  1. Altough I am not a mopar guy myself, I know that the 318 makes a great boat anchor! Just kidding. If I were you I would definitely pick up the motor. It even has fairly low miles. If I were you, I would add 4bbl intake, 650 Holley, a CompCams XE268 or XE 274 cam, headers, and put all of this into the spare Z you have in storage. A nice 4 speed manual, or even a nice A904 trans with a 2500 or so stall speed would make a very nice mild street car. Go pick up that motor, if I knew where it was, I would get it. Good luck on your project.
  2. I'm glad to hear the surgery went well and you seem to be getting around okay. Definitely let the wife help with any lifting. Take care.
  3. Do you have long lengths of rubber fuel line in the fuel system? I ask this years ago a friend had a problem similar to this. Anyway, he did have too long lengths of rubber line and they were apparently collapsing at higher rpm's. I hope this crazy idea helps. Good luck.
  4. It sounds like a possible clutch throw-out bearing problem. Does it make the noise at an idle with car stationary, then noise fades when clutch in pushed in? I might be out of the box here, just an idea. Good Luck.
  5. Hey man, I hope the surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery! Take care man
  6. I had the same sort of problem once, guess what? 180 degrees out!!! It ran like a top after I realized that.
  7. I'll bet that cop said "must have been a bad sum' beeching car to do that". Hanns, I'll bet that I speak for others when I say, get that Z to a dyno! Keep on, keeping on, T.M. the great!
  8. After watching the clip for the sixth time, I got two words for you.............. HOLY S*&T!!! I am glad to see "The Z" on the road again. When you get the Z to actually hook up, I think mid to low nines will be reality. Have a good one Hanns. Jason
  9. I know, it's not a z car, but it would be a kick a$$ grocery getter. I'm thinking the early 80's model. I really like this idea as I am having NO luck finding a Z with minimal rust at a decent price. My wife likes the idea as our 2 young boys would fit better. I'm thinking LS1 Maxima!!! Anyone see or hear of one? Bueller??? Bueller???
  10. You might want to check out this site http://www.toohighpsi.com It has wealth of info for the low-buck turbo/carb combo.
  11. Apparently "the Z" is operational, glad to hear it. What did you find about the oil pressure problem? With the new cage and mods, I'll bet you can crank up the boost, those 9.50's are just a 1/4 mile away!!! Get that license so we can see those 9 second videos. Take care Hanns.
  12. I'd say go for it Mr. Dr.Hunt. Tube that other z and show JapTin how it's done! Keep on keepin' on.........take care dude.
  13. No, not really, I thought I would just poke a little fun. Hey, does anyone know if a 350 crank will fit a 283 block??? LOL, J/K..........HaHa!!
  14. Are you two at it again? Why can't we just be friends?.........lol j/k You guys sound like two highly intelligent people, instead of matching wits, maybe combine your ideas, thoughts, etc. You guys take care, and get those Z's going!!!!
  15. Have you thought about using a front sump oilpan for the chevy V8? They came stock on the early to mid 60's V8 Chevy II Novas. I think you can get new ones from Jegs or summit.
  16. I don't know who the two guys this video was dedicated to, but it was very cool video, thanks for posting.
  17. Just drink more beer, the more you drink, the less you will notice the shock..............
  18. In my opinion, this engine would be a radically cool swap. However I don't think the Z is well suited for it as the chassis design would make the swap VERY difficult. Maybe an old Datsun 510 station wagon or an old Daston mid 70's Datsun pickup, either with a robust transaxle would be so cool. THe truck would ease the cooling issue. Maybe you could get ARP to custom make some cylinder head studs. Any, just ideas, Good Luck!
  19. I am sorry if I ruffled any feathers. I guess I should have read the entire thread a little better. I totally agree with Mikelly, Tim240z, pparaska, and so on. This site can definitely do without the likes of this lingo........ "TeRBOOs R sTrAiT Phat w/ da sPiN'n butt I oNlY Kan GEt 30 pSi. So mY BroThEr hOmIe'S Baby's FaThEr Sayz rAcE my tYpO-R butt I tHiNkZ wens I hit 4K mY mOtOr Starts making iCe bLuE smoke. aIgHt PiEcE dOgGZ plz aDViCe me" It really is a shame when people communicate this way, it's like they are celebrating their ignorance.
  20. This is the type of togetherness I am talking about, read the thread, Z fans helping other Z fans, getting together, trash talking, bench racing, B.S. slinging, etc. Yo, I just wanabee homies.............. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107058
  21. So, who is going to be the first to pick on my spelling errors in my last post?????? Some people have too much time.............
  22. Is this english grammer 101? I thought it was the most awesome hybrid z car site. Who the hell cares if someone does not use the proper punctuation, or spelling. What is really important here, the continued improvement/performance of the glorious Z car or somebody's rant about high school english skills? Geez people, why can't we all be friends? I just want the dopest, hip, legit, tight, kickin', hype, rad, so on, so forth, etc. Z ever. Who cares what language, spelling, grammer, ebonics, whatever, is used, the reason for all of us to communicate here is to share the trial/errors, ideas, dreams, knowledge, etc. of the fabulous Z car. There sre more things we al should be worried about. Take care fellow Z car fans. I'm done.......
  23. You should check out the threads/posts by Scottie-GNZ, he is a member here on HybridZ. Check it out, should still have nice pics of his Z.
  24. Check out this site, the guy builds low-buck 351 turbo motors that work fairly well. http://www.toohighpsi.com
