  1. Last week I fired it up on jackstands with MS v3.0, and it cranked immediately on the very first try. Seems to be running ok! Bled the clutch today, fired it up, drove it around the block and then to the Louisiana Z club meeting. Only problem is that AZ-Z brakes seem awful hard to bleed. I'm going to bleed them again, but I am having trouble getting all the air out...using the 79 280zx MC. (I think this is my new sig!) Have to go get all the adjustable suspension aligned before I can really tune it. I have ridiculous camber right now.
  2. I'd say, if you want simple and reliable, scrap the stock EFI harness and use a relay board. I have no regrets.
  3. Do you have an FSM? That would tell you for sure. In my 77 it was definitely part of the combo relay you mentioned. In my 78 it's seperate. I would definitely run your own relay.
  4. I'm looking forward to trying out an ACT Sprung hub 6puck. I like my unsprung ACT 6puck just fine. It didn't take me long to get used to it.
  5. Building a 3.0L and getting 250hp out of it is going to cost a heck of a lot more than just getting a junkyard L28ET and going through it. Actually it probably costs more than swapping in an SBC.
  6. A movement is accomplished in six stages And the seventh brings return. The seven is the number of the young light It forms when darkness is increased by one. Change returns success Going and coming without error. Action brings good fortune. Sunset.
  7. Yeah, but now that I posted those you might as well follow my lead.

  9. Did your old springs have it sitting the way you want? A friend of mine with the JTR kit had to cut his stock front springs to get the car looking normal again, because it was too high in the front.

Make sure your driveshaft bolts and the halfshaft bolts you just put on are still tight. Check the mustache bar nuts, your diff mount, and look at the strap on top of the diff and make sure it's in the right spot. Hopefully it's something small.
  11. I hate to say it but I utterly failed with the HEI as well - I bought 2 different HEI's, brand new, wired them exactly as instructed, couldnt' get any spark. I know tons of people use the HEI, so I don't know what I was doing wrong, but it just would not work. I hooked the MSD up and had the car running in 2 minutes.
  12. Yes, definitely drive it as is and work on the suspension, brakes, etc first. You need everything in good working order before you have real power anyway, and the Z's stock 170bhp is pretty fun as is. I always drove my basically stock L6 77 about 10x harder than my turbo 78, because I didn't have to worry nearly as much about losing control. Then, when everything is running pretty smoothly, go buy another Z, and prep that one for an engine swap. You won't ever want to have to drive a civic every day once you've been driving a Z.
  13. Freakin awesome!!!! You've got to post some pics soon, we're dying here!
  14. Maybe you are referring to other people calling this a "fake RHD car" (which was never my issue) but since you said "the attitude" of this site, I'm going to have to respond. I asked the seller for some better pictures, and he sent me a page full of other people's pictures. I don't see anywhere in the thread you posted where anyone verifies that the person who made that listing actually has any of those parts or that car. Ebay is great, but it's also got it's share of scam artists. Once you've been ripped off once or twice, you learn to be careful. I don't believe a cautious "attitude" is anything to be ashamed about.
  15. Hey guys, I have a suggestion. MSQ files are specific to the firmware you're running, so it is REALLY helpful to post screenshots or at least exported tables (*.vex) as well. I assume what most of us really want to check out is the VE and spark tables. I hope to fire up the car tomorrow, so I'll post my MSQ then. I just spent about 30 minutes converting my old 8x8 spark table to 12x12 so I can post that. Not sure if it's optimal or anything though. Specs: overbored L26/P79, MSSE 29q2, 83 dist, MSD, BPR7ES plugs .033
  16. http://www.freewebs.com/pallnet/products.htm <--incredibly satisfied customer - 3 rails + tons of other z parts.
  17. I can't speak for the other guys, but I wasn't making an accusation, just an observation. It seems very suspicious to me to be selling 25k of parts/car with only 1 blurry picture of the car, especially when all the rest of the pics belong to other z owners and resellers. That's usually a trademark of a scam. I certainly hope it's legit, I know people who are geniunely interested.
  18. I would have said "bad selling technique" before he put up the yahoo listing. Not one of those pictures is original. Extremely suspicious.
  19. I get dizzy just thinking about the cost, but if I'd thrown down for a GTO kit, I can't think of a more appropriate swap.
  20. He says he spent 25k - very believable. I'd say re-sale on everything was about 21k. If I was looking for this kind of project, I'd pay 15-16 or so including my plane ticket to inspect it in person first, and shipping.
  21. Yeah, I can't imagine not having a wideband to use with a programmable EMS. It's the best 200$ you could spend.
