Voted best post 2010! As for the whole thing. I act like I do on the internet around girls a lot of the time. Most of the time it makes them laugh, at me or with me is still a good thing. As for the shower, washing arms doesn't always keep it clean. I work in a shop 10-11 hours a day. Washing arms is no good. I cant really get clean if I don't wash my entire body like 2 times minimum with strong soap. I almost have to shower with fast orange! Just clean the shower, I think the bathroom would be a huge killer while living with a girl. Don't let the toilet get all nasty and don't make her clean it. General neatness while maintaining being a guy should be alright.

You know, I was just thinking, I don't know what it is, or why it happened. Many of us just can't get enough of the last letter of the alphabet. YES, the letter Z, and I mean the cars. I got one crazy rusty one, hated it, finally got something else. After that I found I wanted another z. Well, I got it, drove it, found it to be super rusty, wanted a better one. Well I have that better one now, yet I still find myself trying to find another one while the one I have is in the garage. It gets all my time and money, every bit of it. I don't know why, I could have bought a way better, probably faster, car for much less than what I will end up having in this car. Do I really care? No, I spend time arguing with people about how its different, how that money is different than if I used it or less on a already done up car. My life seems to revolve around cars in the first place, I work on cars for a living. I plan on going to school for automotive tech. Then I put all of this cars, into one car, specifically and S30 for me. I don't want an S130, a z32 z32 z33 or any of that. It has to be an S30 for me. How about you, what do you think? How do you feel? Modern

Yea, you know the funny part is, dealers don't say that anymore. The new model is better, buy it, not, oh yea, new model, don't worry, we would rather you just continue making yours stay a good car. Nobody wants a decent used car anymore, everything has to be new or it isn't good enough. My brothers senior year in economy they told him you have 5,000 to make a down payment on a new car, what are you going to buy for how much and why. My brother told the teacher he was going to be a 3-5,000 dollar used car. The teacher told him he was wrong? Things have changed, and not for the better. I would say laugh out loud, but its not really funny.

Bob, so very true, that is my dads, we can't find a new gate for cheap. People want around 300 for a 03 dodge tail gate. Two80z4me, What do you have to trade me? I wouldn't mind a crazy swap in my 240sx but I can't have it down for more than 1 or maybe 2 days. Obviously its a daily, would have to stay that way. Say bring me a 350 with a t56, help wire, make mounts, and get a driveshaft and you can have the KA and the trans, runs great, supposed 120k on it. No noises or anything. K?

I realize I don't have nearly as much money as most of you. My DD is a 1990 240sx, DOHC swap and 2 1/2 exhaust with a cheap muffler. Sounds like crap, does the job. Pictures will be edited in a little.

Old school? Why old school? High tech would be better. It will be done better. Just because they do more new cars doesn't mean they can't do an older one just a good.

At 43MPH I think any number of turbo z cars could get close to 30mpg. LOL

I think what I did was, the pads just weren't bedded yet so I glazed them over when I hit the brakes really hard. They seem to be ok now. Thanks for the replies.

Well, I found a 240sx I liked. Wanted one a long time ago, before I even got into z's. I got one, z is much more fun to drive. This car started as, it drove fine. Could use rear pads. Well. I messed with it. The clutch started messing up. Found out the pedal was worn out. Welded up the hole and re drilled it. Now that works. I put on the rear pads. I think I pretty much lit the new pads on fire. Stopped really hard at a red light so I didn't run it because I just got the car and haven't registered it yet. Running a light isn't a good idea. Stopped at the next light and a guy was like "your brakes are burning". I look back to see my right rear pads is SMOKING! I hope the pads are alright, I didn't turn the rotors but I probably should have. one was alright the other was pretty bad. I am going to drive the car after work a bit tomorow and see if they get really hot again. They don't feel like they are dragging. I turned the car off and pushed it with ease. The pedal does feel a tad stiff though. I think my rear calipers may be bad. Basically just wanted to let you know of my experience. I think I am going to stop buying nissans though, they are just to annoying to work on. I swear nissan did everything possible to make it a pita to work on their cars. That way you take it to a dealership.

Yea, I wonder what goes though mine when I am modifying my z. I sure know it isn't, I hope people like this. Most of the time it only matters if I like it. That Z there is a true hybridz because it is what it is.

That had to hurt? Are you sore? If my z ever gets crashed, I will probably break down into tears. All of your hard work man, sorry to hear and see that. I really hope it all works out. If nothing else maybe you can find a decent shell to swap it into. Maybe even a 240z?

I can't stand fwd. I don't want something that holds it's value because well, then it is more expensive. I am a broke kid that is trying to build a z car and do it in a way it ends up decent. Don't say well if your broke don't build a car, I don't care what anybody says, life is to short to not do what I want to do and enjoy it. I just want something for a low $ that I can drive. If I get a FWD cheap, that's fine, but RWD is preferred.

One is an AZ car and isn't rusty, at all. The other seems to be a rust bucket. I am not buying them cause they are cheap, or to make money, my idea is to basically just get out what I put in two from one. So 800 from one. That or it will be scrapped, I don't have room for two cars. I need something to DD while the Z is being put together. I am sharing the Impreza with my brother and its getting to be a PITA. As far as electrical issues, they both seemed to start and run great. They drove fine, I figure the rusty one is a donor for a few quick parts and then scrap. Maybe pull the engine and put it in a z? HAHA They sounds pretty sweet I think. Not sure power wise. One has 175k+ the rusty one, speedo works "Most of the time" meaning it has more. The other one has 202k. Like I said, both start and run fine. I would just buy one but then I would be buying some parts. Belts will just be replaced brand new. $10 a piece for 2 belts. No reason to be a cheap a**. Other than that The rad would just get swapped over, not spending 120 on one. Replace all the bulbs to be safe and swap the interior from the rusty one over (super clean, blue but nice). I figure with a few routine maintenance things and a few hundred extra into one it would be a reliable daily. Just trying to see what others have experience. Thanks for the responses.

Be careful with that tire rubbing. The 72 springs I think are smaller for the person above in question, don't quote me on that though. Looks good, oh and thanks for shopping with Discount tire. You know we could have ordered the wheels from xxr for you right?

Hey guys, I have the chance to buy two Volvo 240DL wagons for 800 dollars. They both run and drive. I only drove one of them the other needs some brake work and alternator belts. Does anybody on here own one of these? I am trying to decide if it would be a good choice. The one I drove was quite rusty, the other one looked pretty solid. I was thinking use the parts from the one I drove on the other one so I could make one solid car. That or fix up one and sell it and drive the other with a little work. The rusty one was rusty and needed new front strut assembly's because some stuff had broken and was rubbing. Other than that, a brake bleed and it was good to go. Had receipt from 400 dollars of brake work in late 2008. It also had a new exhaust on it but one of the welds had broken, easy fix. The other one will need a radiator, the belts, probably at least brake pads and bled then it should be good to go. one had bad interior, the other was in great shape.
