  1. The Datsun guage will not work with the GM sender. Using a Ford sender comes close. Like m355 said, go with an aftermarket GM guage.
  2. Try turning off the OD, and see if the moaning goes away. Usually what happens is the OD sticks on and when you come to a stop the car shudders, and sometimes stalls.
  3. '79 - '81 are 15/16 bore, same bolt pattern but from a ZX
  4. Does this car have an automatic tranny? Could be your overdrive torque converter is messing up.
  5. Welcome Fordsun, where are you from?
  6. Hate to break this to you, but you did it wrong. The shorts go in front the long go in back.
  7. Have any of you seen this show? Am I the only one getting real pissed at this show? Every show they wreck or blow up a muscle car or exotic. I can't stand watching it anymore! I think I'll find Fox network online and complain! Sorry, just had to rant...
  8. All 240Zs did not come with AC from the factory. Now you could have a dealer installed AC, but it sounds like you do not have AC, are you sure those hoses you see are not heater hoses?
  9. Sounds like someone added that fan on there, it's not stock. But to help your AC out, it should be on when the AC is on.
  10. Are you sure there is nothing stuck down in your engine?
  11. No, you can't use the stock cable selectors, my system uses vacuum servoes, but they now have electric servoes. To plumb to the stock outer vent housings, I used the stock hoses, they fit like they were made for it. I custom made my center section, and added 2 vents. I used the hose supplied with the unit and a "Y" section to hook it to the center spot on the unit( it only has 3 outlets for AC). Like I said it works great!!! When I drove down to Montgomery for the HybridZ shootout, it rained most of the way there, I had no problems with fogging, where others were complaining of fogging up windows.
  12. That's great news Mike!!! I'm glad he's feeling better!
  13. lol! That poor donkey's ass is going to be on fire!
  14. Yep, I thought with 295s I would have more rubber on the street for better traction, nope, I spun all the way down the track! Next time slicks baby!
  15. To answer question #2337295 I was concerned about ground clearance too, but have not had a problem. The only thing that is still on my mind is if, with slicks, I manage to lift the front wheels, I may scrape the sump, and boom! But I think I would have to be pretty high on the front end to do that, probably wont happen. Plus it gives a pro street look to the rear end! I think your first option would work, if you want to reverse the sump. I drilled 5 2" holes per instructions to the bottom of my tank. If you just drill two near the in/out holes I think that should work.
  16. It has been posted, but it's still funny. Myron, did you go to the Administrator forum to check in as a moderator?
  17. I didn't do what your first paragragh said, but did the second paragragh, except I welded the two holes that you are going to loop. I am not using the stock evap tank. The forward hole in the tank has a hose that runs to the filler neck hole that used to connect to the evap tank. I'm not worried about evaporation, but I'm sure it's very little. I'm not sure if the stock out/return lines are adequate, but with EFI and a stock tank if you go below half full around corners you loose fuel pressure because the baffles in the tank suck. That is why I added the sump, to make sure I always have fuel pressure. Another way to do it is build and install a surge tank, like this post: http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=20;t=000234
  18. I got rid of all the vent hoses and vent tank. Check out this old post: http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=13;t=000301#000000
  19. After you delete the URL stuff, don't forget to scroll to the bottom and hit the "update profile" button.
  20. You may be right to go with the 12.88 measurement. The 260Z model changed in mid year from early 240Z bumpers to 280Z bumpers, I'm sure all measurements also reflect the 280Z. So you may have 280Z specs.
