  1. it would be so very easy to make a mold and cast them in epoxy. I could walk you through it if you want. I do it all the time. I'm a model maker. Wouldn't take more than a few hours total work time plus material cure time etc.
  2. Do you know his parents names and where they are from. Where he went to highschool and what year he graduated. College etc? Did he leave a forwarding address with the post office? Other wise it gets really hard. If you had his social security number it would be easy.
  3. my shop we have pvc pipe that is just pvc glued together. We have a huge compressor and run up to 100 psi. Holds just fine.
  4. This is it. I posted it for you. I needed the practice.
  5. don't know if this will help or not but here it goes. On my 78, I had a similiar problem when cold. I would get it started and it would backfire when I touched the throttle when cold. That is if it started. Finally I brought it in to the shop. This is what was wrong. I had accidentaly crossed my thermotime switch with my temp sender(the wires) I had replaced the wires a little while before when it was warm and the symptoms hadn't shown untill it was cold. My ecu was getting the wrong reading and was causing it to run lean or rich (not sure). So, check your wires and make sure they are going where they should be. Most shops don't know if they are wrong, but I had brought it to the Z Doctor and they having been a Z place for so long checked this after the first 1/2hour of testing. I got lucky. It was a cheap fix. And it really fixed the problem. Good luck, I hope it get fixed.
  6. I believe it just means that you have posted in it. Just shows you if you have invested any thoughts and a reminder if you want to read it later to see what others have posted afterwards.
  7. liquid cooled led's? I thought led's were liked because they produced so little heat? I saw that car on TLC. They had a whole show on the design to full scale prototype. I like it in blue with white stripes better. The aluminum is pretty sweet though. But wouldn't it be easy to dent? Although it could be anodized. That would be cool.
  8. Looks awesome. I have loved those since they first came out. How is it really? A lot of room inside? Drive nice? Fast? How much are they stock and loaded? I should just go to the dealer and test drive for fun. Not in the market and it is american which I still don't care for (reliability issues). I know american cars are getting way better and all. Just can't drive them 200 plus thousand miles with no issues like those imports. But I do love the design. Just looks mean.
  9. best bet, just to make sure. Have it measured at an allignment place. Then you can spend money on adjustable parts etc if you have to.
  10. when my master went it went slow, took weeks to fully go. Didn't leak anywhere either. After replacing master and slave everything was fine. Good luck
  11. i've got the Tockico 1" lowering springs on my car with the tokico blue struts. The springs aren't really stiff, (180lbs rear I think) but it is an amazing change from stock. Car really handles well now.
  12. I could drink guiness forever. It is the best on tap and of course in Ireland. Just sooooo gooood!
  13. show pics man! I'd love to see them. Just don't drink soda. It's way better than diet anyway.
  14. wickedwild, what are they? Offset etc? They are universal bolt pattern right? 4x100 and 4x114.3? Did you use spacers etc? They look GREAT!
  15. For now just swap the wheel from your 240 with that of your 260. Since the earlier steers fine if that is the problem then problem solved. What is the wheel on the 240? Stock? Most wheels are like 13-14" dia. Mine is a 14" and is fine. Would one inch make that much difference?

  17. o.k. so I found the answer to the question I am typing over. Here is what I asked? What other cars have the same bolt pattern 114.3 4 lug as the z? This is what I found with the years available after: Honda: prelude 92-96 prelude si 92-96 accord 4 lug 1990-96 Toyota: celica 76-85 cressida 85-88 supra 79-82 supra L 83-85 Ford: Maverick, Mustang 64-74 Accura: Legend 86-90 Infinity: g20 91-96 M30 90-92 Mercury: Topaz 88-90 Mazda: rx7 gsl/se 84-88 626 83-87 Mitsubishi: Galant 85-96 Mirage 85-92 Starion 83-87 Volvo: 40 series 98+ Nissan: Altima 93-01 Sentra 83-86 Stanza 19-92 200sx + turbo 84-88 240sx 89-96 300zx 84-86 I found most of this on this website: http://www.custom-spinning-car-truck-rims-wheels.com/bolt_patterns.htm I know this answered some questions I had. I hope it can help someone else. Now I can look at junk yards for cheap 15x6 rims if I want just to get the front brakes (4x4) on the car.
  18. this is a great thread. Unfortunately most links don't work. The pics I see are great though and good info.
  19. ok thanks. I have checked out tire rack and looked at there tech info. I understand what offset is now. They usually don't tell you what the back spacing is on wheels. But I suppose that is easy enough math. Is it best though to have the wheels set up with a zero offset for performance reasons? Or to have them look good and fit? A 40+mm offset is 1.57" toward the outside (streetside) of the wheel. This would set the wheel in closer to the strut by 1.57" correct? So a spacer is going to be needed to keep it from rubbing the strut etc? Unfortunately no one has info on rims in there data base. Etc us I guess. I have been reading all the posts on wheels but I only get tid bits here and there. I know for sure I am keeping the 4x4.5 lug spacing (maybe buy the honda adapters if the right rim comes along) but I don't want to go thru the trouble with converting to 5 lug. 15,16,or 17" wheels 7 inches wide. I know there are plenty of wheels out there, that I like too. Most though are 40mm positive offset though. So what are my options I guess?
  20. Thanks, that is good to hear.
  21. hey, those are nice wheels. Question though. 40 mm offset is almost 2". So with a 40 mm spacer do you need to replace the bolts? I am just learning about wheels as I am now looking into buying (really saving) for some. Popular wheels I have found on ebay have like a 45mm offset and have the correct lug pattern. So, with a spacer is that all that is needed to get it to be a zero offset? And if so then are the bolts long enough. I continue to pour over the old posts looking for answeres but I thought I would ask too. Thanks as always
  22. Hey thanks. That is just the info I needed. Do you have any idea why they closed? And Orinda isn't far at all. If I am in need I will surely remember you. Thanks again.
  23. I know there is a place in San Leandro CA that will mix color and put it in a spray can for you. I can't remember there name though or if they ship. But I am sure that if they do this kind of thing that there are other paint suppliers that can and will. Call around and ask.
  24. Thought I would share. I know a lot of you guys thought they were pricey and all. But they were my only garage out here. I haven't had much done to the Z in the last few years. But they were always honest fair people I really trusted. It was nice to have guys 20 minutes away with parts if you needed them fast. They were also really nice when I first bought the car and knew nothing about it or cars. I swear this one time John from there talked to me for an hour one day on the phone trying to help me diagnose and fix a problem I had. This was months before I met HybridZ. Not many shops would take that kind of time with someone they barely knew. I didn't mind one bit paying them to work on my car. Also liked being able to see everyones Z's that were in the shop or waiting for people to pick them up. So Richmond California's Z Doctor is gone. Thought I would share. I am just kind of sad is all. I now need a new shop in the Oakland Area that I can trust. I don't need anything done to the car now, but it would be nice to know. So, anyone trust anyone in the Oakland area with there Z's?
