  1. Well, since I was going to get all the nuts, bolts & brackets zinc plated, I thought I'd do the JCI parts. What do you think?
  2. Here's what's on my list from JCI: Z mount set: 2 - 8mm nuts & bolts 9 - flat washers 3 - 10 x 25mm bolts 4 - 10 x 30mm bolts 1 - 10 x 40mm bolt 2 - 10mm nylock nut 1- 7/16 bolt & locknut Trans mount 8 - 8mm nutserts 8 - 8mm bolts 1 - nutsert install tool Hope that helps!
  3. Huh? No shops that do that stuff? I had all custom stuff on my 510 (custom adj front control arms, T/C rods, custom rear crossmember w/ adj mounts, etc.) and the alignment guys here all loved having something you can actually adjust. Must be a local mindset thing.
  4. You doing to put up some good shots of the both engine & trans mounts? Probably the best time to get some good, clear shots with nothing else in the way.
  5. I believe the first is an aftermarket wheel, not sure what brand. I had a set of those briefly about 15 years ago. The second are a factory wheel, I believe Toyota. A friend had them on his 510. Those factory lugnuts are spendy, if you have to ever buy a set. Hope that helps.
  6. That is correct, your car did not come with one. Not common at all, thus the group buy recently. Spend $500 and buy a new one and put it in. No cheap way about it these days.
  7. Pretty straight forward, but you'll need a spring compressor.
  8. Ah, that works. I'll be putting together the Z over the next couple months, so Dustin and I are planning on doing some stuff this year. We do need to catch up, as it's been quite some time. Let's do that some time!
  9. OK, so just to be clear. Does the drawing specs make them work on all S30 Zs or was there something about a difference between mounting hole issues. The specs on the drawing are for 280s, right? If there is a difference, then it sounds like 2 specific drawings need to be done up. Just making sure we are all on the same page. Thanks!
  10. Oh, they'll work on a 510, but you do need to run adapters. These actually have the right bolt pattern but did require 3/4" adapters. My friend ran these for a few years on his VG powered 510.
  11. Since the original JCI kits were made for 280s, I'm assuming that he might have received that crossmember and not one for a 240? Just a guess.
  12. Anthony, you are an animal!! I'm all about performance, but I still care about it looking good. It's cool to see someone who just turned a 510 wagon into a full-on beast, monster power, massive tires......more extreme than me! You even make Lum look tame!
  13. Funny you should mention old pickups......as I had a built 350 in my '67 Chevy short-wide pickup with Doug Thorley headers, glass packs and exited right infront of the rear tires. I ran true dual with no connector and had the raspy, pop-pop-pop deceleration noise. Once I added in an "H pipe" (not an X), it improved driveablity, made the exhaust sound much smoother and quieter and got ride of interior noise. I was so glad I did it. I recommend some sort of crossover, just for the benefits. Just my experience.
  14. If any of you can't find some place local to do this stuff, if you want to pay shipping and actual costs, I'll run the stuff for $20 for time & gas.
  15. Oh, the same place also stipped off the red anodizing off the aluminum adjusters and I then had them done in clear anodizing, so they'll stay looking like that without getting dull or crusty! It takes a while to get the stuff done, as car parts are low priority, but it's worth it.
  16. I did the control arms myself and bought the TC rod from a buddy....probably have a couple hundred into the whole setup and the zinc plating is $58 a lot and everything on the car was just under 2 lots. The JCI kit looks really good in clear zinc. The trick to getting all the nuts & bolts done nice was to take them to a local shop that dips body parts and they did the whole box of nuts, bolts & washers for $20 and they came out like new. Didn't even want to think about having to beedblast all the stuff! Hope that helps anyone else who's thinking about doing it.
  17. Here are some pics of the setup I put up some time ago, but just got it and every other nut, bolt, washer & bracket back from the zinc plater today. I like clean, pretty parts! ;^)
