  1. You can click on my Z pics link (in my sig) to see another mounting option. (i mounted my setup on top of the trany tunnel to get the line away from the heat in the trany tunnel) Nice work Tim, nice panel also !
  2. This is why I love this site ! Thanks Ron, for making your work / ideas available (and Pete for bringing it to our attention)
  3. take the oil pump off, put some oil in it and using the oil pump/distributor shaft turn the pump. If no oil is moved thru the pump, try another. If that works . . . reinstall the pump (making sure it is seated down in the pump correctly) and try the mechanical gauge thing again. Things to ck, the gear on the pump shaft the worm gear on the chank the oil pickup tube ? Hope this helps
  4. Arnold anounced tonite on the Tonite Show he`s in the running ! Good luck out there. And that`s your news 3 hours early from the east coast.
  5. This site has (for me) always had a good feel to it. I was welcomed here when I started posting and found the content to be great. I too like the info found on sites like cc.com, but I do not care for their style of moderation and don`t spend alot of time there. I would hate to see this site go in that direction. You mods and admins keep putting your heads together, I`m sure a good result will be the outcome. Thanks for listening !
  6. So, you're telling me to take a hike? I agree something needs to be done, but loosing the L-series forum from this site isn`t it ! What about the Turbo / Supercharger forum ? It`s at least 75% L-series content. And there is not a site better than this one for performance L-series mods. Stock stuff, yes it can be found eles where. Please think about this! There are probly as many of us L-series guys here as there is V-8 and other swappers. I have no problem with "what ever" swaps/mods are done to a Z car. Weed out the bad and keep the good !
  7. Ck out some of this guys work. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2247 I found this at classic Zcar.
  8. And Then The Car Chase Starts No really, I think the "lo-jack" system is (IMO) the best bet for finding and recovering your vehicle. 2nd, Lots of Insurance !
  9. Great post James . Now, can anyone do this with a N-42 so the differences in port shape can be seen ?
  10. Nice job on the cage Pete ! When things go bad today, You can always start again tomarrow !
  11. Yes on the acids / time thing If you like ck out the link, it`s some info on by-pass filtration products . It`s pretty cool ! http://www.amsoil.com/products/bf.html
  12. David, this is just my way I put the "main hoops" in just tight enough to get a little stiff. I then lower the car on all 4`s and connect all the link ends, just to take out tension. (I have some 2x broads made into some ramps / adout 5"high) I drive on to my ramps and tighten all the link ends, then the main hoops. I only thighten the link ends "good n tight" (german torque) at first then you will want to ck and tighten them after a few rides. Just bring everything up till the bushing are "good n tight" .
  13. Me personally, once a year . And don`t forget that air filter ! Filtration is important ! I will say this though, because I`m a dealer I change it more than I should / could . I put myself in the service service catagory .
  14. Ck to see that there Is Not an adapter on the back of the crank . If there is, remove it and the pilot bushing should fit . Most (Nissan) auto trany engines have this adapter due to using a flex plate .
  15. It only happens to the lucky ones !
  16. Jim, do you use this Evan`s coolant ? If so, please give your thoughts on this product . I had not heard of this until now . And one thing I don`t get, on there page it say`s using low or NO pressure systems. " Without pressure (or low pressure, i.e. 2 to 5 psi) in the system, gasket seals, hose connections, and even the radiator core, operate safer and longer. "
  17. Thanks Richard, that makes some sence . . . ? I do use my refresh buttom often, everytime I return from the last post I was reading .
  18. Today I counted the # of posts vs what the counter said there was (supposed to be 44), there were 29 posts ? This counter never shows me the correct # of posts, unless it less than 10 ? Anybody have any suggestions ?
