  1. Simply AWESOME! I love it.
  2. I've been looking, but no info yet.............any other markings on the piston?
  3. I just checked it, and the link works for me. Try again maybe?
  4. My 1:18 die--cast Z model is made by http://www.sunstartoys.com The detail is so much better than this model. I paid the grand sum of $14.99 for it!
  5. I saw this on Ebay and thought it was interesting, check item #320035221428 it's a '66 411 wagon.
  6. Check you rear diff mount, very common to fail on the Z's.
  7. Looks like a nice find. The 4.3's IMO are not as power savy as say a 350, but I think they make a really good daily driver combo in a Z. Also, they are somewhat cheap to boot. There are quite a few "street rod" guys that use the 4.3, and I am sure that "early" iron is heavier than our Z's. Anyway, good luck on your swap.
  8. All those cars were enroute to Chicago to be given away on the Oprah show........................lol!
  9. I always use a little gunpowder in each cylinder, install plugs and ignition, hit the key,.........kaboom!
  10. Send the payapl and buy this thing! Then install on the '33 Dodge, as you have more than enough room for the turbos. Might want to add wings as well, as the '33 would "fly" right over the top of the mud bog. An unbeatable combo! Go for it Doc!
  11. I really like your dash design. As for the finish, I would probably wrap the dash in black suede, with inserts in carbon fiber. That would probably look best with the rest of the interior being black suede IMO. Good luck!
  12. Nice to hear you got itrunning. Break her in easy, then the rush of a BBC Z is yours!
  13. If you have not seen this link already, check it out. Lots of low $ turbo ideas. Good luck on your project! http://www.toohighpsi.com
  14. I just made a small donation as well. It's not very much, but as others have said, every little bit helps! I am a little "low-funded" at the moment, because my wife has to take time off from work to help care for our 1 year old son, due to my upcoming ankle reconstruction surgery on Oct. 9th. Anyway, when things get a lil' better, hopefully I can give more $.
  15. the guy that was building a twin-turbo Monte? Lil' Doc says, does the firing order start 1.3.4.2..... or 1.8.4.3............ Dang it! What car am I working on? The Mitsu or the Monte? Oh, it must be the MSD box............. Doc, please exscuse my poor attempt at being funny, just joking!
  16. Sorry to hear about the bum MSD box, but surely you must have something lying abut that you can use just to test fire? Maybe an old HEI? Good luck Doc.
  17. You can do it! I have never smoked, but I remember my Dad asking me what I wanted for my 18th birthday, I said "stop smoking". I didn't think he would take me serious, but I am 35 now, and he has not had a smoke since. Think positive, all of your fellow HybridZ brothers are here to support you. I wish the best of luck. Jason
  18. Go for it! Even if it does not turn out as you had planned, it would be most valuable as an educational/experience standpoint.
  19. Well, I have a 72' Z at my step-Dad's property in Louisiana. We had installed a 4.3 V6 with the JTR mount plates and engine mounts. It sits about 4" inches forward of where a V8 would be. A benefit of this, the stock Z trans mount could work with minor mods. The trans is an S10 700R4.
  20. A Z meeting it's ending, I cringe! I'm sure everyone has seen the video of the wacko, I think in L.A., who stole an army tank and went on a ramapge and destroyed many things including a Z. I also watched a movie on speedchannel a few weeks ago, made by the same folks who made the original Gone in sixty seconds, anyway, a 280ZX had the front end clipped off by another car, so sad.
  21. If I were in your spot, I would definitely buy the car back. Then take your money from the insurance and find/buy the best condition ZX you can find, which most likely will have a bum interior as well as other issues that can be rectified with the parts from your current Z. Then strip the shell clean of anything remaining and you will have spare parts. Good luck!
