  1. sorry, It was Nic-Rebel450CA who said that I should check before I post
  2. well the engine from a 280Z and a 280ZX are pretty much the same. I think the car is a good deal, you can always replace the engine with a junkyard one. Maybe after that you can resell it and get a first gen.
  3. the car died already? that sucks
  4. well I remember the guy who was putting together the video said there wasn't enough interest and put it on hold. There was a link to the old hybridZ video in one of the pages, heres the old video http://midnights.thexpresidents.com/Midnights/VideoZ/HybridZ%20Video.wmv enjoy
  5. it turns out that there werent enough videos and it didnt get finished, but they have the old video in one of the links
  6. haha, I found out why it doesnt fit right. They gave me the right kit, but the wrong headpipe. I got one for a 260Z instead of a 280Z and I missed the office by 5 minutes (closes at 3:30pm) and will call tomorrow. I know what you mean Bastaad525 when you say they make a lot of mistakes. Well third time is a charm.
  7. well, the system came today, but im having problems putting it on. The pipes from the headpipe back are REALLY low... im probably going to have to shorten the headpipe by about 2 inches because it is subtancially longer then the stock one (lying on the ground its about 2 inches higher)
  8. well, I get to polish the valve covers, and am getting paid. The story behind it is that my uncle's friend was rebuilding an old flatbottom race boat, and when he tok the engine out to get it rebuilt, the mechanic saw that it was from a AC Cobra. Its a real engine, and has all the vins, and Carroll Shelby is actually building him a replica for him (hes getting paid of course). Its one of those exact replica's, and costs $50,000. Wow , just getting to work with this stuff is a reward in itself pics of the parts soon
  9. have you tried PMing him? (private messaging) BTW welcome to the board
  10. how about $100? How much are you asking for it anyways?
  11. ok, well I checked the fusible links and they look fine. When I replaced the head gasket the only things I took off where the connectors on the wiring harness to the injectors and the intake manifold, and replaced the battery. I cant think why it would have electric problems... BTW Tim, could you give me your V8 engine/drivetrain? It would be for a good cause
  12. they have some 510 stuff here http://classicdatsun.com/new/510.html BTW I just saw that they have a nice 510 for sale, http://classicdatsun.com/fs/index.html (the blue one)
  13. on mine I had to drill some extra holes, but it only took me less then two hours to get it done (it would probably be faster, but I couldnt find any bolts). If you paint it you will need to get a flexible brand of paint, or have the paint shop add some flexing agent in it so it wont crack. Adding a brace behind the airdam would be a good idea too, so it wont buckle at freeway speeds. You can PM Auxilary, and ask how he made his.
  14. Well it does make him look pretty
  15. I went to Florida once, but I was like 1, so I dont think that counts
  16. hehe, I would be tempted to, but I dont have the money for the swap . I pretty much just want to get the car running so I can get it insured with the stock motor and then swap in our 81zxt engine (im taking out the roll bar too, dont want them to charge me more for insurance ) I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine, but I havent looked at the fusible links yet
  17. Thay left a message on the phone early today, all I have to do is repackage it and Fedex will come pick it up today or tomorrow and they'll send me the right system. I dont even have to pay for shipping
  18. It's going ot the shop soon to get fixed, its got me stumped
  19. Ok Im going to call them when I get home today, hopefully I'll get this part soon
  20. luckily I was saved from a lot of rust, im sure there's some there but luckily I cant see it ,unlike our 280zxt, which is crunchy where every you touch it
  21. You could do it, but you would have to find a shop that would have the parts for the job. Also there arent very many places where you can fill it up. I remember seeing this on Auto Motor and Sport (from Britian), they installed a new fuel tank in the spare tire compartment and re-did the fuel system. Anything is possible with money
  22. im pretty sure that any fuel injector would fit, but the problem would be with the FI connectors.
