  1. Well, good point. If you don't have a vac hose from your intake to your distributor then you don't have a vac advance.....my bad. Look to see if you have a vac line going to your distributor. You should always set the timing with the vac advance disconnected.
  2. Thanks to Paul my daughter was given the opportunity to tear down an L24 to the bare block. She enjoyed the company as well as getting to do this for the first time. What a valuable learning experience for her. Here is a video of the action. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaqEe7xxnmw
  3. Did you get this figured out yet? Did you disconnect the vac advance while trying to reset the timing? Just a thought. If you have too much vaccuum at idle your timing will be off to start with.
  4. If it is just the driver side then I would suspect the connection. Check your connections in front of your radiator, (all those wires that run from one side to the other) and make sure one of the connectors are not getting loose and check your grounds as always.
  5. Well, hurry up and get over that turbo boost.....I want it.
  6. Did you check/adjust your timing without disconnecting your vac advance? I've done that. lol That can really mess with your adjustments. The smoke thing is just weird...was it doing this before you changed the timing? Never do a shotgun approach when trouble shooting. make one adjustment at a time no matter how tempting it is to change one more thing. I call it "one-more-thingitis" and it will totally scew you in the end.
  7. He can't even keep that thing strait. That's an insane ride for sure! I hope yours is just as insane.
  8. We will be there soon. lol I will set this up with you asap.

  11. My first Puppy! Our family has made the decision to add a new family member. Her name is Sheba (my wife named her) and she is a mut's mut.... Mom= Black Lab/Border Collie and Dad= German Shepherd/Border Collie. She is 7 weeks old now and should be about 40-50 lbs when fully grown and have tons of energy in addition to being a very smart dog. Here she is at 4 weeks.... And at 6 weeks..... And after her bath this morning...... I love this face with those eyes...says, pick me up!! I couldn't help it...I had to share.
  12. He has them all. I got mine this morning and they look awesome! I can't wait to put them on.
  13. True! But pertaining to his dilemma it appears to be the better choice. IMHO
  14. Keep the V8!! Sounds like you are just frustrated, step back and analyze this for a minute. It is always better to get another V8 like the one that is in your car before trying to swap in a totally different engine/tranny/wiring/etc... to fix a problem like your are having. I understand how you feel, been there myself and it is easy to panic. Follow Scarab's advice....you should be able to get her running by following some simple methodical steps. Don't forget you have help, just get in touch with one of your local HBZ bretheren and they will help you out. But! If you do decide you need a new motor, just get another V8. My 2 pennies
  15. It's my job description....at least that's what my kids used to call me. Daddy's the poky man.
