  1. Did you just win the Lotto??
  2. Take plastic cover off, There are four bolts holding the assembly on, two are regular bolts, the other two are roung head bolts. You need to slot the round head bolts, with a dremol or something, then use a screw driver to back out the bolts.
  3. I have done it, check out this tread: http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001415
  4. Probably a ground problem. Make sure all your grounds are clean.
  5. I wasn't around in the 20's, but the stock market did come back and then some. If you have money in your 401K or 403, don't touch it! Don't forget that as the market is low you are buying more for your money right now. When the stock market finally rebounds you will have more shares, because you bought low. So hang in there it will get better!
  6. The only Show Z I know of is this one: http://www.waskomtexas.com/zcar/index.html It belongs to BAlford (from Hybrid Z ), but since he bought it, he's slowly returning it to street duty.
  7. It's a casting hump, that's where they poured the aluminum into the cast. The only pic I have is on my second link, then click on picture page, then scroll down to the bottom. You can't tell from the pic that I shaved it.
  8. My wheels were rubbing on that hump also. I ground off about 1/8" with no problems.
  9. If the bellhousing is still on and there is a bolt hole at the top of the bellhousing, it's for a 98 and newer LS1. If not it's either a 93 w/400#tq or 94 to 97 with 450#tq. I suppose if you put it in 6th and turn the input shaft one turn, and the output only turns 1/2 you have a 94 to 97. If the output turns a little more than 1/2 you have a 93.
  10. I found this statement on your web site: "It had a tunnel ram and (2) fours, so I put a 6-71 weiand kit on it and totatlly reworked the stereo & alarm." If this engine originally had a tunnel ram and two 4 barrels, the compression is not as low as we thought. All you have to do is change the cam to work with the rest of the engine and you should be fine. Or you could go back to a tunnel ram for looks. I found this statement on anouther web page, it maybe something to consider: "Tunnel Rams: For the serious racer with a high compression engine build. If you don't have at least a 12.5 to 1 CR don't venture this way. You will not receive the full benefits and quite possibly never get the motor to run at idle with any throttle response off idle . This design requires a high compression engine. A high CR offers a low enough cylinder pressure (when the piston travels downward, naturally aspirated) for the air/fuel mixture to travel the distance."
  11. What in the hell is this guy doing????
  12. Even heating the nuts RED HOT is not working? That's the only way I got mine off.
  13. Alright!!! Shes on the road! Did the wife like it? Your car looks great. When ever my wife rides in my Z, she says "only if you take it easy!"
  14. Jeromio is right, that T56 you have will not bolt to '98 engine. Also you said that 6th gear has a ratio of .62:1 . If that is right, that is a '93 T56 rated at 400#tq.
  15. My compressor is not from a 280ZX, mine is a Sanden 508. If you have your AC system still intact and your compressor is still good, just make a bracket for it to fit your smallblock. What your engine will make with a blower depends on its internals and heads. Like I said bring it to a builder so he can see what you have.
  16. I'm with most of the guys here, return it to a blowen engine. If you don't want a tall blower sticking out of the hood, you could go with the lower Holley Procharger. But first you need to check out this engine. If you're not comfortable with taking it appart, bring it to a high perf engine builder, he can tell you what you have.
  17. First off, Welcome!! If you really want a '70s car keep looking. There are several Canadian guys here who have one, so they are around. Or you could check the sale section for a California or Arizona rust free car.
  18. First of all welcome!!! Are you saying you have a t56 that came from a LS1? If you are, that tranny will not bolt to an older 350. If you want a t56 for an older 350 you need one from '93 to '97. The '93 is good for 400#tq, the '94 to '97 is good for 450#tq. You also need a special flywheel for a 2 piece rear seal engine. Centerforce makes one for around $260.00, you can also use their clutch assembly, but they run about $550.00
  19. Jay, it was a universal one. Just find where they display the electric fans, and it should be there on a shelf. It's an adjustable fan relay kit. I think the price was around $30 - $40
  20. http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000473 http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000830 Try these two posts
  21. I've got a 2 speed Taurus fan. What I did was just use the high speed side, didn't connect the low speed. Then I got a relay system from Hayes at Pep Boys, and connected it per instructions and it works great.
  22. I would take a piece of flat stock about 1/8 inch thick, weld one end to the bolt head, then heat and mold the flat stock around the pipe to the other side and weld it to the bolt head again. This would encase the pipe, and you could seam weld the edges all the way around.
