  1. Here's another, not as good because the rear end slid out of the water.... Better angle of the car though...
  2. Gotta share, even the neighbors came out and were filming their own vids. All of them were cool (surprisingly) and wanted more..... Had to use water, I actually hook pretty well enough that my front brakes can't keep the front tires from rolling forward. That's even after a 4 piston caliper conversion....
  3. Digging up an older thread, but that sits pretty far back!!
  4. These cheapo pads are stopping nicely. I don't do enough serious effort braking to warrant higher quality/price pads.
  5. I just finished installing (8/31/2007) all new front brakes on my Z. I went from having the stock two-piston caliper with tiny pads and small solid disc rotors. Now I have 4-piston calipers for a '90 4-Runner 4x4 3.0 litre V6 (http://www.partsamerica.com), vented, cross-drilled, and slotted rotors ('84-'85 300zx non-turbo) sourced from eBay. I also replaced all the rubber lines with stainless braided lines. I bought the stainless lines and disc/hub spacers from Ross. Boy what a difference in braking. Its also nice not having any brake fade after a good stop. Plus they look good when looking at them through my rim spokes too...... I did the whole swap for under $400. -Stainless lines & Spacers $200 Shipped -Reman Calipers $80 pair -New Vented, Slotted, & Crossdrilled Rotors $85 shipped pair -Semi-Metallic Pads $25 -Dupli-Color Caliper Ceramic Spray Paint (red) $7 -Can of Spray Brake Cleaner $2 So, what do you guys think, does it look good?
  6. Ditto. At least for the R230 diff mounting pieces anyway. I don't need the suspension stuff (yet).
  7. Crap, that worries me now. If you are still having issues with rubbing with the HP's, I think I still will be having issues.
  8. I ended just buying the HP's as per JohnC's recommendation. What struts are you running in the rear of 280 now? I'll keep you posted on my results.
  9. Yup, you an Ryan were the prime reason I bought these rims in the color and size. Just think, when you see vids of my little Z breaking into the 9's, you guys can sit back and say "that guy stole my wheels!!".
  10. I've already rolled the fender lips and it rarely rubs now when its just me in the car. When I have a guy my size in the car with me (I am 250 lbs) it rubs more often. I am currently running Suspension Techniques 280z springs (they are gray colored), their tech line says they are 182 lbs/inch rate which I am not sure I believe due to the rear being pretty bouncy, althought that may be a strut issue too. You have the same springs, correct? Do you think they have a 182 lbs rate? So, I am going to invest in some aftermarket struts, prob Illumina's on 4 or 5 setting and see if that keeps it from bouncing. Some guys on here think that the Illumina's should solve my issues. If that doesn't fix it I guess I'll be switching to coilovers. Time will tell.
  11. Good eyes!! They are 245/50/16 (25.7" tall) Kumho AST's on Sportmax 002, 16x8's, +0mm offset, etc...
  12. Digging up an old topic.... Who sells the stiffest rear springs that will work on a stock rear perch? Thanks!!
  13. Well I have them on the car, it does rub up front, but not were I was expecting. when turning the wheel the front of the tires run on the rear of the MSA air dam. I've already trimmed both sides, but I won't be able to drive the car to see if it rubs anywhere else until Friday evening. I am waiting for my new fuel pump to show up since the old one up and died on me.
  14. I meant to ask you Phil, what rear spoiler do you have? It looks good, I might have to install the same one....
  15. I have the same Sportmax 002's wrapped in 245/50/16. My front tires rub my MSA front clip, but I should be able to trim it enough so I won't have any more issues. I can't wait to drive, right now I am waiting for a new electric fuel pump, the last one died.
  16. I have 245/50/16's on my Sportmax 002's (16x8" 0 offset). But I have a 280z, not a 280zx either.
  17. Yeah, my rear suspension isn't very stiff and I had planned on rolling the fender lips too. I was more concerned about the 245/50/16 rubbing the front, lower spring perch more than the rears rubbing.
  18. I just bought some silver Sportmax 002's in 16x8 (+0 offset). I am either going to have 245/50/16's or 225/55/16's on all 4 corners (so I can rotate them).
  19. Hey Ryan, are you using the stock wheel studs with your Sportmax's? If so, what tuner lug did you end up using? I just bought the same rims for my Z, but in silver and I want to have everything I need when they get here. I am thinking about 225/55/16's up front and 245/50/16 for the rear. I'd like to do 245/50/16's all the way around, but I think I'd have to space out the fronts seeing the limited room you have with 225's and the lower spring perch. I am going to go with MM's 4x4 brake conversion, I've heard that the kit ends up spacing the front wheels out alittle. Can anyone confirm this? If so, and depending on how much spacing, it might be enough to have the tires clear the front lower spring perch. Thanks dude.
