  1. Your trying to put a new ignition switch in? There is a small T. It would best if you turn the little T with your key till it flat, then do the same with your switch, it will then slide in.
  2. 100% hands free cold start, warmed up and idling below 1k. ITB and IAC playing nicely.
  3. Gosh this should be a 10x easier upgrade over triples. What did the kit run you?
  4. Well I am a liar. My wiring was wrong. Iac wasn’t even working. But it lets by 20% air or so with 0 volts. So this is cold start with 20% air going by. On my haltech You can set voltage at a percentage of 0-12v. So roughly set the lowest voltage it can go to 33%. Should work, but to be determined. I need to run a new DPO wire

  6. I promised my wife rock solid starts/ modern starts when I went down this ITB rabbit hole. Once my car is warm, I don't need it. I do not like a car idling at 1000 rpms when warm though. I like around 850-900 rpms. I will use timing and IAC for idle control. The Haltech Elite 750 can't do a stepper motor.

  8. ITB with IAC take 3. My last bmw IAC wouldn’t play nice with my haltech (basically it’s the opposite of how haltech controls it). This one let’s by a tiny bit of air at full closed. I plan to see if I can set the butterfly’s and it to play nicely and not idle too high when the engine is warmed up. Fingers crossed.
  9. There are plenty of 500 hp motors you can swap in. Why that one? Not a pretty motor by any means.
  10. Church on facebook might be a better place for this question. Plenty of guys with DSI ITB motors on there. Is your a plenum or ITB? or even turbo.
  11. Well Tons if fiddling and swear words. I now have 100% throttle engagement from the gas pedal. Turns out prior I only had like 70%. I normally work from the engine bay and I could always get 100% from there. Whoops FullSizeRender.MOV
  12. I ended up getting new injectors. These are 35lb and they have a traditional 20 degree cone spray pattern. Prior I have a v pattern designed for DOHC motors. Squirting at two valves. Hopefully the work a little better. They are slightly longer. But I got them to work.
  13. I am using a mid 80s bmw iac valve. I was having a hard time finding a hose that looked good and would hold the vac without collapsing. Then it dawned on me, maybe one meant for the same bmw. Fits awesome and is exactly the right size for my balance bar. Stoked
  14. My friend swapped my clutch and fixed some bugs. But putting my center console back in, he pinched a wire on the o2 sensor. Shorted and burnt my dual o2 cam sensor up. Darn it. The old saying no good deed goes unpunished

  16. One of my issues so far with running is my injectors that fit nicely into the throttles are a V stream. So I believe they are just spraying on the walls. I am going to switch out to DeatschWerks 18U-00-0035-6. Single cone spray. They use the same connector. Hopefully I can get the correct orings to deal well. Tioga told me to do this in the start. I should have listened.

  18. He is claiming he wants to remake the FIA head. Time will tell, he seems to have deep pockets.
  19. This is one of the reasons I am trying to move my ITB to a fuel rail/ injectors at the head. I plan to use my sk throttes, or go EFI hardware. Then a balance tube at my throttle bodies with hollow injector bungs. This intake out of Japan.

  21. Most people use LS coils. I used R35 coils. None of the coils are smart:) Most have igniters built in these days.
  22. We use tin foil over the end, then poke a few holes, let it purge/ fill for 10 or so minutes for a longer piece. Keep the gas going while welding. The joints should be clean and as close as possible. No filler rod
  23. Mostly smoke and just really dirty.
  24. Well sadly my ported E31 head was in an engine shop fire. Luckily my 3.1L was pretty far away from the flames. Well lots of elbow grease and 4 hours in my vapor blasting cabinet and it looks as good as new!. Now time to have it put back together.
