i plan on doing this conversion within the next couple of weeks, becuz my RB25 idea dropped through with summer school, can't work enough hours, so i can't afford the swap. I think i have most of wht i need to do figured out, but the one problem i am lookin at is-where does the BOV go on the N/A turbo conversion? Wich vaccum line do u use?

tell me about it, my injectors and wiring went bad, it was horrible, i really wish i had done the work my self, i could have done it for like a thousand cheaper-mechanics will rape you.......specially mine.

i think thats wht they mean....damn, if i had known that, i would have screwed the 1.3 liter in it, and bored it out and got sum .030 pistons for it, that would really help the power out of that 4-banger

well, as alot of others on the board, i've only used amsoil, and i've had great experiances with it. I have not got a chance to put it into the Z yet, but then again, i haven't really had a chance to do anything to the Z yet. When my frends dad put it in his buick le sabre, and a few months later he took the valve covers off, and the valve springs looked brand new, it cleans the engine up pretty good, and when we put it in an MK3 supra, you could actually feel a diffrence in the amount of power it had, then the same supra started having shifting problems, and when we put amsoil in the tranny, and it shifts great now, feels like how a new car would shift. The guys dad is an amsoil dealer-hence the reason y they have it in all there cars. In his dads pontiac vibe, he has there new oil that only needs to b chance every 35,000 miles-YES THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND MILES, its at around 30,000 miles now, and its been recently tested and its doing great. For wht i say, AMSOIL all the way, i plan on becoming a dealer when i turn 18, im a partial dealer through my frend and his dad-i just basicly get them buisness. When my car gets out, i plan on doing a complete engine, tranny, and rear end oil flush, and replacing it with amsoil. Its sum great stuff. Stick with the 10w-30, not that it matters as much with synthetics, a thicker wieght earth oil, won't boil as easily, but if it gets cold-there is no way your car is gonna start, unless u build a fire under the oil pan-becuz its just too thick. And if u use a thinner wieght earth oil, then its horrible for ur engine when its hot-becuz the heat will only make it thinner and it won't stick to the cylinder walls. But with synthetics, no matter wich wieght you use, it will pour better at low temperatures, and it will poor better at high temperatues, it won't gum up or boil anywhere close to a crude based oil. Basicly, whatever weight oil you use, it will out perform any crude based oil. As thick as it gets, it will still lubricate better then crude.

don't worry, i am no longer doing buissness with this mechanic, there is a certified nissan/datsun mechanic right down the road, i had a time related problem with this mechanic at one point, but not damage related-so hes my next choice. I just called the sherriffs office, and an officer should b contacting me within a few minuts, hopefully!

my frend has a TH-350 behind his 455, he says it makes about 500 ft/lbs at the flywheel, the block just cracked a few weeks ago, but hes getting it bored out and sleeved, and its gonna b about a 470 ci engine..his transmission can't hold too much abuse while running at 500 hp either.

well, now my mechanic refuses to give me a loaner car becuz im under age. He said that i could get along for another 2+ weeks, just the way that you've been getting along for the past few weeks. "well, that would make sence, but i've been driving my dads truck for the past few weeks, and that has a very bad overheating problem, and the day i came to pick up the car, my dad said i couldn't drive it anymore till he gets a new radiator-wich is not for a few months" "well, your too young to get a loaner car. So im not sure wht u should do, its not like its our fault that u have nuthing to drive" NOW THATS WHT GETS ME PISSED............ ".......its not like its our fault that u have nuthing to drive.........." H/o, if sum1 that works there, backed into my car, wich was carelessly parked in front of there garage door-instead of in a parking space-that automaticly makes it sum1 elses fault, and not the shop's? They wtf r they paying for the body work for, if its not there fault? Seeing as how i sure as hell didn't back a truck into my car b4 the place opened. I can't even get my car back now, because the body shop owner is going on vacation, so im screwed there-i have no way to get to either of my jobs now.......I AM PISSED. I think im gonna get my car back sumhow, and get a quote on how much it will cost to fix it-then i will bring those numbers to the mechanic and make him pay, then i'll do the body work myself-because i do bodywork as a trade-and with that money i'll start getting sum engine pieces together. If my mechanic refuses to pay me the money, then i think im gonna bring him to court.......i think i may just skip everything else and take him to court, because he messed up and is being very incooperative, and will not try and help-hes good frends with the body shop owner, so hes probly not gonna pay that much at all to get my car fixed. How would i go about bringing the mechanic to court? Anybody have any other thoughts on wht i should do???

i recently started thinkin about the Buick 455, becuz my frend has one in his truck, he says its an inch longer then a chevy small block, as opposed to a chevy 454, wich is much bigger then an inch. And he says they can b had pretty cheaply.
-
they had it parked in front of the garage, and a truck backed into it, i have seen tractor trailors in the lot b4, and judging by the size of the dent........it was probly a semi-truck I told the guys at work about it tday, and they said that i should get a rental car from them, so i called, and i should b getting one tommorrow.

yah, the shop is paying to get it fixed, there paying a body shop that they work with.

As all of you know already, i wrecked my car a few weeks ago when i hydroplaned. Well, i went to the mechanic to pick up the car tday, and i noticed a huge dent in my quarter panel, my left quarter panel was probly about 6-8 inches into the body of the car.....my mechanic WRECKED my car....but they r getting it repaired, but thats another 2 weeks of down time.

I was at work yesterday and was cleaning up a volvo S90, when i noticed, hey.....its a straight six, and i also noticed..........hmmmmm, 24 valve. When i thought "wouldn't it b cool to have 181 hp straight 6 engine, with twin cams, and alot of room for upgrade" Has anyone considered doing this volvo engine in a Z..... Straight six, 181 hp stock, twin cams, and theres gotta b a way to bolt a manual upto it, it comes with an auto. Its also 2.9 liters, so its not too much bigger then the Z engine-and it also averages about 23mpg stock. http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/Used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2115/act/usedcarreviewspecs/ It says that volvo made no manuals? Crap, guess u'd hafta stay auto, or make a conversion-plate to hook it up to a t-5 or sumthin. How cheap can these setups b had for, im not sure of how much the engine and tranny and wiring will cost.
-
well, i think my car is gonna be out of the shop tommorrow, everything is done, except i need my brakeline made. And for the first time, its getting an alignment, i wonder what that is gonna feel like? Only problem, i may not have the car for a few weeks, the damn mechanic is costing me a little over $600, and i could have done the work myself for $600 less. But the car is pretty much done, should b out tommorrow, or the beginning of next week, not too sure if my mechanic will bill me or withhold the car. It could b a few weeks.

i relized all this, thats y i've decided to go L28et or V-8

I've just been fooling around with engine swap ideas lately, and i've decided that im not gonna b able to do the RB swap at the moment because of limited time and budget, so im gonna swap over to an L28ET and 5 speed. But, my frend has an mk3 supra with the 7MGTE engine in it, and im trying to convince him to go 1JZ...so i look around the internet and find sound clips-and the 1JZ sounds BADASS, and i wanna get one(i hafta get one) I looked around, and it seems a few ppl with toyota trucks put the 1JZ in there, i'd get a supra, but i want sumthing thats gonna b a total sleeper, and alot of ppl around her know wht the mk3 is, cuz everyone has seen my buddy's. The general question is, does anybody make a mount kit for the 1JZ toyota truck, i've looked on all the toyota forums, but alot of them dont have the search function, so its hard as **** to look it up. Does anybody else know anything about these swaps? i've seen a few threads on here about them, but nuthing about the swap itself.

i called japan direct, and they don't have any engine swaps, they only have the front clips, and i can't afford a front clip

What is the best price for an RB25DET and 5 Speed, i found one at http://www.flashoptions.com for 1400-but its in japan, so shipping is gonna suck. Anybody know of any better prices, or closer place to get one, Virginia
