  1. Anyone know where I can buy a set? Thanks!!
  2. You don't actually believe that do you? I would bet my Z that he can't even kick his wife's E$$!! Heck I bet he couldn't even kick his own awwz!! Who will be your next Gov? I putting my money on Opera or Rosie both of which are most definately tougher than Ahhnold!!
  3. Thanks, unfortunately I need to have it sent today and I forgot to look at mine last night. I figures the 280 would be beefier, so maybe I will have the seller measure the width like you suggest.
  4. Hey Guys, Can anybody tell me which crossmember is a 240 and which is a 280? HERE is a pic of both. Thanks!!
  5. I wonder if this is the "Sunny" car the builder is talking about
  6. His question is a little different. Say he did a search, found the post he wanted, but the thread had 100 pages of info. The hyperlink numbers at the bottom will read 1,2,3.......98,99,100. Once you click 3 all you get is 4...98,99,100. Hit 4 and you get 5...98,99,100. So if you know the part of the thread you want to read is on page 55 you are skrued. Make sense? Thats why I refernced the members list... pages and pages but to get to the middle you have to go page by page by page. Sorry the "do a search" answer does not apply!!!
  7. yea it is difficult if you veiwing something that has many pages like the members list...once you get past the first 3 pages or so you can only look one page at a time even if you know what you want is 20 pages in.
  8. mmmm..welding...I was hoping to hear that...thanks Tim. BTW so far I estimate that I have removed approx 15 lbs of old crusty undercoating. I can only imagine what it weighed before it dried out!!!
  9. Does anyone know if OEM or aftermarket replacements are available? Mine are covered in undercoating and the chemicals I used on the undercoating seem to like to eat the plugs as well. How about generic plugs? Does anyone know if you can buy plugs simply by size? Thanks!! On a similar note what is the purpose of these plugs anyway? Maybe if your car fills with water you can pull up the carpet and drain it? Maybe if you lock yourself out you could pay some emmaciated child to crawl under your car, and reach up through one of these "access" holes? ....Maybe remove the carpet and the plugs and you could suck out some of the exhaust that seems to be in the car all the time? ...kinda like some sort of Bafelling?
  10. Thanks for your help!! It is a 75. I am using a complete fiberglass front clip so no worries about the fender rusting. I am in the process of cleaning all the rust and undercoating off the unibody so I can treat it, patch any holes, and seal it with POR-15. Thanks again, I am going to the JY tomorrow to check out a 76 that just got brought in. I will see it it has the guards. Rufus
  11. Very often a horn wont work simply because of a bad ground. Get a test light and connect it to a known good ground, the battery ground is best if the test light can reach it if not use a long wire with clips like 305240 mentioned. Touch the test light to the positive terminal of the battery to make sure the test light is working (got light?). Disconnect the horn, and stick the test light into the horn lead you disconnected. Put the light in a spot where you can see it and hit the horn. If you get a light either the horn is not grounded because of corrosion between the horn bracket and the mounting surface, or the horn is bad. Good Luck!!
  12. Are you talking about the area to the right of my hand in these pics? I wonder if mine was plastic and had been removed because with the fender off the hinges are completely accessible. Here is a wide shot Second pic down.
  13. Brilliant!!! I should not have cut that other one up!!!
  14. It sounds like TIG welding would make it easier. I like the idea of no wipers but I would never get an inspection!!!
  15. Tim, When you did your cowl, did you flatten out the edges on the backside caused by the punch process when it was made. Then weld in small pieces of metal? Or did you cut out the vents altogether and weld in larger pieces?
  16. cygnus, What is a G2 kit? How long will it last? Where in NY do you live?
  17. That is what I was thinking. I was just wondering why anybody would close them up? I am going to see if I can find the post where the guy is saying he did it.
  18. No Tim I love that look though. I thinks someone should make a fiberglass version that looks as good a syours. I am talking about the outlet. You can only see them with the fenders off. There is one on each side. They are approx 2.5" dia holes with rubber hose sticking out. It is the point at which water that has enterd the cowl escapes. The water would then run down the inside of the fender and escape thru the holes in the bottom of the fender. I think they are the reason the lower portion of my unibody, where the fenders bolt on was rotted out. Check out my website for some pics of the rot. I don't have any pics of the cowl drains though.
  19. I used to get stopped up here in NY for no front plate. I actually had one cop admit he only used it as an excuse to pull me over so he could check out my car!!! BTW J. S. .....love the avatar
  20. That cage is intense...what are the arrows in the second pic for?
  21. I saw someones site where they had mentioned that they welded up the drain outlets for the cowl. They are holes in the unibody under the upper rear of the fender. I was wondering what the benifit might be. I do not plan to drive my car in the rain but it may happen. Also what about washing it? It seems water wold get stuck in the tray of the cowl and not be able to escape. Any thoughts?
  22. Are you using the stock dash and gages? How/where are you using the LED's ?
  23. I have never used them but I appreciate the post as I am planning something similar. If I could ask a question, are you using the stock colum or an aftermarket one?
