  1. I bet you have to wear a welding helmet just to drive that thing.
  2. Nice list. Thanks. The 240z or the 260z's had R180 3.364, 3.545 http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/transmission.html This website has what diff came with what yr.
  3. WigenOut-s30 in what gear is this? In 3rd I get full boost by 2800-2900 and in 4th I get it 2600-2700. My problem seems to be in 1st and 2nd. Thanks
  4. Speaco Npr Intercooler mkiv supra intercooler starion volvo saab
  5. I have a volvo intercooler and i is great for boost up to 14psi. After that it just can't get the job done. I ran a starion I/C on my last engine and the limit seemed to be around 18psi with the same efi setup. Two different engines so can't compare apples to apples. But with the volvo I can not go past 15psi without getting detonation. No matter what I do give it more fuel, less timing, or more time to cool off between runs. The only problem with the starion it can be tricky to install and it does have a big boost loss at 15psi+. Good luck
  6. Thanks for the input. Only thing is now the a/f ration is more like 12:1 and in the ghetto beast my rear-end was 3.545. And it only started doing this the day that I installed my bigger injectors. I guess I could have made the car faster that day also and that is when i started to out run my turbo? Ok who here who is running the stock injectors on the stock efi has this problem? If anybody does then it can't be the injectors. Or who here is running svo injectors on stock efi and does not have this problem? This way we know for sure. Thanks
  7. Ok I having the same problem as I did with the ghetto beast. In first and second gear boost lag is huge. 4k in first and like 3300 in second. In forth gear full boost is a 2700rpm's so I know its not the turbo or downpipe. My question is lag usually caused by car running too lean or too rich. It seems that the problem usually manifests it self after you install bigger injectors on the stock efi and adjust the afm. My first thought was it is because its too rich. But mikes lm-1 reads that i'm at 15:1 a/f ratio intill boost hits so that should rule out to rich? Any thoughts? Thanks
  8. 1st off this is ON3GO (mike).. im at Teds (thumper's) house.. working on his Z and my Z's parts. Anybody have pics of there install? i have the autometer comp egt probe kit. comes with the probe, the little npt fitting that goes on the probe i assume, and the npt bung. i have a drill and im ready to drill a hole into the turbo flange on the manifold, but the little npt bung is fooling with my mind. its smooth on the outside, so it doesnt like thread into a hole i can drill, but its aluminum fitting. do i have to get this welded into the manifold? if so what do i need to weld it with as the manifold is cast iron and the fitting is aluminum. if i dont need to weld it in what do i do.. i searched and i just came across some of my old posts. besides all that the manifold is ready to go.. all ported and nice mike
  9. Yesterday the car started up. The last few days I finally got it running fairly well. Right now the boost is at 14psi spike then 13psi by redline. A/F ratio is 12.0-13.0 Timing is 28 degrees on a 83' ecu. I am going to retard the timing back to factory 24 degrees and turn up the boost after I do some more break in miles and tuning. Just wanted to say thanks to Olie (for coming over and helping me do the fun work on the fuel cell), On3go (for letting me use his lm-1 to help tune), and 73turbo240z (for letting me borrow a few parts and letting me tinker in his driveway). The car feels great and just wants to run to 6k every time. Can't wait intill I up the boost put my 3" exhaust on and new rear-end. My current specs are: 83' l28et Stock efi with afm 22 teeth tightened FPR at 40 psi 28 degrees MSD 6al with Blaster 2 Coil Magnecore Spark Plug wires Bpr6es-11 (Soon to be Bpr7es-11) 1g Bov recirculated 370cc SVO injectors JSK Fuel Rail Summit 16 gallon fuel cell Walbro 255 fuel pump 3/8" feed line with 5/16" return Custom 2.5" downpipe Crush bent 2.5" exhaust with crappy muffler (soon to be 3" mandrel and a straight through muffler) Volvo 960 intercooler 240sx 60mm throttle body Ported exhaust manifold, turbo, and intake manifold 280zx 5-spd tranny Stock flywheel with unknown but very good clutch 3.9 r200 diff (soon to be 3.545 or 3.36) 225/60 r15 Bfgoodrich Geforce Sports and lots of suspension and brake work Now to the pics. Thanks to Jeremy (73turbo240z) First pic is my Z and mike (on3go), well... being mike. Second pic is me standing beside my beautiful beast. And now pics of her.
  10. Buh Bye 2 Cool Ketchup Catchup My fav bumper sticker is "If you can read this i'm not trying"
  11. I just moved it lower and farther back and I had no noticeable difference. I have found the problem of the hesitation at high rpms. It was opposite of what I thought. It was due to lack of ruel but an excess of. I was running too rich. During my tinkingering I accidentially unhooked the vacuum line on my fpr so it never raised the fuel pressure. So the next test drive I floored it and it was smoth because the pressure never went above 42psi. But back to original post it does not seem to make a difference.
