  1. qwikly scanned that again but didn't see this type of info, so here you go http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=4&i=218051&t=217906#reply_218051
  2. Why does the radiator have to be front and center? Alot of drag is the air hitting the firewall. If we can move the radiator and block off the front opening entirely... not to mention a run what you bring class.
  3. What would you attach to? is it strong enough to take the weight? I was hoping for a good way to redo the under coating on my 280zx. I only drive it in the summer, but it is Mn. I know enough people I can get something fabbed w/plans.
  4. -560 FT.LB. TORQUE AT 1500 RPM thats what i'm talking about
  5. Is that just for the dished n/a pistons, or does it apply to f54 flat tops also?
  6. Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you were going the casting route, you would only need the head to hold together. Not withstand any real loads right? So a glue or bolts could do the job until the molds are made.
  7. if your running windows XP or 2000, try microsofts beta anti-spyware.
  8. Suprising as it sounds some of the newer Merc. Cougars have plastic intakes. My dad's buddy was kinda bummed when he reported that he cracked it. of course I'm not saying they're made of pvc....
  9. reading the subie forums, ( looking for a new daily winter) I recommend staying away from the 2.5l engines. Early gens. had head gasket problems ( newly desgined gaskets fixed? it), but all suffer from short piston skirts and piston slap very early <10K miles.
  10. Was I reading that right? Are they comparing the engines by how much volume is under combustion? The proper way would be to take the volume of the oval and subtract the rotors disp. IMHO.
  11. I think any 1.3L motor will have longevity problems when make that kind of power.
  12. It's all about gearing. Tourqe can move. Remember that video of a F350 powerstroke pullin 11.5 1/4? besides the abrams (sp?) tank uses a turbine for an engine, all rpm, no tq.
  13. Strange thing is, from what I've seen, is that a FWD car accel.s faster than a RWD, or AWD. As long as it has traction of course.
  14. Well, I read the quote as stating that he had more power on the back to back runs because the turbo does not cool off in that time. there was some debate weather the cooling of the exhaust gases were good for this app. I've never flamed this subject.
  15. (goldfish)

    ford 3.8

If it's the same engine in the '86 LTD 2 then my parents never had problems with it. the car pulled hard for what it was. It did wear done bad after towing a 2500+ of boat for over a year
  16. argument over, heat is good for better turbo spooling.
  17. let's not even get into how bad the imaging will be.
  18. Could the roms be reflashed for higher speeds? or maybe an new dash from a 300zx, did they read higher? questions i've wondered about
  19. more reading if you haven't seen jeff's setup yet http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/280zxt/
  20. It has about equal hp as the 240 org. had. egines way about the same. It'll handle just fine. just get better milage
  21. some where on this board a couple of months ago some one was talking about making the cobra adapter and offering them for sale.
  22. I was wondering if/how you wire them so the warning red box still works on my zx. I like playing with all the little toys
  23. Readin gmost of those threads gained me only one thing. It is a cheap and easy way to gain power. they stated that it worked with stock exhaust manifolds. not to mention plumbing in a modern engine bay with a v8. it may not be the most powerful, and it maybe laggy, but it does fill a niche very nicely. I am intrested in the guy doing the dsc swap and comparing the two dyno graphs. It's the only real performance data on those threads. But dyno's shouldn't show lag.
  24. Can't think straight tonight but something might be learned from the 911's
  25. well, that vw turbo deisel puts out about 180ft/lbs. not to bad
