  1. John C., This is the stuff I was asking you about! You mentioned it to me once and I forgot what it was. srgunz, So I can just go to a dealership and ask for Ford HD? Owen
  2. His name is Yasu and he's not a member here. The car is under construction right now for some reason or other. Owen
  3. I'm using a dash cap sanded and sprayed smooth. No problems with glare for me. There was another post on this a while back with some pix of mine. Owen
  4. From what I remember, DPLF only needs to be scuffed with a grey scotchbrite pad. Shouldn't take too long. Owen
  5. Cool, thanks. Hey Leon, sorry I couldn't make it sunday. I'll be there next month tho. Owen
  6. Hey who's car is this? The blue one. http://homepage.mac.com/toshikato/405-Z/PhotoAlbum124.html Leon? I remember somebody last week telling me about their Pantera rear hatch...Wish I coulda went, I just got back from Vegas an hour ago. Owen
  7. Word up, I agree to that. I got to ride in a 9sec FD drag car in Japan and I went in saying, this is gonna be so-so...(didn't know the capability of the car at the time) that f-ing car FLEW! And it was pretty comfortable since it was made as a demo car for passengers to experience, meaning it wasn't stripped down to the bones. I would do the LS1/LS2 on the FD and get a 20B for the FC. Those damn 20Bs cost so much though, that was my original plan... Owen
  8. BTW, the second link is my friend's pictures.
  9. My understanding of this much debated topic is that the vents on the hood need to have a lip to create turbulence which will aid in sucking air out. Here's mine, the extra foglights are for when I forget my glasses Check out these fog, er, headlights! Check out the "Show me your hood vents" thread from a while back also. And also, side skirts to keep the air front to rear are required also right? Hmm, maybe we need an aero section in HybridZ also??? I was planning on flat-mounted intercoolers under or near each duct, but that was for the now defunct twin turbo Z project...now I'm just doing it for looks and I'm not afraid to admit it! It would be cool to test these out, I'm waiting on the Beta Motorsports windtunnel to be completed.
  10. Oops the new link didn't get pasted. Here it is, links pages A to H are a the top of each page. http://homepage.mac.com/toshikato/405-Z/PhotoAlbum56.html

    OBD tools

Maybe my friend wants to cause malfunctions while he's driving? Maybe the sensor is out of reach, like my detonation sensor on the Z32 (have to pull the plenum). Who knows??? Off topic, got the drill press today, didn't have much time so put it together but couldn't get the chuck on, damnit. Owen

    OBD tools

I don't think I would get one from a local store...who knows what crap they sell? About the failure thing, I don't know, I was just asked to search about it...some searching revealed a "system test" that can be initiated. Couldn't find any other info about it though. Owen
  15. I have a friend looking for an OBD 1 and or 2 tool that not only reads sensors but can create a failure condition as well. Anyone know of a good brand? Thanks, Owen
  16. My 73 dash was 30lbs by itself when I removed it. Owen
  17. Forget sticking it in your pocket, get a dizzy holder. Or a brake MC holder, or an ignition module holder, or a.... "Use when working with paint, on cars, or any other dirty job. Keeps hands clean even under the worst conditions. Each is dusted to prevent sticking, but can be wiped off with rubbing alcohol if desired. Gloves fit either hand and come packed in a tissue-box type dispenser." Should say, "Box is perfectly sized for a distributor, brake master cylinder, RX7 ignitor/coils, throttle bodies and more!"
  18. My v8z wasn't a daily and the longest I've driven it was a little over two hours away. The longest I've been stuck in traffic was 1 and a half hours. I was using the Black Magic fan and had no problems but figured a two speed would be better. I picked up to fans at the JY, one for the Z32, but will most likely never get around to it. If it ain't broke... Owen
  19. thanks! i'll have plenty of juice from the amps, and i know there's ones out there that pull less, but you can't beat $12 each at a junkyard! yeah, my Z32 has the fan clutch setup, ive heard it pulls a helluva lot of air, just never liked the idea of it though...seems like "old tech", but i've never had a problem with it. owen
  20. I'm getting a page not found error for both...
