    HF, like all cheap china stuff, you have to be the quality control. They have good stuff and bad. Those jack stands are solid.

    Agreed, the Zx should have no problems starting. Did you check the fuel pressure after turning the engine off? Also check timing and radiator, maybe it's running a tad to hot.

    You might want to check if it has cv's also. more money to you. The last '82 2+2 I looked at had the cvs in back. Dang, 500 is a little steep for me, I'm still looking for a job. About all I could do would be 200 for the engine+tranny. Sorry, money's tight. I could pick up, I have to do some work for my grandma in Souix Falls.

    Rubber also has a changing coefficeint of friction, It actually increases as the pressure decreases.

    I would say that both systems measure crank angle as neither are driven from the cam. Just the the 81 system is more accurate because of the gear slop and such, but seems to be more prone to failure.

    Have you checked the Inner tie rod end? I haven't seen rack bushings mentioned, and I have heard of the steering column u-joints going bad, but not often.

    I'm sorry to hear Subaru hasn't fixed the seizing pin thing, real common on them. I don't know what to say about the aftermarket parts clownishness.

    The 81 US turbos were indeed auto only. They changed that for 82-83.
