  1. Only one reason...I already have enuff on my plate!!! Hey....if it is as easy as you guys say it is...by all means....... Rufus
  2. Well I guess we will wait and see.... Luckily if it does begin to delaminate the panel is eaily removed, and repainting it would not be too difficult or expensive. Is there a method for removing the matte if I decide to take Tim's advice?
  3. I wanted to make sure the matte would not be affected by moisture in the future. So I cleaned the cowl, used POR-15's metal prep, and then coated the surface with POR-15. After it dried for a couple of days i began laying the matte. I knoe POR-15 has mixed results. I have had varying levels of adhesion myself however, on spots that I was careful in prepping it has very good adhesion, especially on light suface rust that was prepped right. The underside of the cowl had a slight dusting of rust so I am confident it will stick well. The POR-15 does not seem to do as well on sheet metal that has nor corrosion. I take it you guys think I may have "screwed the pooch?" Thanks for the input... Rufus
  4. How long did it take you to smooth out your cowl? So far I have about 1.5 hour into mine and its almost done!!!Last link on bottom
  5. Alright Got it fixed. Hit my WWW button and then follow the Sylvia link.
  6. It has been on eBay several times. I have never followedf th auction all the way through to see if it ever sells...but in any case I would be cautious. You are right though. It would be sweet mated up with my shell!! As long as the engine still runs...
  7. In the center console of course!!! Have to be able to reach it in case of an emergen....... whoa I spaced out there for a minute....what were we talking about........
  8. I am glad I spend my time working on my car and not watching the news. I know I am opening up for those who will call me names for not giving a hoot but those in power will do what they want when they want. I have way to many things to worry about that I actually have control over to waste my time worrying about these. The gov't could always do the intrusive things that were pointed out in the begining of this thread. The only difference is that now they can do it in the open.In the end it is really no different.
  9. I think this is the post you speak of sir X http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=33744&highlight=showcars Waddaya think?
  10. Rpm would be recrded by the dyno. No amperage as the car i am talking about is fuel. Also after talking with my buddy he said his diff is all metal!!
  11. OK Guys I still have those fiberglass 1/4's. I need to get rid of them so I am taking offers before they go to eBay. Please respond by PM only if you are interested. Pics are in the classified section under body parts.
  12. I like it alot. Does anybody know what year celica those headlights would come on?
  13. Thanks everybody for this post as i will install the painless 18 circut myself when I am ready. I was planning on tracing the old harness I pulled out. Now I don't have to!! georgiaz, Let us know how you make out, and good luck!!!
  14. "UPS standard shipping throughout the USA would be somewhere around $100 US. " Yea Right!!!! :malebitchslap: Either has never trieds to ship something large with UPS or is simply misleading people.
  15. There have been a bunch of posts about showcars taking forever to deliver parts. Do a search here, and check them out on ebay (horrid feedback) before you buy from them. Just trying to help!!
  16. Thanks Guys. I don't get emails telling me posts have been made to any thread I start or add to so I have not been to this one in a while. I like the idea of simply pulling the motor. I have never had one apart so I will have to convince my buddy!
  17. I was wondering the same thing myself...I didn't realize it was an old post
  18. * sung to Memories* Maaaaaammories....soft and supple yummy Mammooooories I want to touch and rub them Mamories ...you get the picture They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Well...I would love to BE HOLDEN THOSE!!!!!!!
  19. Terry, Thanks I will keep those ideas in mind. I actually considered the "scissor" action after I drew my lines. After which I also considered a diagonal line from the bottom of the wheel arch to the upper portion of the. I will most likely stick with the long horizontal cut. I have some body questions I am going to PM you about if you don't mind. Dan, You know....I tried really hard not to mimick your ride...unfortunately....its just way too cool not to!! I am actually going to modify the lips on both the fronts and rears to give it a bit of a different look. I also have some unique ideas for the rear panel...I want to get familiar with fiberglass before I take on those projects however. I have been working on taillight ideas and have a couple mock ups but none looks as good as yours.......... .....you knew it would happen!!!! 8) We will see though..I am not final on that one...yet Tim, Thanks for the chance to see your car up close. It was awesome!! The pleasure was mine!! The only events were cool ones. I saw the Cadillac Graveyard in Texas, and had a GIANT plate of BBQ on Beale St. in Memphis!!!! Ohhh Yea!!!!!
  20. Check out mY website to see some of the cool stuff I picked up in Arizona when i drove through. Last link on the bottom of the page. Man JW is one super cool person!!! HERE IS A LINK
  21. Is AWD common for RC? I suppose instead of a drum I could build a belt so that all the wheels would turn the dyno. I would be suspicious that the ratio between the circumference of the belt and the dyno would screw up the numbers though...unless there is a correction factor available in the software....hmmm...
