  1. I've seen/been told that if your not looking for 400+ hp to the rear wheels then the stock FI intake will be more then enough. I'm using a 77 just because its cleaner and better looking. Plus I don't have to deal with the EGR. Phyte
  2. Phantom, I've got a good buddy that owns a car dealership and when the time comes I'm going to goto the auctions with him to find my suburban. He's been looking for me lately and what he can get one for wholesale is about 6-8k less then anything else I've seen Phyte
  3. Hey congrats. Brooke and I will be looking for a Sub real soon now. I'm trying to sell our van now. Phyte
  4. Call the guys at http://www.turboimports.com here in Austin. They've got one putting down 765rwhp. They also did the walser and SW supra's. They might know Also http://www.turbolexus.com Phyte
  5. I listen to those guys about 3-4 times a week. My sons watch a lot of sesame street vids and they are in them. Phyte
  6. Not my style either, but I thought I'd post it. I respect the time and money spent in it though! Also resizeme.com is changing. I'm making it into a HUGE photo hosting site with tons of tools and options. Coming soon http://www.onclickpix.com Phyte
  7. This album was just posted on my photo hosting website. Nice! http://www.resizeme.com/index.cfm?pg=browsealbums&albumid=652 Phyte
  8. Good news, its neither one of those in the picture. My motor is up at my dad's shop in KS and I just had him check and the EFI harness is still attached to the engine. Harness 1 above is for the headlights, and harness 2 is for everything else including electric windows, locks, wiper, etc. I was going nuts trying to figure this out, then I thought crap its still probably attached to the engine Phyte
  9. Ok so I've got the early gas tank then. I know the 75/76 tank will bolt right into my 74 and it will support my L28et motor I'm putting in. From what I've read in 77+ they change the rearend around and the gas tanks are way different. I was hoping the guy that put the L28 in put in a the EFI fuel tank. I'll pick one up from a Z junk yard in Ft. Worth and post in the WTB forum. Unless someone here has a cheap 75/76 gas tank for me Thanks Phyte
  10. Ok dumb newb question. Did the early 260's and 240's even have electric fuel pumps? Didn't they just have manual pumps on the passenger side of the engine? I'll look at the electric pump tonight for that regulator. Any other tell tell signs? THanks Phyte
  11. I posted in the fuel forum, but no one has answered. Sorry to post it here but I need to know. Previous thread here http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=32379 Thanks Phyte
  12. anyone? Markings, hose placement? Anything to identify what tank I've got. Phyte
  13. I'm rebuilding my L28et in 2 months. It has a BHG I'd be interested in this if its still around? Phyte
  14. Ok so I need harness 2 then? I thought harness 1 was the engine harness. I don't have the motor at my house yet and coulnd't match any of this stuff up yet. I hate to sound like a newb, I've put plenty of engines in with my pops, but this is the first solo one so its a little confusing Pintoz I'll PM ya in a couple weeks when I have the engine at my house so I can start labeling things. Phyte
  15. I've got a early 12/73 260z, but the previous owner installed an L28 from a 78 280. Its got an electric fuel pump, but I can't figure out if he bolted in a 75/76 fuel tank or not(he doesn't know, he didn't do the work). I've got an L28et going in next month and I need the 75/76 fuel tank to support the EFI. Currently the L28 is carb'd with SU's. Here's a couple crappy pics Thanks Phyte
  16. Ok I dug into the box of wires tonight and it turns out that there are just two harness's. One is the engine harness, but what is the other? I assume its the "chassis" wiring to control functions like electric windows etc?? This is why I was so confused, I saw a TON of wires and got concerned Harness 1 Harness 2 Phyte
  17. Outstanding man, thank you. I picked up the haynes manual yesterday and will look at that diagram tonight. I read through the turbo FAQ, but I guess I missed the information or something I've always been able to get engines out in one day, and the next day have a new engine in and running. Those were carbed chevy motors though and didn't have all these wires Phyte
  18. Ya, all I've found is talk about drilling a 1.5" diameter hole in the firewall for the ECM wires. I bought this engine already seperated from the 83zxt and it literally has a huge box full of wires. I need to get this engine in and running within a weeks time so I need to educate myself on what all those wires are?? Some might be wires I don't even need I don't know. Anyone? Phyte
  19. Hey there. Your more then welcome to use my website for hosting your pics. Its $10/year but gives you some neat tools and 2500 photo capacity. http://www.resizeme.com Thanks Phyte
  20. I searched for the last hour and have found some good articles about installing an L28et into my early Z, but none of them discuss wiring. I'm going to pick up the haynes manual today and start studying. I have a huge box full of wires that I have no clue where they go. By installing a 77 non egr intake can I get rid of some of these wires and how do I fool the computer by taking out these emissions. The motor will be 83' completely stock to start out with. Can you point me to a good wiring write-up for installing this motor? The motor will be going in in late april or early May, but I want to get this all sorted out now and do it right the first time! Thanks Phyte
  21. no no no.. it was contra. You could also do up up down down left right left right b a start Phyte
  22. That last pic is so funny. Your wife is like get this shit outta the living room Phyte
  23. Thanks guys. The wheels are 17x7 40+mm offset. The tires are kuhmo supra 712's 225/45/17's. I used 29 mm honda adapters and the fit is perfect. I just got my 260 in october and have so far done the toyota 4x4 conversion on the front, and wheels/tires. I've got a complete 83 l28et at my pops shop waiting for its trip to Austin in april. This weekend I'm picking up an intake off a 77 and another 5 speed and pedals. My Z right now is a auto and I hate it! The guy I bought it from did a lot of work on it underneith with a complete rebuild with polyurethan bushings etc. Its a solid car. By november I'll have the drivetrain complete with hopefully an I/C running 15psi and a completely new interior. Then paint and body is last. I'm having a blast with this car! Phyte
