yea I am thinking about doing your route or swapping in the z31 suspension so I can have 5 lug and a r200 with a lsd. If I dont go that route I will definitely buy those....Thanks man! O and most people when I tell them what I drive they have to go to google images to know what it is haha.

I need a drivers side door panel cover for a 79 s130 with automatic windows. Red or black please. Also my suspension is pretty much shot so I need to redo everything, I want to convert it to a 240sx suspension or 300zx. If you have anything used(that is already custom done) if its a stock oem off of the cars no thankyou because I can get that locally.

So i just got my 79 280zx legal yesterday and on the road today!!! Man i loved driving it! It definitely needs some tlc but i loved every minute of it! Now for some suspension work because almost all the joints are shot =D.

Why do you need a cat? the car is technically an antique or classic car. I am pretty sure you dont need it. I know for a fact you dont here in Texas with an antique. Look it up on the govt web pages for smog legal in your area for classic cars. If you dont need it, take it to a muffler shop and have them weld a straight pipe in its place. its cheap.

that still doesnt sound too bad though. I wish there was a write up for more s130 swaps on here with these engines. Maybe ill have to make one =D. It all depends on the swap i choose though.

umm wow! Yea That informataion just completely made my night. I know what Im saving up for now =D Thanks for the information on the suspension I think I'll go with that advice =D and +1 on wanting to know about the rear sump oil pan

yea the slick tops look much nicer. I would love to RB swap it however I do not know how to weld....so the price for the swap goes way up. Thankyou! I thought it was a great deal!

I bought this for 500 bucks running! I have to fix the dash which im doing this next week, I'm going to sand it down and then take it to new braunfels texas to get it rhino linored* for 50-75 bucks and then throw it back on there. then Its time to save to do something to it I dont know what route im going to take yet. If i sell my other Z then ill have enough to start doing something lol Im thinking of boosting it or doing a v8 swap. I liek the turbo part cause I love boost! adn then when the engine blows build it but we shall see. any ideas would be great but im really looking foreward to restoring this baby! O and I put the six spoke Z wheels on it as well.

79 & 81 Crankshaft Pulley differences

I just put an 81 on my 79 =D there is a difference just fyi. The grooves are not exactly lines up however they are not far off, mine has a squeak to it that was not there before so I have to diag the vehicle to see what is squeaking. but there is no vibration coming from the pulley itself. I had to use a different washer on mine because the 81 had a slightly smaller center but you should be fine. Try putting it on please and let me know what you get and we can compare a little just for the next people who try this as well =D -
i was quoted 1400 with parts for mine here in texas. 1k is reasonable depending on what they do, for instance port and polishing the head and if they are able to do yoour crank in shop or ship it out. Assymbling an engine really isnt that hard, its all the other tedious things getting it ready and hot tanking etc etc that cost you the most.

Ok heres my list of what i need and my wish list. Post wug and for how much please, I live in Texas. Need: 79 datsun crank pulley driver side door cover Wish list: Turbo parts besides the fuel pump(unless its for a good price, aftermarket ones are 90 new) I dont need the manifold as of right now(a local junkyard guy is saying he can get one for 75 so we shall see)

I know you said older but I have an 83 with a running motor(120k original miles on the engine and a rebuilt tranny...less than 30k on it) im asking 800. It is in desperate need of a paint job and some tires plus has the normal rust in all the normal places but runs good. I gave it a full tune up, it has a brand new clutch/flywheel and a new master cylinder. The t-tops are cracked but not leaking. It has the six spoke rims on it and a cd player was previously installed. I also ripped out the carpet because it was shot and it has tokico springs in the rear. it has a random exhaust on it. Engine does have an exhaust leak but i have the gasket and a new exhaust manifold (the one on it is cracked) Just let me know! I have to get rid of it but I have over a grand invested in it so I dont want to go any lower. I have pics but honestly im too lazy to post them up tonight. Im tired and have to be up to go fix my other one. pm me back in interested.

yea very true and thanks. i think ill keep the piece of crap and sell the 83 and just work from there.

as far as engine swap goes I'm still up in the air. I am doing my research as to what will be best for what I want to do; either a csb, sr20 or an rb series. As far as it getting in the way if I did a custom exhaust manifold then I should be ok(or custom anything on that side)...The rack and pinion looks like it takes up more room to me than the other which is why I was hoping for some pictures. As far as the first guy said my questions were very straight foreward....and I dont get much sleep because I work too much so please bear with me. I just want to know users first hand experience with 350-500whp with there different setups and see the pros and cons and then make a decision.

Ok So I now own 2 running zx's one a 79 and the other an 83; the 83 has all the typical body rust and crappy interior but the 79 is in overall better condition. I am thinking of selling my 83 so I can have money towards an engine swap but after realizing I donthave rack and pinion on the 79 im skeptical now. I have an 82zx as a parts car that I could take the rack and pinion from and transplant over whenever I do the swap but which is better for 350-500whp in users opinions? I have not driven the 83 because it isnt street legal and I drove the 79 home after buying it for 500 bucks =D and It seemed to handle similar to my old integra and I loved the handling on that car. Also which one gets in the way more for a swap? cause that may be the bigger issue; does anyone have pictures of there swaps with each setup? I'm assuming that it is more user preference than anything but I would love feedback to help guide me; I love taking turns =D, going in a straight line is just not enough for me. Also should I swap the 82 axle over to my 79? thanks!

two of my injectors were stuck(i took a clip and put it on the injector and hooked up to the clip were a positive and negative side cable. i put the negative side on the battery terminal and then struck the positive side till the injector started ticking again) -
yea they are helping you, jsut heed there advice! now i had a problem similar to this and it was my distributor. it was sending an irregular spark. check the signal to the distributor and to the coil. get a test light to do this. test everything related to starting the car with this. get the manual and look up the wiring diagrams and follow everything and test it all.
