  1. Sure sounds fuel related to me. If it were electrical, when the car died you would need a jump to start it again. Change the fuel filter and cleaning out the screen in the fuel pump would be the first things I'd do. Joe
  2. I went the powder coating route. I'll let you all know how it turns out Joe
  3. Sorry, I should have been more clear. The interference is with the steering shaft. I think you will have to knuckle the shaft to get it around the headers if you are using the JTR engine position. Joe
  4. And how would you be going about this purchase? I have one that I am will to part with but am very skeptical about doing a transaction with someone over seas. Do you have someone in the states that will be your proxy? Joe
  5. Mike, I think you're gonna have to also massage the drivers side. I couldn't get mine to fit when the motor is in the setback position. Joe
  6. Keith, I'm talking about the metal hard lines under the hood. Right now I have the motor out and all of the hard lines out, just had the engine compartment painted. Not too worried about anything catching fire right now as the lines are currently on the floor in the garage Joe
  7. What are my options for cleaning up the metal brake lines and fuel lines so they don't look like crap? Really not looking to replace them and paint doesn't seem like it would be a wise move since the brake fluid would take it off pretty easily. What have you done? Joe
  8. I have a set. Shipping might be costly. PM me and we'll come up with something. Joe
  9. What ever happened to the engine builder buying the motor back? Did he back out as well? Seems like you are going to yet again experience a long time off the track with this car if you plan on swapping motors mid year. I still say set up the LS1 now and don't bother with the 383. Put a list together of what you still need for the LS and place the order. You can use the begining of the season to shake out the cobwebs with the hardware the final product will be using. You will be ahead of the game if you start wrenching on what will be the finished product now. Just my .02. Joe
  10. Isn't it funny how shiney things make you forget what you were complaining about? Joe
  11. Sure sounds like you burned an exhaust valve from running a too lean mixture caused by low fuel pressure. Stupid question but did you ever change the fuel filter? You have to address the fuel pressure problem before going anywhere else. Joe
  12. Keep the updates coming, Man! I love to see new things. If no one else tried different things, HybridZ would not exist! Nice work. Joe
  13. I really have to laugh. The price went up a hundred because of all of the intricacies he had to deal with. And he blasted the top of the anodized spring hats on the camber plates. You can't make this **** up!
  14. Don't you already owe me painting? lol
  15. John, There is a lot in your post that I do not agree with. My experience here is a shop would rather sit around idle than reduce their price for anything which makes zero business sense to me. Everyone seems to be waiting to make the big killing. For example, I had a house painter come over the house yesterday to paint my interior first floor (yes, I'm lazy and don't want to do it). After looking at rooms he tells me he will go out to his van and write up the estimate. He then tells me he things he can keep the price under 10k. I told him he didn't have to come back in. 10k??? Was he kidding me? So although what you say about business sense is true, I can assure that is not what is happening here.
  16. Yes the northeast and it's not because of the hurricane. Unfortunately this is the norm around here. Joe
  17. I'm usually not one to complain about prices but this last bill got under my skin. As I posted here last week, I pulled the LS and T56 to freshen up the engine compartment with a spray and wire tuck. Well After stripping the engine compartment of all hardware, I got lazy and figured I'd have the bodyshop farm out the sand blasting of the engine compartment. How does $500 sound to sand blast the engine compartment??? The part that kills me the most is I know better and realize that 90% of the time I pay someone to do something, the job doesn't come back to my satisfaction. I have yet to see the results but even if it is perfect, I could have bought a ton of sand for $500 and used my sand blaster, SMH. Just a little venting. Joe
  18. Okay I'll look for some pictures with the exterior car color accented with silver. Thanks! Joe
  19. Yeah, I was leaning towards black but figured someone would say it's boring lol Joe
  20. Jim, I love those 90 degree heater hoses! Where did you get them? Wouldn't happen to have a part number would you? Joe
  21. Being the non-decorator that I am, I have to ask the question, What color powder coating do I use for for miscellaneous brackets and whatnot under the hood of a car painted Lemans Sunset? Looking for opinions and pictures of what combinations you think go together. Joe
