  1. Ive seen a few Z cars trying to run a lot of castor that would snap off a strut top like that. Check and make sure that the part the strut top bolts to is a mono ball. I'm betting the mount that the strut bolts to does not move either by design or because it is seized up. There is a reason the strut top snapped off. Try to find it before you put it all back together. The other cause of broken strut tops is impact guns. Unfortunatly I know this from personal experience.
  2. If I remember correctly, those control arms are designed with a set screw as ezzzzzzz suggested. Make sure they are there and tight. I'm betting on crappy CV's. Check out Wolf Creek Racing's set up.
  3. Getting to the nuts on the back of the hubs can be a PIA but that lift will make it much easier.
  4. If you are also using arizona Z cars rear 4 to 5 lug adaptors, make sure the adaptors are tight. They are the allen head bolts on the rear hub.
  5. Great looking car. Looks like you had a blast. When you said this was your last event, did you mean with this group or for the season or for good?
  6. That makes me understand just how fantastic a BMW really is.
  7. If the main reason you are doing this is fuel starvation then maybe you don't need a fuel cell. A surge tank with a low pressure pump feeding it and a high pressure pump from the surge tank will solve the fuel starvation problems, be cheaper and easier. If you do go the fuel cell route buy a real cell with an internal pump. You skin may thank you one day.
  8. Beautiful!! When does it see track time? I want to see it in person.
  9. Hope it works. Glad you are OK after your wild ride.
  10. Is this it? It's been awhile but I believe this was the part I used. EAR592032 EARL'S PERFORMANCE EARL'S PERFORMANCE 592032 Caliper Adapt -3 to 10mmX1.0 EARL'S PERFORMANCE 592032 Caliper Adapt -3 to 10mmX1.0 Caliper Adapt -3 to 10mmX1.0 Fittings, Brake, Steel, Zinc Plated, Male -3 AN to Male 10mm x 1.0 Thread, Pair EARL'S PERFORMANCE 592032 $14.99 ... more info http://www.eraceware.com/brakes-1574/brake-fittings-1603/ I've also used 1\8 NPT to #3 fittings on the brake calipers with teflon tape onthe npt part. The threads on the npt side are a few thousands away from the 10x1.0 thread and have not had any issues going on 15 years on my lt-1 car.
  11. I stopped at the local chevy dealership to buy a few parts. I was in the LT-1 Z. One of the service guys came out and said I used to own one just like that. I said not like this one. He said yeah like that one, mine had a V-8 also. It was funny. He knew the cars well and he knew the sound of a chevy V-8.
  12. I'm looking forward to seeing that beast on the tack. Great job and congrats.
  13. I would be all over quarter windows with air ducts.
  14. Are the inboard attachment points for the rear control arms parallel to the long axis of the car?
  15. I could see the heavier flywheel having an advantage at launch but that is it.
  16. Glad it got there OK. It's good to see someone will give this car the attention it needs. Keep the updates coming.
  17. http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/2/2212.jpg Its on the right side inner fender well just ahead of the strut tower.
  18. I believe JT has this figured out. It's engineering geeky stuff to quote John. I'll let him explain.
  19. Jon, THanks for the info and links. Alan, I appreciate the insight. JT, here is the pic you asked for. Thanks guys. http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/1276690252/med_gallery_787_732_2534735.jpg
