I don't know about the guys comments about the first one "on it's way to becoming a first class show car"...maybe...but it is a long hard road!!!!

I cut the ends off with a sawzall...it was sawzallawwwzum!!! Just like most wounds ..they bled for a while but got over it!!! I will wail untill I cut out the rear of my 1/4's for the flares so the brackets will be easier to get out.

The spindle has to be cherry red with heat before you should even attempt to remove the pin. Did you take out the spindle pin retaining bolt / pin from the center of the spindle? Looks like a tapered pin with treads and a nut on the end.

Congrats on the start!! Are you getting just a chain hoist or a actual engine lift? I ask because I hate the fact that every time I use my lift I have to assemble and disassemble it because I can't stand how much realestate it takes up!! My buddy has a folding one that I wish I had. Folds up into a tight package and tucks into a corner. Something to think about. It is cool to hear about your son helping. I have twin boys 3 1/2 years old but I already have them help me. I can't wait till they are a bit older and I can show them how to wrench..keep us posted.

Has anyone tried this stuff? http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=81 I have been doing my chasis with POR-15, my floor boards are somewhat rusty, not rusted through, but they seem like a little reinforcement would not be a bad idea. Has anyone had success with it? Thanks!!
