  1. Yeah dyno queen. I bet a mild hybridz could take her. But alot of work did go into that so cudos.
  2. Since people are being nice and not making you search (I guess I can too) here is a few websites that will help you. http://www.geocities.com/row4navy/p-90.html http://datsunzgarage.com/heads/index.htm http://datsunzgarage.com/engine/index.htm http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/ http://www.msu.edu/~levesqu6/links.htm
  3. Umm nevermind. Maybe I should read the sticky before I post. Nice new area! I'll have to use it.
  4. I also put a brass plug in there and never had a problem. You could just leave it in if it's not in the way, but I like clean.
  5. I think 600hp in s30 is alot easier on the tranny since you are accelerating alot lighter vehicle. So more power is wasted on accelerating the parts then moving the vehicle vs a heavier car.
  6. Looks like I should have read better. Post #6 in this thread shows 280zforce with a full 4". 280zforce, Have you had the car on the ground yet? How does ground clearance look? Thanks
  7. IMHO most deals on craigslist are legit, since you are most likely going to go their to pick it up in person before paying. Only problem is stolen property, or hidden damage. Nice looking z though. Definetly a good deal if done right.
  8. I believe there has been quite a few threads about this over years. Try a searching some more and you should find all the info you need.
  9. So with all this talk of bigger is better it looks like the 3" exhaust for my turbo setup I was planning would be better if it was 3.5"/4" The elbow off of my turbo is 3.5" and I know I can build a dp and piping all the way back to diff. The problem is going through the diff area. Has anybody run 3.5" or 4" back through the diff area on a street car?
  10. For some reason i'm thinking Audi. But it could be a tsx.
  11. Jeff what rear-end are you using? You shifted into 5th way early even for 5k. Have you verifed your tach with ms? Nice looking run.
  12. You can get them fairl cheap around here 50-75 but cleaniness gets you top dollar. If you have two mechanicaly same parts for sale but one looks prestine then it will easily sell for twice because of NEW look. Its all mental. I think for a very clean and for the piece of mind of that r200 it was worth $200.
  13. Plus the weight is on the suspension which makes it worst place for it. Not even accounting for unsprung weight of the rotor. I had upgraded stock brakes in my red z and did a few solo II events and lots of heavy driving and never had a problem with them. I know if I had to do a road course I would have had to upgrade them. I was running hawk pads in front, new rotors, metal brake lines, Green shoes, and a 15/16" master cylinder, oh and motul 600 brake fluid.
  14. Yes a twin turbo setup is better for reducing lag and a single turbo for efficiency About the stock engine not exactly. I would recommend you search before you ask another question all have been answered before. Short answer metal head gasket, arp head studs, better flowing head, custom ecu, all the supporting mods yes you can run lots of boost. Long answer search. Good luck
  15. I was checking out the timeslip database and can't seem to add another of my cars on there. It just goes to a blank screen. Not sure if its on my end or the sites.
  16. Down in Houston its popular for some kids at cars meats to rid them around so if there are any car meets up around their check that also. Hope you find your little buddy.
  17. Here are some SLOTTED and cross-drilled rotors for a stock 280z. But yeah impossible to make a vented rotor work with the stock calipers. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PBC06
  18. Also fyi make sure you are running synthetic. It holds up to the heat alot better that regular oil.
  19. LOL What you did like to play ride the pissed off woman? Bad joke I once heard
  20. I really don't see a reason why. Unless they were running lots of rpms 7500+ they weren't pushing enough air at low rpms and were hurting their exit speeds. I've seen 300whrp v8's upgrading from a 2.5" single to a 3" single and only gaining marginal power up top but lowering their torque peak and moving it higher in the rpms. But I guess its two schools of thought I say its too big stick with a 2.5", the experienced engineer/racer johnc says 3" I would go with johnc if I weren't so damn stubborn.
  21. Sorry I didn't make my self clear. Yes you can run a 3" exhaust and yes it will make more power if you have you want it at 6000+rpms. But if you want to drag race it, autox, or even drive it on the street then a 2.5" true mandrel bent exhaust will flow plenty and make you overall faster.
  22. Then you've read wrong. Sorry no way around it. 2.5" is good enough for the hottest n/a l28. Good luck
  23. I am comparing my aftermarket autometer to my stock tach out of my 74' 260z. The autometer was much faster and more accurate. With the stock tach in first gear it was almost 400rpms behind and 100-300rpms inaccurate even in 4th gear.
  24. Very nice Gabe. What kind of gas mileage does it get mid 20's? Only thing is WHY red. Don't understand a red car but thats me. I know I know my z was a orangey red, and I had a miata that was red but I still don't like red...
