  1. I just replaced the wheel bearings. Kind of a pain in the ass job but after removing the halkshaft and stub axle it was pretty straight forward.

  2. rags

    PDK Front Bar

    Start bidding lol
  3. I like the carrier. Where will you put the license plate? Joe
  4. Sunny, something doesn't seem right. Did you have a tune prior to the dyno session? I'm surprised that you only gained 9hp from the tune after installing all of the goodies. I basically have all of the bits you have including long tubes, but I am running YT rockers and have seen much higher gains come from the tune when upgrading hardware. Not to take away from your numbers which are nice but we all know they are used for tuning and the gains after baseline are what is important. Joe
  5. A Q45. After the second time of tearing and having the diff move and denting the spare tire well, the mount was welded into place. Made things interesting when removing the diff!
  6. Dan, Is the firewall flange at the wrong angle? If so, Roger also sent me the wrong one initially but got me the correct one within 2 days. I can't get something from Philly in 2 days, don't know how he does it!
  7. Are those the bolts that hold the stock diff strap? If so, a short diff mounted here will eventually start to tear the metal around the welded nuts. This happened to the LS car Clive just parted out. Joe
  8. Time to drop it off at R&B Auto? We've had pretty good luck with these things lol
  9. Put it in the trailer and bring it straight to the machine shop. The crankcase is definitely being pressurized somehow. I'm with Rsicard, something is not right with the rebuild and a leakdown test is in order. Let them do it, they built it.
  10. How many degrees of belt contact do you have on the pulley? We're running over 180 degrees of contact. I think contact patch has a lot to do with belt slippage. Joe
  11. Cable actually has one but its for a truck accessory drive. I think he wants $3500 for it. I was thinking about it but I'd have to rethink how the ac compressor would mount and I don't want to go down that road again!
  12. I'm having second thoughts as my car is sub 3000 lbs. might add some weight first Also, traction is not really limited on Dave's car unless you slip the clutch. Get your foot off the clutch and she just GOES!
  13. The only piece of the wheels that need to be replaced are the outer rings. Inners will still work as the strut tube to hub hat face is the same on both cars. You are only concerned with how far "out" the outter edge of the rim is.
  14. Keith, I think Josie is talking about the particle board raised dummy floor that is found on the 77-78 cars. A 240 doesn't have this.
  15. Here's a video walk around that was posted 3 days ago. http://vimeo.com/65439073
  16. Take a look at this guy who is building a supercharged V12 LS for a 240. Yes, I did say V12 http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1643786-v12-ls1-build.html Joe
  17. To me it looks like a normal 100k mile motor that missed an oil change every now and then. Like the others have already said, change the O-ring, clean out the pan and drive it! If you are paranoid, (I'd probaby do it as well), pull a conrod cap and take a look at the bearings before buttoning thinks back up. Joe
  18. You are over thinking it. Just go apply for the historic plates already!
  19. If your concerned about too much horsepower, perhaps a supercharged LS motor is not for you Joe
  20. I don't think Dan's body is stock as I think he has modified the firewall to move the engine further back. The car I did will drive like any other car as long as you are not putting your foot in it. Once you do that the lack of traction becomes very evident. The torque curve, if you want to call it a curve, is extremely flat and peaks at about 470 at the wheels. The motor is capable of making much more power but the car owner is keeping boost set at 6 lbs for the time being as he is running 245 street tires. Joe
  21. What information are you looking for? I can tell you if you buy a kit from Magnuson it contains everything you will need. I completed the install in four hours from the time the boxes arrived to starting her up! As soon as I finish adding to the supercharger fund, I'll be doing the same to my car. Joe
  22. Yep, a buddy of mine is running one. Check out the topic started by me "Newest NJ LS swap" or something like that. Joe
