  1. Personally, I would replace them. I have reused bolts on motors that I put together, but on a "good" performance build replace with new.
  2. Now, all you need is an electric garage door opener so you can be like batman and drive in and out of your "mikeman" cave with out getting out of your car.
  3. auxilary, You have nothing to prove. I`ve never met you, but I haven`t ever met anyone like you either. Keep um coming!
  4. Juan, There is some very good advise being given on this subject. Listen and learn! Then do what you think you should do. I would suggest that you make a / some proto types and then have them professionlly tested. (destructive testing in a professional setting) In todays "sue you" world, you can not be careful enough. Never give up and don`t let um beat you down! Just my thoughts
  5. A keeper! And this was done on a track that`s a little wet. The guy driving the Toyota in the second part is just mad. Thanks for the link.
  6. I have a mint condition 71 factory service manual to sell. Covers: Engine, Chassis, Body and has full electrical. Anyone interested let me know.
  7. It looks good. Would like to see a crew cab. Would also like to see the Hummer get back to it roots. I`ve seen some footage on TV of the H2 going over/thru some terrian, and well not all that impressed.
  8. Looking sharp Tim. I think I read in an earlyer post of yours that you used some type of tubing to make the frame work for your grill. (which also looks sweet) If this is correct, would you disclose what type and size tubing you used? Please
  9. People just don`t know how to drive, period! Glad you came out ok and it sucks about your Z. I don`t know how folks with nice unique cars drive them on our "crazy driver" streets.
  10. The fruits of the labor. Sounds like you had a nice ride. And, a Beautiful car!
  11. Pete, I bought them probably 4 years (or better) ago. Plus, I`ve worked them a little bit. Just never got around to doing that particular project. I only started body stuff this year, still didn`t get as much of it done as I would have liked. I have not had any bad deallings with MSA and I know they don`t make alot of the stuff they sell. It`s just a shame that a part like a headlite bucket cover (which has alot of eye apeal) can`t be made to some better tollerances. That`s why I will make I own.
  12. So what class/series are you preparing your car for? What have you done with your engine? What other trick stuff have you done that you care to share? Again, I like your door latch set up. I`m tring to come up with something simular, but the window glass will stay in. Mine is a "street legal" track car with lots of improvements still needed. There is a link in my sig for some pics.
  13. Thanks for the link Phil. 2 ?`s for you. Are your rear control arms from Arizona ? Would you be so kind and share with us your (trick) handy custom inside door hatch set up. It looks just like the solution I had not thought of, yet.
  14. The one I have that doesn`t fit worth a crap is to small. Even with the rubber trim! I guess I`ll bit the bullet and order another set and hope the one that I need is the good one out of this set. The pisser is, all I want them for is to install and use them for molds to lay glass over to make some "nice" covers.
  15. I had to run 1/4" wheel spacers up front for the 1" spacers. And I had to use a short straight zerk fitting in the ball joint for clearance. This is using a 14x7 wheel (neutral offset).
  16. preith, Very nice looking engine compartment. Please allow us to see your other pics that you have.
  17. I went out and looked and see what/where your talking about John. The seem goes all the way across the firewall. With that said, what if you left the hood latch in place and mounted on eigher side of it?
  18. The triangulation may be good at the hood latch area, but there is no support there. Even if a "backing plate" was installed behind that area to mount the strut rods to, theres still no (not much) bracing. Plus (for a street car) the wiper motor is right there. Now, if you go out a little on each side (to the inside of the 2 outer vents in the cowl panel) there are support brackets running from the firewall back under the windsheid area. (take your cowl panel off and you will see what I`m tring to explain). This is on a early model S30. Just some thoughts.
  19. I know this is an old topic, but I never really heard someone say one is a better (fit) than another. I have some from MSA and one fits great and the other is garbage. So, who has purchased these from VB (or anywhere else) and how was the fit for both sides?
  20. Can anyone reference the vents (in frt of the scoop) at the frt of this hood. Who makes them ? What car they may have come from ?
  21. I bought 1" spacers from Jim Cook Racing. Call and talk to Sandy, she will help you out.
  22. Let me tell ya about the 7 kids (with peice-O-sh1t parents) that live right acrossed the court from me. Well I won`t , but it`s all a LACK OF PARENTING ! ! ! What`s this world coming to ?
