  1. It's slower than the chop saws, but inline for metal band saws. I've never heard of the blade popping off even after several years of use by my dad. He later went to the larger unit HF sells as he felt some of the "production" runs were getting to much for the little guy.
  2. There are some good laughs for the reading. http://www.htownracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40915
  3. I would tend to agree, but I assume you are work under a tight budget and time frame?
  4. Hmm.... I was just at the store looking at the 12" and it looked fairly good. All the slides and pivots moved nicely, no play or binding. I didn't feel and shaft play on the blade. Wouldn't changing blades change a lot of those issues you're having? I didn't like the angle preset, indent system it used. It seemed like it would wear out fast.
  5. What kind of angles? With simple angles I've seen this saw work good for quite awhile. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=93762 Not much more money either.
  6. Which V8 are you useing? You can make it smoggable in cali, it takes more thought and planning.
  7. In the thought of keeping the stock look and driving fast. Rebuild then engine, maybe stroker, def. lots of head work and big cam. Aftermarket EFI and it should be pretty quick and look org. Very clean BTW.
  8. Part of why jeffp made his bushings are the ZX rear tires are not center in the wheel well. I'ld look at the bushings unless you have gobs of power. It's been noted that the tires can move forward under load. There must be a good amount of force there.
  9. Just a simple re org. is all that should be needed. Killing name plates is a short sighted tactic the like of which got them in trouble. Just make GMC make all the trucks. No more "chevy" trucks. This brand competeing the have right now is hurting
  10. I'd use the timing belt. The lighter weight of the belt will be easier to control orbiting at those rpms.
  11. I'm not seeing where the 800 in the 40mm equation and the 1568 in the 57mm equation are comming from. Also mass tends to go up by the cube as it's related to volume of the object.
  12. Backpressure in exhaust is ALWAYS bad. It just doesn't use simple rules like a bigger exhaust always reduces backpressure, so it's harder to visualize.
  13. color me very jealous. one of my favorite color combo's and everything else almost perfect. I'll PM you my address
  14. Manual subie trannies have a VLSD in the tail housing. Autos' have computer controlled clutch packs to engage the rear drive shaft. STI's are something else. At least this is what I researched for the 95-05 years when I was buying mine. What about the bmw stuff?
  15. Everyday air-water intercoolers have a radiator to cool the water down again.
  16. If IRCC bigphil ran over 20 on his. But the real killer is detonation, esp a turboed NA block w/o intercooler.
  17. An LS1 should be able to match that +. I don't understand the rain and snow comment either.
  18. The 280zx is jgkurz's. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129807 it has 2 fuel injectors per cylinder.
  19. Does make stealing the car a teeny bit harder.
  20. What's the cost of custom forged pistons? It sounds like after all the time of "custom" stroker setups that would be the way to go.
  21. And you've checked the "famous" ECU plug problem?
  22. Can you get more info /pics? That's almost close enough for interest.
  23. I think I need to stop by and see you Z. I need more inspiration.
