  1. oops got me while i was typing!!! 7000 rpm!!!! wholly crap I for sure dont want to go that high, i do want to keep some streetability to it and 7K wouldnt be streetable at all
  2. i was thinking the same thing. It would ensure i would be at full booste off the line. it was around 5000 rpm when the Torque and HP line in the dyno graph go vertical. I think 4500 on a 2 step, and tranny brake loaded off the line will also do the trick.
  3. neil chance bolt together is what we were originally going with but recently found out that the adjustment on it is very minimal .. So not too sure. i may just throw something in it just to get it together and running. then once its running and been down the track a couple times start looking into my converter options.
  4. If and when (notice i say when) i loose my rb26 to damage beyond repair My t88-34D will be going on some sort of budget v-8. And it will more then likely make as much maybe more power then the rb :>

The rearend is in the car now!!!!!!. but not sure how the builder classifies "in the car" axles are ordered and from what im hearing should be on the ground next week!!!!!!!. rearend should be assembled by the middle of next week. i will be going over to the shop this weekend maybe to get some pics. Will post any i get. Hope to have alot :>
  7. i had a 3.90 in mine but the gts-t 5 speed is geard for a 4.363. I was going thru the traps at 125+mph in teh top end of 3rd gear!!!!! regearing it to take more advantage or forth gear only magnified my rearend breakage problems

I ran a .21 motor in a 10th scale rorad car. i had a digital temp gage and gun and they were both really close (within 5 degrees.) agree with all above. i tried the water method but still blew a motor. thats when i envested in the gage and gun... never had an issue with it after that. ran like a raped ape. damn those things were fun. mine had a 2 speed ttranny and got up to 50MPH on teh back straight!!!! i wasnt pretty when there were wrecks either Oh yea running with the body on and off made a huge difference in temps so make sure you tune they way your gona run it.

Hey i just noticed your signature. your results are almost exactly the same as mine were. i had the stock 444CC injectors and .8K booste (STOCK) and netted 352rwhp and ran teh same 1/4 times. with more practice i got it down to 11.138 @ 121 MPH then i turned the booste up to the max recommended 15 PSI and installed bigger injectors (680cc) and netted 392 rwhp and 127 MPH traps but didnt improve my ET due to traction and breakage issues. I Think i will take a trip to the chassis guy today and prode him again
  10. AHHHHHH the memories :> hope to have some vids of mine this year too. all i have is old video of mine and old video of the motor i have for it now in the car i got it from. DAMN THAT SOUNDS GOOD!!!!!
  11. not a z Hell not even a datsun but it is a 7m swap. and for those that will ask yes the firewall had to be extensively modified to fit the motor. the motor looks like a 4 cylinder when viewed from the engine bay because the engine sits so far back. Sorry no pics of the motor.

  13. My engine has a T88 on a HKS manifold, sits dead center of the strut pillar and hit hard. i will have to end up notching the pillar about a half inch to get the turbo to clear. I think the t04R is alittle bit smaller housing but not sure. with a manual you can put a little less tilt in the motor and get it to clear. Im running an auto tranny and the pan needs to be horizontal so i will be cutting the pillar to get it in there. Sorry cant help you with the wiring i have run nothing but standalones.
  14. Hey one of the reasons i didnt go any further with trying to improve the rearend i built was that i was headed into the 9s and was under teh impression that a car that fast would not pass tech with an IRS. Anyone ever read this? and if so why even try to develope something like that

  17. I visit the shop at least once a week usually more. the chassis shop is at his home away from the money making shop. Well i was saying that last fall :< Yea i can see it now. "i cant believe he did it this way im gonna have to cut everything out and start over." I guess im gonna just have to wait and hope it gets done soon. Its kind of a bummer that i more then likely wont have it to the track this year as the season here in alaska is very short. May-Sep and teh first and last months are kinda questionable as some years there has still been snow on teh ground in may and allready snow falling in september. oh well.
  18. 95% of the estimated cost of the build has allready been paid!!!!! i will be damned if any more money is being paid till i some fu*&^%g progress. In fact i may be asking for the car back along with most of my money if the **** dosnt start picking up. and like i said before i will go out and find another shell and start over/////
  19. At this point if it has any hope3s of being done this year I have to see things out where its at. he is swearing teh end of this month it will be done. it is at least on a chassis table now. richard is swamped right now anyways. It will get done just not sure when
  20. I have done that numerous times. the latest one is teh end of may that i got 3 weeks ago. so at the time it seemed reasonable but now it looking more and more like its not going to be met. Oh yea BTW it was your little strut conversion that has me thinking just start over J/K When it comes right down to it i will just have to wait. what he has done is beyond my skills to complete. i would have to senbd it to the lower 48 to get anything better. oh well im stop my whining now and go back to my weedeater when you gonna start testing thsoe struts out?

  22. Ok heres the deal. As some of you may know or may not know my car is under the knife getting a full backhalve job with a chromoly cage. Chassis will be certified to 8.99. the car was dropped off at the shop in question in FEB 04 for what was estimated at a 3 month JOB. It is now May 2 and the car is still at the shop in question and is still a long ways out from being completed. It still has a big hole in the floor and no real progress from the pics i posted months ago. the only progress is the car is now on a chassis table and the rearend was under the car on jack stands with a bunch of sharpie marks on the table. The builder in question has a rep of being slow but i used him anyways thinking how bad could it be. He is the only chassis certifier in alaska, and one of the only ones competent enough to do a job like this in alaska. Latest ETIC is end of may. At least 10 ETICs have come a gone.... Here is my question.... What to do.... If at the end of may car is not done 1. go pic it up and take it to someone else ( knowing i have to go back to him for certification) 2. Go pic up the car and try to get my money back for unfinished work cut my loses and find another car to do over. Or 3. let it ride i will be really happy once its done. or 4. insert your solution here......... I tell you what its getting real bad not having anything to work on.... i found my self tearing my new weedeater apart cause it wouldnt start......got real technical on it changed the spark plug.... compression checked it started tracing wires (actually wire) to see if the MAG was bad. I traced one wire to the ON/OFF switch only to find it was working as advertised in the off position At any rate i need a car to work on soon. Im going thru some serious withdrawl symptoms.
