So where do you live?

Einstein did nothing after he got married because his wife just married him in order to publish her papers under his name. There were many times when he couldn't answer in-depth questions on them. On-topic - marriage should never be a compromise. Rational minds have no conflicts of interest.

Yes, you definitely don't want to use line-locks for a parking brake. Even if they hold pressure, the seal will be deformed over time. I called Wilwood and they said absolutely do not leave the brakes applied for long periods of time for this reason. When I went with Dave's brakes I decided not to use the parking brake - just leave it in gear. No more turbo timer, but I never drove super hard into a parking lot and then immediately shut the car off anyway. Also no more remote start. Oh, the sacrifices we have to make for big brakes. So the only thing I really wanted was the handbrake functionality to lock up the rear tires by themselves, in order to quickly spin the car around a 180' turn (there have actually been some autocross courses where I needed to do this.) Not exactly critical but it would be nice. Dave told me he was in contact with someone who was going to make a special linelock setup that could accomplish this with the stock handbrake. It was supposed to be ready to sell about 18 months ago. I've been bugging him ever since but it's always "next month." I'm looking forward to trying it out when it comes out. This is all assuming I can find the leak in my front brake system - been trying to get them operational for over a year now.

Need Advice: Driving a 35 Year old Car Cross Country 1776 Miles
Forrest replied to JSM's topic in Non Tech Board
If this is purely a matter of cost, have it shipped. If you hate driving long distances, have it shipped. For me personally I would absolutely drive it (and have, although it was only 600 miles.) Bring some tools, flashlight, a voltmeter, an FSM, and a cell phone. Risk makes life worth living! -
Just to clarify, these are two circuits on the same board - you can use either one with a jumper. With the 82-83 you use the optical CAS for your signal and hence you use the optical sensor/hall sensor circuit.

Don't buy MS unless you are willing to read the documentation. Most people who have problems skip this step. The great part is that you can read it all before you buy it. MS probably has the strongest online community of any aftermarket EMS, too.

Did you get my check? Thanks, -Forrest

I'm running NGK BPR7es (non-11), gapped at 0.032 @ 15psi.

John, trust me, there were lots of us that didn't miss it. I'm a broke graduate student and I almost used your buy-it-now anyway. I liked most of the body mofidications and I thought the price should have been about double. I tried very hard to get someone local to me to buy it so I could at least ride in it. Sorry you had to let it go, but I know how much fun the rwd gts corollas are too...my brother has an 87.

That sounds like you set your idle settings during warmup and when the car warmed up it removed the warmup enrichment and went lean. Also, MS has enrichment settings for accel and decel. Trying "rich maps" and "lean maps" aren't going to get you anywhere - make your own map by hand or from logs. No offense (seriously) but it doesn't sound like you read the manual yet. If you are not willing to do that then yes, you will have to pay someone else to, or use a different system(which will also require reading) and pay someone else to tune that too. Good luck.

That's definitely a scam, I've heard about it from many different people in the sports car community. If they were going to give you 5k they wouldn't be charging an application fee.

Zcar.com - for those times you want to see how many wrong answers to your question are possible. That is assuming you can read them, with all the grammar and spelling mistakes.

Whats the one part you want for your Z, but cannot have?

So what's all that white stuff in the background? Having never even seen tire chains before, do they normally only go on drive wheels? Or all the way around?
-
Finally got a copy and loved it, although I'm curious about the accuray on a couple of points. I've read quite a few history books on the Z and Mr. K's biography, and I don't remember him being credited with the creation of the Tokyo Motor Show. I also thought it was strange they didn't mention the fight over the name of the car, since it was so germane to their primary theme. Overall, very well done.

Both my z's run, but the brakes on my turbo car are still f'd up. I hate life.

Preparing for my turbo build, input is appreciated - parts list inside
Forrest replied to ktm's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
There's no reason to spend 270$ on an FPR. You can even use the stock one. I'd add a wideband controller and sensor like the LC-1 to your second list. Also, I'd put an aftermarket downpipe higher than several of the things on that list. Good luck! -
What Are You Guys Going To Buy With Your Tax Return?
Forrest replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
I never get anything "back" but I do take the occasion to celebrate my yearly reminder of slavery with ammo purchases. Look, a sale on .50BMG -
Dude, I have an M44, it's fun. And opening the ammo cans with a giant can-opener has a novelty all it's own. Have you thought about getting a C&R? For me it was the same price as one transfer, and less trouble. I think I bought 9 or 10 rifles with it before letting it expire - most of them were in awesome shape and less than 100$ mailorder.

You should have told him "I guess you're what they call a rip-off artist."

Only anime I've ever seen that had a 240z was the eX-Driver movie.
