  1. Has it always done this or did it just start?
  2. It sounds like a fuel problem until you say it backfires. That sounds more like ignition/timing or a vacum leak. Do you smell gas?
  3. Thank you that is very useful information. I am hoping to use 11.5 tires all around so if I could get a set of these wheels but 4 10.5's I would be all over them. Thanks again!!
  4. Tim is right... if you look a little farther back in this thead I asked Dave the same question and he said he was going to be making one.
  5. I will probably call these guys but I was wondering if you had info on if they had wider sets of the same wheels? Say 17 x 12?
  6. The carb cleaner works great!!! Much cheaper than the stripper I was using. If you guys have not checked this thread do so...it is full of useful tips!!
  7. I was using some stripper from POR-15 I went through 2 gallons and at $40 a pop it wasn't cheap. It worked pretty well though. I tried this approach and dont recomend it. It makes the undercoating gummy and although it starts to come off easy it turns sticky and is a real PITA to deal with. Plus it burns and stinks the garage up. Yea I thought the same thing. I kept the pile I scraped off and I estimate it to weigh at least 50 to 60 lbs!!! Not to mention it was UGLY and actually seemed to hold moisture in some spots and help the rusting process. Check out my website to see some pics of the process, and good luck with yours. Keep us posted on your progress!! Rufus
  8. Man I thought scraping undercoating was bad!! I finally finished scraping the chassis and made my way inside the car to prep the floor boards. To my superise the sound deadaening mats that are put down are some sort of thick tar paper!! With the car on the rotisserie and my limited reaching abilities it was quite a chore. Luckily or noy Luckily the stuff came up pretty easy where the floor was rusted. Which was about 1/3 of the total scraping I did. I decided to do all of it like the trans tunnell etc to get a nice new surface for when I paint it. I will post some pics after I get my camera fixed. I did find two spots on the drivers side that will require a little welding. Not too bad considering that it looks like some idiot did drive it during a couple of Buffalo winters!!
  9. Cool hood vents. What are they from?
  10. What is it you like better? I am currently using POR and also have mixed feelings.
  11. Your right again. So what do you think about the rad support being cut away?
  12. Good point but its not like it is completley free either. It is clamped to the frame rails and provides at least some support. I know it will slide but when installed correctly should not move side to side much.
  13. How about the suggestion of making one for lsd swaps with clearence for the finned cover? I just bought an R200 LSD and would definatley pick one of these up if it worked for my application. I would even be willing to send a deposit for a custom job if it would help.
  14. Mike, You said you cut away the rad support? Top and Bottom, or just the top? Without that support the only thing connecting the two side of the unibody is the crossmember and maybe a struttower brace if you are using one right? Oh yea and the sway bar. Now that I think about it that is probably plenty of support.
  15. Thanks guys. I figured as much, but thought I would bring it up just in case.
  16. i REMEMBER THAT POST...i WILL TAKE A LOOK AS WELL. oops caps lock
  17. I have been getting viruses again to my email account. Interstingly this time thay come from someone using HybridZ screennames. The most recent one I got was from slownrusty...I am confident Yasin is not sending my malicious emails ...so someone must have used his screenname.
  18. I use the same welder, borrowed it as well. I have the same exact experience. Unfortunately it welded like crap a majority of the time. It would lay down a nice beed once in a while and when it was working right I would weld as much as I could. I know set up was not a problem because I am pretty meticulous when it comes to that. I will admit though I am used to gas sheilding and this one is a flux core setup. I have gotten a better feel for it recently and have been able to get better welds out of it more regularly.
  19. ohh baby I wanna get wicha...and take yo picha.... I'm hooked an I can't stop starrin..at the sh...she's wearin'
  20. I think that is a really cool idea....what is an example of a euro headlight? The bluish HID's?
  21. I guess I am going to have to subscribe now!!! Congrats Yasin!!
  22. Hey guys, Recently I got into a bit of a argument with another member. The outcome of which was the thread getting locked and tossed into the recycle bin. I just wanted to say that I am not proud of it. Although the other member was rude, (IMO) I should not have let it get to me and definately should not have said the things that I did say. I deliberated for a long time before posting this but I figue it couldn't hurt. I did send an apology to Tim, Mike and Dan immediatly after the thread got locked to express my regret. So if nothing eles I hope someone may learn from my mistakes. Once again I am sorry if I offened anyone, it was not my intention, and I will refrain from getting involved in a similar manner if the situation arises again. Also thank you to the guys that did back me up when it counted. Rufus
