  1. Anybody notice the rust inside the tube? Is it possible this was a contributing factor?
  2. I was at CMP this past weekend with THSSC and Triangle Z. Great bunch of guys. A very fun event. The car was doing OK considering the hot greasy track. I was on track at speed and heard a pop and then a big puff of smoke from the right rear. The smoke was cause by the rear tire hitting the fiberglass flair. Great, more body work. I do inspect the car on a lift and I inspect the control arm welds with light and magnification. I don't think I would have caught this even with disassenbly and inspection. The rear inboard attachment point broken http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/1276690252/med_gallery_787_732_2565090.jpg http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/1276690252/med_gallery_787_732_1654562.jpg And this is what will replace the rear control arms. http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/1276690252/med_gallery_787_732_589558.jpg

  5. I took a hand full of orange M&Ms to the painter and said make it this color.
  6. If those are the factory wipers and not the modified chevy love set up that most guys go with, it's probably the narp contactor relay in the wiper motor assembly. These are easy to replace and a step by step tutoral can be found in the stickies under the electrical sub section in this very forum. The issue most guys have is finding the parts. They are NLA from Nissan and a few still pop up on ebay from time to time but are quite expensive. I happen to have one that I've been debating selling but I'll probably hang on to it for now. Try the local part yard for the chevy love pick up and grab the wiper assembly including all electrics. Be sure to follow the step by step guide and it will be a snap.
  7. Have you checked the oil level? Is it overfilled?
  8. Very cool car. I didn't know you spoke French well enough to translate the specs on the car. JT-1 a renaissance man for sure.
  9. My 73 240 z with sparco milanos has just over an inch between the widest part of the seat and the door panel. Sparco list the width as 22.1 inches.
  10. I've got one rear wheel that always takes alot of weight to balance. It may help to rotate the tire on the rim 180 degrees and try again.
  11. I went back to the opti and the car ran fine. The only change was removing the deltique and using the stock opti. Some one much smarter than me needs to figure out a better way.
  12. I need one too. Car runs like crap.
  13. The ones I linked are the ones you need. They are lock nuts, don't have to peen these.
  14. If the threads on the axel are gone, the threads on the nut will be boogered up.
  15. Don't reuse the nut. Buy some of these. Buy an extra one for next time also. http://www.courtesyparts.com/lock-nut-for-rear-axle-280zx-turbo-1982-1983-p-228854.html?cPath=7002_7768&
  16. Looks great. Whose kit is that?
  17. I've seen and S-30 that had a 280zx targa roof grafted onto it. It looked very nice. I don't remember how the windows met the top but the door window trim was no longer on the car. Go for it.
  18. I used aircraft hardware. The nuts are bolts are drilled for cotter pins that are placed after it is torqued down.
  19. I have the fronts safety wired. I need the do the rears. Thanks for the prod.
