There is at least one member on here that has done the Caddy 500 swap and his Z is rather nice too. His sig is pdinnell. There was another in process swap, can"t remember his sig though, try the search button.

The actual motor mounts themselves may be different between the SBC and BBC, but the attachmnet points/bolt pattern on the engine block is the same.

while somewhat entertaining, has wasted alot of valuable Hybrid Z space..........LOL!!!

today! The mini Z is fast! The model kit kit is awesome. It is a really nice kit as the detail on all the parts is really good. I was going to build it, but I think I'll keep it in the box for now. I feel that it is unique, from Japan, RHD, etc. If I am lucky enough to find another, then I'll build one of them. I know it's not a million $ model kit, but it sure makes me happy! The oil for signs of water, maybe pull a valve cover as well. Run a compression check. The 400's are good, but you have to be cautious, as I have seen more than one person get shafted on a "good deal" 400 SBC. Good luck.

Offer him $2,500 and see if he bites. The Z looks/sounds like a good deal.

I like it! I'd say go for it! Yeah those Mazda/rotary purists are going to hate it. Even if you build it with a stock L28 engine, it would raise many an eyebrow. GO FOR IT! But remember to post pics of the progress. Good luck! I think this is my 300th post..........woo hoo!!!

I am saddened by his passing as well. My 6 year old son is a big fan, he asks me, How did a stingray kill him, when he plays with dangerous snakes and crocodiles? That took a while to explain.
