17 jun 2005 and there has been substantial progress!!!!!!!
the car is shock mounts and shocks from being a roller. the axles are here and just have to be installed and brakes installed, then wheels. Still has lots of stuff left but it looks like its ove the almost at the top of the hill.
not sure where or even if you can get something like that allready made... you could take a gasket to a machinist or someone who has one of those CNC/ waterjet things and get one made.
People who are in need of a fix dont think too clearly. thats prabably why he is trying to buy it back now. people have done some pretty F'd up things to get there Fix.
I want to keep it legal for the classes here in alaska and all of them only allow one power adder.
Once i get the car back from Chassis jail i will pull the motor back out and check crank bearings if all is well there im not gonna go any further. 4 days till probation :>
The rb block is setup for 2 different oil pans along with 2 different oil dipstick locations. in the GTR it is in the front with the sump. for the S30 swap you need a rear sump oil pan. just so happens there is a hole in the rear part of the block for a dip stick also. you just pop it out and swap the plug with the dipstick in the front. Does that make sense... kinda hard to explain without pics.

My car dosnt have a fuel system in it right now that will be getting installed shortly thats why I'm considering this route. Bad thing is it will render my car a "track" car versus a semi daily driver.
I love the idea of taking detonation out of the picture almost all together.

Anyways, i was talking with a blown alcohol guy at the track the other day(he was obviously trying to get me to convert my motor to alcohol) We talked about the benefits of alcohol and its power potential.
Has anyone ever tried or researched what it would take as a minumum to convert a rb26 turbo... well any turbo motor to straight alcohol injection. I know fuel delivery has to be doubled but from what i have seen and understand detonation is not an issue with alcohol and guys are running ungoddly hi boost levels with it.
So is there more to it other then upgrading the fuel system, turning up the boost and tuning?
Still no Pics!!!! BUT the rearend is assembled and is only waiting on the axles to finish it up. Car is scheduled for pickup on saturday!!!!! wont be as far as originally agreed but will be on all 4 wheels. the MOC up tranny will be installed till after the big edmonton race next week. still needs brake lines and seat brackets, and all the wiring and gages still need to be insttalled. Atleast i will have something to do other then yardwork!!!!!! i hate yard work.
Did you not get the stock linkage stuff??? Why do you need to machine linkage? i just ran a stock Z31 rb20 cable from the pedal to the motor. All I (MATT) did was cut and weld the top portion of the Z31 pedal and weld it to mine (S30) to accept the cable... should be too hard to fab something up though.
BTW I noticed your dipstick is still in the front. Not sure if you know or not but there is a little plug in about the same spot at the rear of the block on the same side. You just knock it out from the underside and swap everything around.
Looks good, did you powder coat or paint your valve covers. Mine look exactly the same... BTW if you want the GTR emblem you can give Matt (cheftrd) a ring I think they are like 50 bucks. And make a huge difference in the appearance of the motor.
I cant amagine any clearance issues with the twin downpipe. IT fit fine on mine and yours is sitting a little further back.
HAHA you can get one of those in japan fr a grand. Its more of a family car then anything. is it a 4 lug or 5 lug car? If tis a 4 lug i wouldnt waste my money
