  1. If you guys are anything like me, even if your car was perfect you would find something to do or just start another project!! Evan
  2. Not looking toot my own horn here, but I am pretty sure I was one of the first ones to do this swap. Its not exactly bolt-on but close enough for any average car geek to get up and running. I would love to give details, but I did it so long ago I have forgotten most of em! Wiring is plug and play. Evan http://forums.racebread.com/index.php?topic=923.0 is the original thread I made when I figured this situation out. If you build your own upper mount, make sure its super rigid else the alternator will twist under high load.
  3. I had a simaler problem when my fans would kick on. It turned out to be a belt alignment/tension problem. I installed a nissan quest alternator and that helped alot.
  4. That ebay one is the same as this... http://www.geocities.com/chmwatson/FAQs/mbc.html I messed around with different spring rates and was able to get really good spool. I am happy with it for sure. I got mine from ace hardware, and ended up using a larger diameter stiffer one then he recommends. I am running 20psi with no creep. Evan
  5. Do a search for Manual boost controller DIY. I am using a basic home made unit with good results. Evan
  6. Thats a very nice specimen but still.. thats cashy!
  7. Looks great! I can't wait to see how it works out for you. Very cool. Nice to see something different. Evan
  8. IMO your running out of fuel for some reason. I had a CBR600 that did the same thing with a clogged feed to the carbs. Would not go past a certain speed. Evan
  9. Phil, I don't have audio on my laptop... What happened to the turbo? Did the bearing section fail? Or the wheel? Evan
  10. You didn't have the flywheel surfaced? You really need to take it easy on that clutch for 300 miles or so. If it slips now, it can glaze the clutch. This problem could be compounded by the flywheel not being resurfaced. Evan
  11. Make sure you get a DOHC motor.. and realistically you are gonna have to spend a ton of cash to make 4-500hp. IMO build a stock-ish setup and make 365 or so to start, you will be shocked how fast your car is with that setup. I say game on man... check out http://www.ka-t.org/forums/ Evan
  12. Well, I would assume they are a somewhat common part so you may ask a marina.
  13. The S14/13 subframes are different dimensionally by just a little bit. Either one should work, it has been said the S14 is a superior design. I don't know if thats more to chassis integration or what..
  14. ^ Its much different from the S30, but with enough fab I guess anything can work. Keep in mind, the rack on a 240sx is mounted behind the crossmember and I think the Z is in front? Its been so long since I was under a z! Evan
  15. I had a 1996 S-10 4cyl as my first vehicle. Very turd like in speed, but a good truck all around. Took my abuse fabulously! That said, I got t-boned in it and walked away. Get something safe for sure! Best of luck! Evan
  16. Marine manifolds are almost always watercooled, is there evidence of an inlet/outlet for water? Pretty cool looking, but I doubt cast aluminum would be used for exhaust. Seems like an intake setup.
  17. I didn't mean to come across as a tool bag. My apologies for sounding short. Alot of people on forums have been trying to call me out lately on various wierd details so I have been kind of testy as of late. Sorry! Evan
  18. Don't get your panties in a wad. I didn't post that to start a pissing contest of a new busa speedometer accuracy. Hell will freeze over before you see me anywhere near that speed, let alone with a GPS. Evan
  19. Basically stock turbocharged S30 ran outta wheeze at 125mph. Rumor has it, someone with my exact setup in my 240sx has gone 158 verified by a motorcyle... Ill never find out. Evan
  20. Your throttle blade will touch the plate if its between the manifold/throttle body. Evan Why not run very conservative timing instead? That should turn it into a turd.
  21. I was daydreaming that I was daydreaming... pretty awesome
  22. Thanks for the warning, sorry to hear of your situation!
  23. Why? to keep oil from coking the bearing and ruining the turbo. That said, I would want to be able to keep coolant moving during cool down as well.
  24. Hopefully you don't have a "now where did I put that screwdriver" moment now! Creative!
  25. I have an original 240z window sticker from 1972 somewhere. If I ever find it ill post up.
