Heres a good example of why people are told to search so much on here... Just yesterday, this post comes along from a new member about a coolant temp sensor http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=125728 . It was answered with the information requested, or at least a point in the right direction and the member was NICELY asked to use the search function. Then today, this pops up...http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=125756 . A simple search would have answered both questions without adding more information for the search engine to sift through when someone DOES use the search feature. It's true that sometimes the search feature gives ALOT of information that isn't really relevant, but if the user will simply refine the search parameters by using the Advanced Search feature and specifying where to look for the information, the answers get alot more relevant. But since they won't use the Search feature to begin with, I guess an Advanced Search is out of the question. I too get tired of seeing people being told to search, and I get tired of the superfulous information being interjected between relevant, and informative posts, but simply following the instructions that are often refered to when someone is being asked to search first (meaning read #2 in the posting guidelines) is really all that is being asked.

You've OBVIOUSLY never done custom body work. Not a flame or a put-down, but that WAS alot of work, I'm sure of it. W

It's the black hood, I'm tellin ya...paint that sucker the same as the rest of the car and you'll NEVER get pulled over for undue reasons. Kids...Humph.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Warren

I'm gonna do something that I'm probably gonna get chastised for, that is, spoonfeed you information, only because I have a feeling that your car won't make it to the parts store without fouling plugs under the circumstances, but here goes. Click HERE for all of the Z wiring diagrams available through Autozone's website. If this information doesn't tell you what you need, I'd suggest doing as Paul above has stated and invest in the proper repair manuals for your vehicle. Also, please use the search function on this site BEFORE posting...the answer you're looking for lies in the first page of responses to the search using the term "Temp Sender". BTW, if those are 15" rims on your car and you'd like to move them along, PLEASE let me know. I'm DESPERATELY seeing some like them. Hope it helps. Warren

What year, what motor, add these items to your signature and never be asked again.

You know, I watched that video and didn't even pay attention that well. My car is currently so quiet it's pathetic. Running 3" stainless exhaust, a cat and a magnaflow 3" in dual 3" out. Absolutely quiet when idling and barely any noise during accelleration. Sounds like POOPOO going down the track. Makes me wonder if I should have just used the cheapie parts...oh well, live & learn.

When you say it's overheating, how do you know? I mean, does the gauge rise to the yellow or red section? Could be something as simple as that 25 year old temperature sensor. It might not be overheating at all, just rising slightly above the normal due to load and the sensor iis mis-interpreting the current now as it's about the only thing you haven't mentioned changing. Just a thought. Warren

If anybody has changed their gauges to Autometer and is looking for EXACTLY the right color paint to paint their remaining stock gauge needles to make them match the Autometer stuff, I've found the right stuff. It's a plastic model paint manufactured by The Testor Corporation, bottled and sold aunder the name of Model Master Custom Enamel System. The color name is Flourescent Red and the color number is FS28915. It's a Semi Gloss paint that when painted over the stock white (beige by now I'm sure) needles, comes out as the identical color as the stock Autometer needles in their Sport Comp, Pro Comp and other dark faced gauges that use orangish red needles. Be aware, it's a little pricey at $4.95 or so a 1/2 ounce, but for those who want a perfect match, that's not alot. I found it at HobbyTown USA...check your local hobby shop. Black labeled & black capped glass jar. Just a tip for those who are interested. Warren

Thanks, and a Belated Happy B-day to you too. Probably not the same year though...few here are as old as I, but that's ok too. Warren

Probably sound real nice behind a V6 or V8 with dual exhaust, but pretty crappy behind a straight 6 with a turbo, huh?

Two* Nissan 350z 03 04 05 Six Speed Transmissions
Warren replied to RB26powered74zcar's topic in Non Tech Board
Go behind almost any Nissan parts department at almost any Nissan dealership and you'll find them laying all over the place. They were mismanufactured and you can pick them up for next to nothing, all day long. My local dealership called me and asked me how many I wanted before they sent them to the recycler. Something to do with 2 of the syncros or something is bad in them...repair/replacement parts are about $160 through Nissan. Nissan didn't trust their own techs to repair them under warranty, so they were replaced as complete units. I don't know if they're still doing that, but I don't think I'd trust those transmission knowing that they were being pulled and junked. -
Tell me more about these mufflers Ted.

Thanks Guys. Got a neat B-Day Present, actually 2 of them. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HOO%2D18110D06&N=700+115&autoview=sku The DNI Shootout just became even more important and FUN!!! (Now if only I could find another pair or set of American Eagle Outlaw II's with the 4 lug pattern, I'd be happy as a pig in slop...unfortunately, they're not made in 4 lug patterns any more, nonetheless, I'm still happy since I already have 2 sets of rims that they'd fit on, just look goofy.) Thanks Gabe, Just another day older. I still feel (and act) like a 20 year old, but sooner or later I know that'll catch up with me too.

Dang Ted, No "Z" and you're STILL a maniac...hahahaha That doesn't sound like any stock GTO I've ever heard. Sounds great. Warren

Kinda depends on which tranny and the cooler location. I was lucky on mine, the cooler lines were on the opposite side from the exhaust system. I was able to run them near the stock location (near the side of the oil pan and forward from there. Hard lines most of the way is proper, with reinforced rubber lines on the ends, unless you go braided stainless and AN fittings...That gets expensive, trust me on that part.

Need Help Finding A Worthy Oil Cooler Kit For My Stroker Turbo Z...
Warren replied to a topic in Miscellaneous Tech
Just for the record, I'm using the stock ZXT oil cooler on my intercooled turbo stroker and it works well enough that I was able to make a 1500 mile trip in the car, even with the stock 3N71B 3 speed auto (3500 rpm at 70 mph, 4000 at 80 mph )and never had any overheating problems. Although I'm sure there are other, more efficient coolers out there, the stock one seems to be sufficient. Warren -

how do you properly clean a head cylinder?
Warren replied to biohazard53188's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
I'm just wondering what a "Head Cylinder" is... (sorry, couldn't helpt it)... -
Bob, I got mine right after they came out. The parts I used were independent of any other panels. Perhaps they used to be available and have now been incorporated into another panel, although I don't see how they could be due to the complexity of their shape. Metal doesn't stretch quite that far, even in a press without some form of distortion. The pieces I got from Ford were only the very interiormost panels and were not much larger in overall size than the back side of the light assembly itself. Perhaps you should check at the body shop of your local Ford dealer. Talk to the parts guy there and ask him to look them up...(hint: Think 2005, not 2006). Hope it helps, Warren
