though =)
  9. why did you buy the STIM board when you purchased a pre-assembled unit?!
  10. man I wish I could stick weld and get good results!! it really depends on the stock you get!! make sure you choose the right one!!
  11. Drive to a SCCA event or any open track event.. they will tell you to remove them.. they are NOT secured. You might need a refresh on physics.. the boxes and amp will not simply "slide forward" and run into a lip. They will be catapulted into the air. If you think I am joking.. ask an inspector. and ask your local high school physics teacher
  12. Umm... the links don't work! J/k lol
  13. wow... where the hell is the shifter on Tyler's project? lol remote shifter?
  14. Justin I meant to say the flange is cut in two *places*.. which would mean 3 total pieces. The "washers" from the intake manifold to hold the flange down just worries me .. if not torqued to spec or the bolts become loose at all.. the flange will shift all over under the washer.
  15. bad idea.. if you get into an accident those speakers and amplifier will RIP off the Velcro and catapult itself into the front of the car.. or YOU. find a way to mount them better
  16. I remember reading an article about the Mitsubishi Evo 9 with aerodynamics work on the front bumper with small diffusers right before the front wheels. It was a really neat picture of the underside of the front bumper.. Now I can't find it.. grr. But it's exactly like what your talking about John!
  17. Oh Jon I didn't even think about your post about the airflow around the sides of the car.. oops! I was just thinking about where the air could go when under a car. I'm sorry! I should of read your post about the semi's lol. Otherwise Jon, I completely agree with you.
  18. Having VG's on the front splitter of the car will help organize the airflow.. like mentioned above.. but a full smooth underbelly/under tray like on race cars would be useless.. there is no flow separation UNDER the car except at the rear of the car.. which diffusers sort out. Now air separates and exits out of the sides as well.. but VG's would be pointless on the sides of a car.. thats why race cars are so low or add side skirts. In our case.. adding VG's on the front splitter for our Z's would help since our cars have a wild mess and lots of interference and parts sticking out... and I suppose adding VG's on the bottom of the stock gas tank would help too, but nothing noticeable.
