  1. Has anybody else heard of the Corvette HEI mod, i did a search, but the only thing i found was sum1 was gonna put one in, but nuthing about if it actually works or not. I saw it on a site, but they used it on a Datsun 510, would it work on the 280zx too? I was thinkin-well if u divide a V-8 in half, you get an I-4.......and thats where the I-6 didn't comprehend in my thinking........im possibly just ranting on for nuthing, but has any body had good luck with this mod?
  2. well, ur car is flooded, sounds like the old head-temp sensor....theres a really cheap way to fix it-i can't remember the method, u use a resistor of sum sort....anybody else know? Well, good thing u didn't get the mechanics to fix ur car, u would have brand new fuel injectors-$550 plus $200 to install....and your car would still have a wierd flooding problem, then they'd make u get a new head temp sensor-$75(?), i say u just rig it up with that resistor, search the forums-its on here sumwhere. If sumone has there FSM on hand, could u say wht the correct reading is.........then u buy that resistor, its a few cents, thats about it-put that in there instead of your cold start, and u'll b good.

  4. I saw in sum magazine a while back, where they put a Caddillac Northstar engine from a Caddillac Seville into a VW Golf-300HP....that would b a nice hybrid idea.   6. with the 2+2 platform, it would b longer, so the length and wheelbase would b closer to the Ferrari's, but besides that, if you do a 2+2 design, it wouldn't b much harder, all you'd hafta change would b the sideskirts and door moldings, or would u hafta redo the whole car for porportions?
  7. idk about ur states laws, but i've been to the local airport, and they sell 100 octane gas, and anybody can buy it-it mite also have sumthin to do with the Racecar builder down the street. I was always told that you can put unleaded gas into a leaded gas tank, isn't that true?

  9. this sounds like a problem i had once, turned out that the dizzy cap and rotor were bad, its a few dollar fix, plus-theres no harm done in getting a new one anyway, its cheap. If the mechanic didn't know wht kind of engine it was, then i wouldn't really put 100% of wht they said into consideration. First they say bad injector wires, wich is 90 bux to buy, then they do all this other stuff, then it turns out u have bad injectors, 220 to buy, then 1600 dollars later your car is out of the shop and it still runs like crap becuz ur FPR crapped out.........been there done that, i've gone threw a few FPRs. Wich brings me to my next thought-they said ur injectors rn't firing? well, reconnect all of the wiring to ur injectors, then take a screwdriver(flathead) and put it between the injector body and the wiring connecter on it, get a frend to crank the engine, put ur ear on the handle of the screwdriver, if u hear a clicking when the engine is cranked-then it works, move onto the next injector. I highly doubt that most of ur injector wiring crapped out at once, not all of them are bad-becuz, ur engine sputters, wich means it is getting gas to alteast one cylinder. Try this, this is a simple fix-it fixed my car once. Take a vice-grip plier, and clamp the return line, prime the fuel system, then turn the key, if it works, ur FPR is crapped out, there not that expensive to fix. This actually makes the most sence to me for ur problem, becuz if u crank it over and over, it will just drip gas into the cylinder(it won't spray)-wich could b y that it sputters for every few cranks-those few drops is enough to make it sputter? Does any of this make sence to anyone else?
  10. the only wieght that would play a part in HP loss would probly b the driveshaft, thats y if u get a lighter one, the hp goes up.....it also hasta do with the wieght of the gears in the tranny and diff to get going, it also hasta do with friction in the tranny, engine, and diff.

Hybrid Delorean....never, o wait, thats rong, they actually sell a race engine specially for the delorean, and although they only sold a handfull of them-they were setup to sell WAY MORE, there was actually a factory that had all the parts and cars that were never sold, its in Texas i believe. Well, sum1 bought the shop, and they actually sell BRAND NEW 1980's Delorean, never started cars, BRAND NEW.....i don't know the actual site, but it may b http://www.delorean.com they sell everything from NOS parts to full cars, to engines, to race engines, they even have a bodyshop setup there, and they'll restore ur delorean for you. RIP JOHN DELOREAN- you will be missed
  13. I found out it was the I/C unit, cuz we dissected it, and it was cracked in half

  17. i was gonna say run a sleeve all the way through the passages, and then weld them into place-that way it won't leak.

  19. i think it was Tim who said u put a gallon of alcohal in the gas tank, and it will pretty much always pass emissions.......i can't remember exactly wht the stuff is, mayb tim will say sumthin---

  21. i had just replaced the coil this morning, and im checking for spark from the coil. I've already fixed the module-so thats not it, it was working fine a few days ago, but then it dropped idle and died, and it hasn't started since, its not getting any spark from the coil-my plugs were all fouled-but im not getting any spark.
  22. checked that already-its not even hooked upto the dizzy, its just off the coil- i already got that fixed. Its not random, its no spark at all-i had that problem once b4

Another problem, my 280ZX won't start, this time its getting gas and everything, but the coil won't even send a spark, the wiring is all hooked up-but when i crank the engine it won't spark. everything else is perfect, it just won't send a spark- i used a test lite to check the wiring, and it all checks out fine, and i just replaced the coil and everything-it should b working-wht could b rong this time?
