  1. John know the suspension forces in these cars better than most. I was surprised he would say what he did, but I would look into it very carefully. Dismissing it would be a big mistake.
  2. Doh, I never even saw that one listed.
  3. All stock Z heads flow about the same. IMO, not worth swapping stock for stock. Now if you swap in a heavily worked and cammed head, the fuel system should be reworked. Either an aftermarket EFI like MegaSquirt or carbs.
  4. If the fuses and links are good, check the column switch.
  5. Why does every think just because we say "large wheels hurt your performance" that what we really mean is "your dumb for having large wheels"? The other main factor in "real world" tests other than PMOI is the tire it's self, and that is to hard to make a constant in real world testing. Even in JohnC's test, if they were the same model and brand, they could have different compounds affecting traction. I like to think HybridZ runs on facts. IF you have 18's because you like the look, good. If you have them because that is were the selection of tires you want are, fine. Just call it what it is.
  6. If you have the R180, I would swap the entire rear end with the engine.
  7. Be careful with those DOHC 2.5l engines. They like to blow the OG head gaskets. There is a ver. 2 that is said to work right.
  8. The turbo's had CV joints in the half shafts. The non turbos have U joints.
  9. is trying to figure out the new software.

  10. Have you ever weight any of those parts in a 78 280z? The S130 is comparable in weight to the late 280z's.
  11. Close? http://www.amazon.com/Turbocharging-Internal-Combustion-Engine-Watson/dp/0333242904
  12. Ti is used for surgery because it does not react with other substances. e.g. Rust.
  13. Z's are cheap. You don't need to sell a Charger to cover the price of one.
  14. I'm surprised he has any tire left after this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoa6mloRf2Q&feature=related
  15. If you're blowing head gaskets, there is another problem. The bolts hold up quite well even in modified engines. But if you're in there and looking to upgrade to future proof, Studs are a little nicer than the bolts. Just don't expect them to solve blowing head gaskets.
  16. The 88-89 Merc. Tracer had the same cluster as the 323 GTs. and I'm sure they are easier to find.
  17. What parts do you have? What budget do you have? What are the goals?
  18. Don't place the sub in there for a couple of days to let the fumes dissipate. You don't want them loosening the glue on the cone.

  20. I would still worry about it if you hit the clutch hard. Norm makes it sound like his footwell took a large hit. http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/4/2026955/2026955#msg-2026955
  21. Also check this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=151188
  22. Funny, I just got this in my email yesterday.
  23. I'm sure Tonyd will say it better, But I think his point was the main reason to go with a larger turbine housing is if you have an exhaust manifold pressure issue. In this case changing the turbine housing will not fix the surging. Why lose any powerband if it gains you nothing?
  24. I forget which site, here or zcar, but pallent did some documentation when he did the swap.
